Why does everyone seem to think itagaki was so damn good. Arguably he peaked at ninja gaiden black... which was 10 years ago.

He progressively made DOA WORSE...
NG2 was rushed and plagued with terrible texture work and frame-rate issues as well.

the WORST thing the new team ninja has done is Ninja gaiden 3, razor's edge is a huge improvement that is only really held back by some truly terrible enemy designs.

Extreme Beach Volleyball was the stupidest idea for a game.

Shitty softcore padding for an ok volleyball game.
If you want to make a porn game just do that, but otherwise, there was no reason not to play Beach Spikers.

I'd bet DOA6 as there is a lack of fighting games on current gen hardware, especially the PS4 and fighting games can be turned out quickly early in a generation to start making coin.

The question is if it's actually a PS4 exclusive or if they just didn't mention the XB1 version. DOA6 as a PS4 exclusive would seem odd as it jumped ship to the Xbox brand when it first launched, so there's something of an audience there. Unless maybe the recent multi-plats did way better in Japan and Europe than N.A. so TN and TK want to focus the IP on it's strongest markets.

Ninja Gaiden 4 for Ps4, would be sweet

Enjoyed all the NG, the last one tried to do some coop which was a sweet idea but networking was not good enough.

Would love to play a NG with a friend with bigger levels and more enemies, would be sweeeeeet

I never thought I'd say this, as I've wanted to kill the guy many times while playing his games, but they need Itagaki back.

Possibly Dead or Alive 6 but the way things are going at the moment with fighters it will probably be Dead or Alive 6 Ultimate: Core Fighters which would account for why there has been no mention of a Microsoft version yet.

I want news that they are going to continue with Dead or Alive. DoA5:U is a really good game, much better than their Ninja Gaiden efforts.

NG2 was rushes due to temco and Microsoft, not Itagaki. He was fired shortly after shipping because of ongoing arguments about bonuses and the like.

It still is a fucking master piece. It may not be black but it was designed to be the offensive based yang to Black defensive based yin. It almost pulls it off perfectly.

NG3 is a fucking mess of bad decisions, bad storys and techincial errors. Razors edge fixes some of the surface issues, but basically puts a plaster on a open festering would and complains that the flesh is still rotting. I could quite easily write a 2000 essay on everything that is wrong with NG3.

NG2 was fucking awesome! I don't know why people like pissing on it. Had some of the most visceral, satisfying combat ever!

Because Microsoft and Tecmo made sure that the game deserved to be pissed on.
Never has so much potential been wasted by dumb publishers decisions.

Because NG II releasing really made a dent on MGS 4's hype.

Fucking Microsoft.

Same reason people shit on DMC4 when trying to prop up DmC.

I cannot take anyone seriously who claims to have completed NG2 from start to finish and says NG3 or even Razors edge isnt a subpar game. You are lying or you played them both on Ninja dog/hero mode with your eyes closed for half the game.

I think that Team Ninja needs to make a new IP, something which doesn't belong to the Itagaki era. In this sense I'd be really happy if Ni Oh resurfaced out of the limbo.

Sigma compared to Black was a horrible revision of the first Ninja Gaiden. Sigma 2, while fixing a vast amount of the bugs and issues that NG2 had still didn't mask the fact that the combat design was still generally flawed. DOA5 was an unbalanced piece of shit, hence the creation of DOA5U.

I'm pretty sure having your game rushed by the higher ups would really piss off someone like Itagaki who cares a lOT about the NG franchise specifically. Yes DOA needed a new director because the path Itagaki was taking that series was pretty bad. Let's exclude DOA because DOA is fine. Ninja Gaiden will continue to be a trainwreck especially after the four titles Hayashi has directed is any proof. It's to the point that even Yaiba could be better than the trash he's been putting out.

I just want an NG with damn good combat and difficulty. I'm not getting that for a long time. I've come to accept that and just lower my expectations of anything NG-related coming out of them. Hell lowering my hype is actually giving me the optimism that Yaiba wont be a total fucking trainwreck like people are labeling it.

But yeah, it would certainty be an eyecandy game for next gen. Doa5 models, 1080p, AA and 60fps? I fear for the kittens.

Ont he tamer side, i'd settle for DOA 6 or even UDOA5+ at this point. NG4 could be nice, if they go back to NG2 design.

The creation of DoA5U just meant they had more stuff they wanted to do.
