Too bad it's always online even in single player. Single player mode dies whenever there's maintenance, DDOS attacks, or EA shuts off the servers as they do. That sucks and is why I can't say yes to it so far. Single player which they've already said doesn't actually require you to have any online features active still makes you need an active connection for it to work? No thanks

experienced all I needed to in the Beta.....it got really repetitive and boring fast. The whole online portion is pretty bullshit to me and was honestly not needed in what I played.

The dialogue is usually terrible in NFS but it was at an all-time low in Rivals, man that shit was terrible. For those who played the beta, how is the driving/gameplay?

Just got informed I am getting a review copy and I have to admit I am a bit more excited about this than I am some of the other game this week and in the next couple getting released.

Need for Speed is like the NBA Live of the racing world but just a little better. Needs to go away in my opinion.

I enjoyed rivals for what it was (evidently some people didn't). For those who've played the beta of this how does it look?

I'm not really asking for much and have reasonable faith in Ghost making something decent, so unless there is something horribly wrong with the game I'm sure I'll quite like it.

A game going Gold now means absolutely nothing now. I don't think it'll be unplayable at launch but I expect disappointment. I'll take a ban bet on this having a massive Day One patch

Yeah, as long as it's not totally shitty like The Run was I'll be reasonably happy as well. Rivals was ok and it filled the need for an arcade racer. Not having a NFS last year kinda sucked, hope they did a decent job this year.

Had a lot of fun, after a rough start. Cinematics were great imo. Loved the way the game looks. Framerate in the PS4 demo worried me. Hope they'll be able to lock it at 30.

Ghost Games, but Ghost Games UK (one of three studios on this game) is comprised of much of Criterion's old staff prior to their shrink down.

Criterion itself is working on a GoPro style stunt racing game with a variety of vehicle types.

Thats good to know that people from the old Criterion are working on it. I actually enjoyed all of their games especially Hot Pursuit. So much fun.

I'm looking forward to it and not that bothered about always online but considering that it is always online, it seemingly not having any PvP multiplayer(outside challenging a single player to a 1v1 race) is completely baffling.
I'm assuming that because there was no PvP in the beta and no multiplayer trophies.
I hope I'm wrong :/

The beta was a turn off for me. I loved the car porn aspect but not the driving.

I'll play it when EA adds it to the vault, but I think I'm going to go with Wild Run for my arcade racing fix.
