Made by one modder in over 2 years time. Great little thing to play through if you're craving for some more of that quality HL2 content.

how do you get out of the halway where you get the combine assualt rifle? I couldn't get the door to unlock (the one with the wiered half-gravitygun/car-battery on the lock so I noclipped past it) what was I supposed to do?

To get through those doors you have to hold the use key on the apparatus attached to the lock until the lock breaks.

Anyway, I thought the mod was absolutely fantastic over all and I have to agree the final area was stunning. It was so invigorating when I climbed to the top of the building and gravity jumped onto the container being held on the crane, then jumped to the top of the outpost to find more rocket ammo. And having the walls of the buildings get busted through by strider cannons and having combine rush in was incredible too. Great work. Half-Life 2 mods are as usual, some of the best.

So far, this is pretty cool, but it runs horribly for some reason. I haven't seen a Source engine mod run badly in a long time.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Extremely short, but very, very good. Gorgeous, inventive use of the standard Half-Life 2 mechanics (with a cool trick or two of its own), well paced with a sense of density to the environment and encounter design. Smart, simple environment puzzling here and there. Final encounter is as good as it gets for Half-Life.

Dude is talented to say at the least. This really is the best folio pitch you could possibly have.

Even the site is awesome.

Finally got to visit it since it's no longer getting hugged to death.

Wow that's awesome, I wonder how often something like this happens where a modder gets a professional job offer for their work.

All the time. Game industry doesn't care about your degree, only portfolios. (Not saying a degree wouldn't help a resume however.)

Pretty much, and this can be said for more or less any creativity driven industry. Degree and career experience is important in the sense that it shows you're capable of working in a professional environment (given deadlines, working in teams, etc). But actual skill and talent is almost exclusively dependant on your portfolio. Walk into an an interview with something like this despite having dropped out of school with zero qualifications under your belt and nobody will give a fuck. You'll smoke the competition.

Downloaded and played through....it's pretty short. I wasn't overly impressed tbh, I found the Rocket jump-like mechanic with the gravity gun to be a bit laborious .

A few years old now, but I thought the Mission Improbable mod for HL2 to be far superior

enjoyable mod, nowhere near the best source mod but still good. loved the rocket jumping, the mod has serious optimisation issues though, gpu usage drops to 30% and it suddenly drops from 4k 60fps to 25-30 (on a titan x), probably the best looking dx9 source game though, perhaps he just pushed it to its limits

I've had a good time with Half Life 2 mods in the past, but this one sort of highlights how far we've come since Half Life 2 Episode 2. I don't know if I even want to play in that world with those old sound effects and enemies any more. A new Valve produced Half Life would have to be so far removed from what it was for me to get excited.

Change aspect ratio to 16:9 and the resolution should become available. Quirk of Source.

Nice, im going to download it later.
What about those guys that were working with Valve and previously did Black Mesa? What are they doing now?

And how is that supposed to happen given Ep2's ending? Gordon just wakes up in the future/other dimension because G-Man? Valve certainly backed themselves into a corner with the delay. The only way I can see a big shift happening is once they reach the Borealis.Maybe it brings them to the Combine Overworld or something. Otherwise it's just going to be the old enemies with graphical upgrades.
