My room is getting remodeled so I had to put it in my sisters room and their is no space for it on her desk. It has feet so I didn't think it would be a big deal. Please don't hate me!

Oh, I'm not. I was just always told to never do that. I keep my rig on the ground but on a wooden plank.

Thank you for putting "well I hate pc gaming because of the desk" to shame.

Knitoe knows what's up with his cases and monitors. My setup is pretty much a gimped version of his.

These pictures are a bit crap as the HTC One's camera is surprisingly crap but you can see how wide the 540 is here. Yes, my desk is absurdly cramped and messy.

I like both those Bit Fenix Prodigy setups! My next build is going to be a mini ATX. Just waiting for the right case to come out.

I know, its dusty. But this case is awesome. I haven't cleaned my rig out in over a year, and the dust level is pretty low considering. I guess the air flow in the case keeps dust to a minimum.

NZXT Phantom White/Red
Windows 7 Ultimate

Mid-2011 build, with a recent upgrade to the 7970. Should do me for a good two years yet, possibly more. The laptop is an Asus N56-VJ, which I got custom from Gentech. It's mostly an internet/media machine for me, but I do a little bit of gaming on it - Crusader Kings II more than anything else, which is good seeing as my last laptop couldn't handle the huge database.

CPU - Core i7 3630QM 2.4-3.4GHz
RAM - 16GB 1333MHz DDR3

Definitely thinking about the HAF XB case for a future build. Having direct fan intake to the CPU and GPU makes so much sense and I like it more than the Corsair 540.

Wut, you can remove the handles ?
Yeah, the handles are each attached via four Phillips-head screws (two on each side), so they're easily removed / reattached. I left the bottom handles alone since they're raising the case up to allow airflow to the PSU, but I didn't see much point to the top ones.

How are you liking the Impact? How's the onboard audio?
I can't say that I'm all that impressed with the audio solution. I think in the past, some of the Maximus boards used some sort of stripped down X-FI chip, but in this particular case, it's a beefed up Realtek. It's really a bit lacking for headphone usage -- sounds kind of congested / tinny, and lacking soundstage. It's merely adequate, but it at least lacks the interference "chirping" and "squealing" you sometimes hear with standard onboard audio, so the daughterboard layout seems to be doing its job. But then again, I'm comparing audio on a ~$200 motherboard to audio from a sound card (Xonar Essence) that cost $200 by itself, so it may not be a really fair comparison. I might start looking into USB DAC solutions...

The board though, has some really slick overclocking and diagnostic bells and whistles built into both the board itself as well as the IO panel, including an LCD display in the rear that shows POST codes at boot and CPU temps during normal ops. I need to brush up on Haswell OCing though -- not used tweaking multipliers to OC, instead of FSB frequencies.

Btw, love how tidy and spare the routing looks with that copper(?) tubing you're using. What are those black tubes though?

Got a BenQ XL2420T and an older secondary monitor on my desk, with Sennheiser 595 headphones (amped). If I turn my (comfy leather) chair around 90 degrees I'm facing a 32" Samsung TV with big Jamo 5.1 speakers connected to my Yamaha receiver.

Logitech G700 + SteelSeries 6Gv2 for the monitor setup, and a DualShock 4 over bluetooth for the home theater setup

I need to swap the tubing and clean out the loop next year ... Not really liking the prices of new GPUs at the moment. I don't think I'll upgrade anything anytime soon unless I suddenly want to build a Steambox. A G-Sync monitor with a VA/IPS panel would be nice though :)

What I did with my Prodigy is cut out a little spot to internally mount a NuForce uDAC 2, then just used a usb->internal header adapter. Might be something to think about doing with that 5.25" bay you want to use up. I still have the uDAC and can't even seem to give it away for free, so let me know if you want it.

The pipes are all copper, I just paint them to match the other painted stuff in the case.

No anti reflective matte makes for a much better image with nothing interfering with the clarity or darking of the image. If you're going to invest in a high end monitor might as well not distort or hide the image with a annoying coat of pixy dust. Obviously you need to control your lighting environment other wise you will get glare.

Herne, is that an Amiga and a C64 in the background?

They are indeed. Have an ACA1220/128MB hooked up to the Amiga, and a 1541 Ultimate II to the C64. All I need now is a connection for my C64 that won't give a too sharp image on the screen, showing up the 40 column lines :(

There are close to none glossy IPS monitors on the market (apart from some korean models) and very few TN though, the best being asus VG236HE.

Most monitors today, even high end ones, have light or hard anti-glare coating, which can be annoying if you are looking specifically to avoid it.
