Previously Sega. Now Nintendo.

I'm definitely a Nintendo fan but the Playstation line has been growing on me in the past few years.

Nintendo always seems to get me

The one that stands out for me is Sega. I was a Sega faithful all through the SMS > Genesis > Sega CD > 32X > Saturn > Dreamcast run. They pissed me off along the way quite a bit, but I stuck with 'em, mainly because they provided perhaps the most memorable arcade games ever made, and that often translated into crisp, tight, addictive, easily accessible and intuitive games at home.

But in the end, it's hard for me not to love all videogame systems for one reason or another, but Sega's stand out in my mind as providing me with the best experiences, so there you go.

Super Mario Bros. made me a gamer, so I guess I gravitate toward Nintendo. But, honestly, I just like to play games. The system is merely the medium, not the message.

I'm a huge Sony fan too. I love my PS2 and I own a PSP, I want it to succeed to get more and better games for it... but I'm gleeful everytime when I see the DS crushing the PSP in Japan. I feel weird -.-''

Nintendo, I guess. I mean, Sony platforms have more 'good' games, and so does MS to a lesser degree, but I find that I only truly enjoy about 1 AAA game out of 50. Yes, I'm bored and jaded. More than half the games I enjoy are still first-party Nintendo games, so, yeah. And Revolution sounds cool.

So, Nintendo +1!

Specific hardware bias:

N64 - I might have chosen the SNES, but I didn't get one until much later. Just barely edges out the PSX because that it came first and it provided some of the greatest multiplayer sessions that I've ever been a part of. It was my triumphant return to Nintendo after a number of years with just a Sega Genesis and a PC and when I first played it in 1996, it blew me away. I'd never seen anything like it before and the multiplayer offered by Goldeneye was simply unprecedented for me.

Specific company bias:

Despite being a multiplatform gamer [I have all four consoles from the past generation and plan on getting all three from the current one as well], Nintendo has a special place in my heart because they're the company that I grew up with. The NES was the first console that I ever really played and the N64 provided years of amazing gameplay experience, even if it did have droughts from time to time.

"PC" is not a specific form of hardware. It applies to far too many things and makes this more and more confusing.

The question is one of "which company's hardware are you most likely to buy on release" -- hence Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and "Other".

I still see Sony as a quality brand. I am especially happy with my PS1 and PS2. If this were the early 90s it would have been Nintendo.

I'd pay $100 more for a 360 if I knew it wouldn't crap out.

Even then, a reliable 360 would be worth less than $400 to me, hence me not buying one yet.

When the "My XBOX 360 died" thread falls back to page 10 or so on the forums, I know I'll be safe.

I have a fondness for many Nintendo games (but lesser than many), and a fondness for the company as a whole because I see them as the backbone of our industry, with Wii and DS and back with NES and GameBoy, too.

Truly revolutionary, keeping the industry full of life. (Read the article on Lost Garden about Nintendo's innovation)

Sega did well with the "cool" image, and so did Sony, I guess. MS does some good online stuff.
