Good question. I think it's likely new, but given that we are still stuck in filler land with Naruto I'm not sure what to think.

A while back I heard that 3 and 4 would be moved to Wii for the US releases. Sounds like maybe this is the same thing, a compilation.

Possibly, but what would be the point? American Naruto hasn't even really gotten past the Chuunin exams yet. And at the rate they're going, I think we can be rest assured that the whole thing involving the Sound 5 won't be for another 2-3 seasons at the LEAST. So while it would be a good thing to announce, it doesn't really seem to be a lot of point for the Japanese/subber part of the Naruto demographic, who's really waiting for the next bonafide game. Of course, even there, there's probably going to be a few complaints unless this one does things like add in Kakashi Gaiden and such...

Hot. Hopefully 8ing's handling both games.

DS should be able to crank out a pretty mean cellshaded fighter. 8ing rocked PSone with Bloody Roar 1-2 so I've got faith in them to deliver.


But yeah, Namco/SEGA/Tecmo need to get on the ball. DS could handle any of the great 32bit fighters in it's sleep, so where's my VF2/FMM/DOA/Soul Calibur?

The GNT games have ALWAYS followed the anime, while the Narultimate games are a bit more loose and can adapt manga concepts. Part II still hasn't aired, although typically the GNT games come out in late November so we can hope the fillers will be done by then.

The only thing I'm worried about is that in the manga we still haven't seen a lot of characters do stuff post time jump. Also, there's no way Hidan/Kazaku would be in there, way too far ahead.

I just want a fixed character selection screen, as the ring in GNT4 was both slow and clunky. Also, d-pad support. And please bring back the smaller ball at 75% chakra to let us know we can kawarimi. Sometimes it's hard to tell in GNT4.

Honestly I have a lot more fun playing the games from the Narutimate series than with GNT, although both are fun. It's probably the similarities to SSBM that make me love it more, or it could be the closer ties with the manga as opposed to the anime which I can't even stomach anymore.
