Nintendo WFC Online Activity (W/E September 30th)

After Madden Wii did well on the Chart, we were looking forward to the release of FIFA, the next EA sports game, which featured an online mode for Wii. So far, it's good. It's #12 on this weeks chart, and has been doing an averaging number of connections above 10,000 since release in Europe alone. Next week should be interesting.
Don't forget, though, today marks the release of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. The game has previously been on the Top 10, when it was released in Japan. Can the US-launch boost it up there once more? Time will tell.

The complete chart for week 39 of 2007 can be seen underneath.

Please note

- The number of connections listed in here is not unique connections, just the total number of connections for the service during the past week.

- These data are straight off of Nintendo's Wi-Fi site, through the freeware program WFCStatus.

- A Top 75 was released three weeks ago by me. To see it for, click here.

---------------------This weeks Top 10---------------------

Hm, I was expecting a bit higher.

Should be able to crack the Top 10 once it's released in the U.S. though.

The game was only released thursday in Europe and thus had a half week to reach the list. #12 isn't bad at all. It has been averaging at 10k since release, should be able to reach the list next week :)

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. That's not bad at all then for a few days of release.

I hope so, that would make the interactive leauge actually playeble. There is no problem finding opponents though.

I'd like to see Picross DS. I wonder if people are actually downloading the classic packs that are available.

16,612 connections for Picross DS for the week ending September 30th. Pretty good, I'd say.

Interesting connections for wednesday:

NBA Live 2008 - 1,585 connections

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - 11,534 connections
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 - 2,070 connections*

How well are the FIFA-games usually doing in America? Might give it an extra boost when (soon) released there. Looks like we have three potential new games to enter the Top 10 next week, FIFA, Zelda and Dragon Ball Z :)

What happened with NBA Live 08? I remember the videos that were released looked horrendous. Haven't heard anything about it since then. Any reviews?

Yes, see the release list in the OP. The game was released in Japan yesterday. I was expecting quite a bit from it, seeing as the previous game in the series did quite well for Wii in Japan. It's looking good, going by the number of connections.

Huh, not bad. Will be very interesting to the sales. I still think that the PS2 version will beat the Wii version, online is not a big selling point in Japan, whereas the unlocking thing with the former games probably makes this very interesting for the fanbase.

I think it looks like Phantom Hourglass (topped 20k connections yesterday :D) and FIFA 2008 might reach the Top 10 this week. Zelda is certain, not too sure about FIFA. Thankfully this is the week where I post the Top 75, so we'll see how the other games (mainly NBA Live and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3) will fare as well.

And one last thing, I only just got hold of the code for Race Driver: Create and Race, released in Europe last week. So for the week ending September 30th, we had these data for that game: 3,244 connections.

Hopefully the game will actually make it into the UK DS Top 30 in tomorrow's Chart Track update. It's a fantastic game and even the online connection is perfectly stable! Would be a shame to see it fade away so quickly...
