Dude, grab some Sanyo Eneloops from Amazon. 4 AA's and a charger for £20 or less if you go with one of the merchants. Fucking awesome.

My packs are retardedly shortlived now and these babies come with massive GAF approval and seem to hold charge longer than my MS stuff ever did.
Are they really as good as their website suggests? I'm sick of my rechargable batteries losing their charge within a week if I don't use them, can Eneloops really hold a substantial amount of charge for a year? Amazing if so

I haven't had them anywhere close to a year, sorry :lol

Does Microsoft sell AA holders for the controller? Because I threw mine out when I bought charge kits two years ago.

Maybe a kind Gaffer or two has some spares lying around?

Chrono Trigger (DS) and MadWorld (Wii) are both £14.98 at Game.
A quick look about also found (among others), Bangai-O for £5.98, Big Bang Mini for £9.99, Dragon Quest V for £12.97, Henry Hatsworth for £12.98 and Rhythm Paradise for £17.99. Pretty much what other places have sold those at/sell them at but still, good prices.

GAME have got a sale on at the moment. There's some stupidly cheap stuff. Like, quite a few sub-£10 games sort of worth buying.

http://www.game.co.uk/lowdown.aspx?lid=7644&cm_sp=deals-_-topnav-_-wii

Can't be arsed going through everything and posting it, so have just been through some of the 360 stuff.

Eat Lead - £9.99 - http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Action/~r339511/Eat-Lead/
Viva Pinata - Trouble in Paradise - £9.99 - http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Action/~r334987/Viva-Pinata-Trouble-in-Paradise/
Ninja Gaiden 2 - £7.98 (out of stock, atm)
Stormrise - £12.98 (LOL) - http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Strategy/~r339546/Stormrise/
Dead Space - £12.98 - http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Action/Horror/~r334029/Dead-Space/
FEAR 2 - £14.98 - http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Action/FirstPersonShooter/~r335102/FEAR-2-Project-Origin/

A lot of it is preowned shit, so tread carefully.

Wii Music is £18, that's cheap, right? http://www.game.co.uk/Wii/Party/~r335911/Wii-Music-Wii-Balance-Board-Compatible/

Hey guys. My cousin is leaving London to visit us in Vancouver on the 8th. I have a friend here who wants Ashes Cricket 2009 on PS3 which comes out on the 7th. Do games come out on Fridays or is that the ship date? Was hoping to ask my cousin to pick it up.

Also, I just realized it's like 4AM there already so I'm cutting it close.

Games come out here on Fridays, no worries. Should be able to pick it up tomorrow. I also want it! I'll let it drop in price a bit first though :lol

It seems to be in stock now assuming that is what 'Available for Immediate Despatch' means. I have seen items change their status on a daily basis about 9 months ago so just keep checking (
I wonder if they do this to ensure the deal lasts for x days by limiting the amount of stock sold each day
)

I understand and read that topic full of people talking about them, but if I can buy just a replacement pack for a few quid sometime in the future I will do that for now. We do have a battery charger laying around but my young brother and nephew use the AA batteries for toys.

Does anyone know if I can buy XBL points in the UK and use them on a US Xbox 360 (Elite) while in the UK?

My XBL account was created in the UK if that makes a difference and does not have a debit / credit card associated with it. Also any general pointers for good XBL points deals in the UK would be much appreciated (provided i can use them on my Xbox :)

slightly odd on the games front, some are region locked (GTA4 - believe me its no fun finding this out when you get back from the shop and eagerly load up your new disc having cleared a few hours for extended playtime, I know I know I should check online and do so now) and some aren't (Gears 2 thank goodness).

You have to be a member of Makro to shop there, which means you have to be a business, and their prices are ex-VAT.

My mum is through her work. Makro is actually where i got my 360, i love Makro.

When I drove past Tesco I saw a big banner saying VAT off Games, I'm not sure how much the prices are usually but I want Call of Juarez.

If you have a UK account, UK points will work, even if your console is located elsewhere. If I'm understanding you right, you are in the UK with a UK account on a US Xbox, correct? UK points will work in that case.

Game discs, however, work based on the region of the console, not the account.

Just browsing GAME's sale

Too Human £4.98 (save £40.01) - http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Action/Adventure/~r326934/Too-Human/ Now theres no excuse not to at least try it, CEX buy it for £3 or give exchange value of £4 so your not loosing much if you do want to get rid of it in the end!

Play.com have a sale also, something that i bought is

Wii Speak £9.99 saving about £20 - http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/8518275/Wii-Speak/Product.html
Buy it and the game seperate and your saving about a tenner on the bundled edition! then again buy AC from GAME as its on sale for cheaper even yet!

thanks Willeth, I have a US Xbox but I created my XBL account that I use while my Xbox was connected to the Internet in the UK and it has only ever been used from the UK. I guess my next question would be is there any way to tell which region XBL / MS think my account is from?

It reads the region from your address which is listed on the MSN passport/hotmail account you used to setup your XBL account.

Anyone know of any good deals either in-store (UK) or online for the 360 Elite? My boss is buying one for her partner and asked my advice. The best I've seen so far is probably Gamestation's offer for an Elite, with either Tiger Woods or FNR4 plus an extra controller for £239.99. Anyone seen any better?

Does anyone know any good deals for 2100 Microsoft points? I'm thinking of picking up Shadow Complex next week among other stuff.

the infamous Shopto has Overlord 2 for £12.79. That went under 15 fast.

Also does anyone know if the Hut will require me to prove the credit card address before they charge my pre-order? What I mean is do they check the card at the time I preordered or when they charge it? I had to already cancel my order from Zavvi because of that (emailing a copy of credit card is a no for me) and it would suck if they'd do the same with my Arkham Asylum pre-order.

I didn't have to when I ordered from The Hut, but then I've never had to do the same with Zavvi either. I wonder if there's something specific to you that's prompting it? Like location or method of payment?

I first ordered Star Ocean for 360 which they charged and dispatched to me without problem. The next day I decided to pick some cheap ps3 games to trade-in at Gamestop. After this order they sent me an email about requiring a copy of the credit card or bank statement. It could be that it seemed fishy to them that I ordered those so close or because the card (it's Visa) is expiring in september. I've ordered from Play, shopto and Game before without problems.

That's tempting and since they accept PayPal I'm safe from any fraud attempt, am I correct ?

Should be, of course presuming that no-one hacks your PayPal account but that's got nothing to do with Shopto.

Interestingly, seems I had a few problems ordering Tales of Vesperia from Shopto. Barclays rejected the transaction when I tried to pay directly (as I'd forgotten my PayPal details at the time) and I thought that I'd just put my card details in wrong. But I've just had an e-mail from PayPal (who I eventually paid through) telling me that the bank wouldn't authorise Shopto to take the money from my account so they'd had to pay it through my card details or something along those lines.

Very strange. Not like I mind, I still got Vesperia for under £20 which makes me very happy indeed.
