I guess its good for a monitor but for a TV probably not so much. I read reviews that the 1080p performance isn't really good and it lacks a lot of options to fine tune the picture.

I just wish I could afford this beauty

All for the low price of $4999.99

I'm so waiting for the prices to get slashed by next year CES

If I can get at least a 70"+ model of the same from Sony for $5,000.00 I'll be fucking happy to buy it ASAP

Don't disappoint 2014!

Pretty impressive price this early in the 4K lifespan...but if it's only 30Hhz running at 4K, that's a no-go.

Still seems a bit early to jump on the 4K bandwagon, but if/when the content starts showing up, it looks like the price of the TVs themselves should be a fairly reasonable prices by then.

I'm in the same boat. I need a 70''+ model for around 4,000-5,000 before I would get one. Plus, there's no content for it right now.

Wow insane price. Even if the quality is just decent, it'd be a nice point of entry for testing the waters with 4K. I think i'll wait to see what their 65" model is though.

whats the point?(unless your using a pc monitor) there is literally like 0 4k content. so at best your up scaling.

What about images? Plus there is more and more native content coming quickly. Already a few video camera's that can shoot 4k content are coming, there are receivers that will upscale as well.

look at the difference at native 480p DVD content and then upscaled to 1080i.

But I agree, at that size, it's kind of a waste. Wait till you see an 84" running native content though. And then, in about another 5-6 years, we'll start to see more of 8k televisions.

As a tech nerd, I'm happy to see 4K seem to actually be happening, but what the hell is the point if there's no content?

I could not use that as a monitor, at 30hz even the mouse feels sluggish. Just going to wait it out for them to put HDMI 2 in them.

At least they are becoming affordable now, which is nice to see.

Isn't HDMI 2.0 coming later this year? Once these get HDMI 2.0 I'd be interested. No real point to jump the boat till then.

Onix, can you recommend me a Pre/pro, I want to upgrade from my old Onkyo 705. I already have a 7x125 amp. Budget 500-1500.
I was waiting for Outlaw's new model that was cancelled.

we really need a home theater thread, we used to have one for TVs and i dont even know what happened to that one.

Sure I'll take looksie

[EDIT]

I guess it matters what features you need, but the Integra DHC-40.2 looks to be right up your alley - http://www.hometheater.com/content/integra-dhc-402-surround-processor

I haven't read up on it, but the Marantz AV7701 may also be a good option? I'll have to check some reviews - http://www.avsforum.com/t/1412965/marantz-av7701-prepro-official-owners-thread

Last year's model is available refurbished on the cheap if the specs are what you want!!!! - http://www.accessories4less.com/mak...-AV7005-Networking-AV-Preamp/Processor/1.html (and for reference, I'm using refurbished Marantz receivers in my living room and bedroom I got from accessories4less).

Obviously the used market is also a good way to go depending on what features you need. audiogon.com, etc.

That reminds me, I should sell my Integra 9.8. Whant it? lol

Yeah, if this had HDMI 2.0, I'd buy one day of release to replace my 37" Westinghouse 1080P display I use as a PC/gaming monitor.

Asus is coming out with a display based on this panel later this year. Should have a displayport, (60Hz) and be <$2k.
