Okay been doing shitty these last couple of days hopefully I work this out better.

Edit: Bumping up the psp since A Master Ninja is sure that it may have a half way decent sales bump.

I get the sense that most everyone is lowballing the PSP. It had CRAZY Black Friday sales. $129 got you a PSP-3000, memory stick, LBP, and a movie.

Well, I think there is a possibility that the PSP did better than most people thought. It had the GoW:GoS bundle and another one (Madden?) and the ASP for the PSP last month suggests that bundles are mostly what people are buying nowadays.

If 360 can't break 1 million in the Kinect launch month then there is something amiss.

360 has been hitting YOY increases all year, and I've made an assumption that Kinect is going to push it by an extra 200k.

It's a wildcard though.

Remember the NPD thread last November? There was all kinds of ruckus about the 360's performance. Trying to explain it away (some reasonings becoming bannable in that thread) became a pasttime. The reasoning was that PS3 was > 360 the previous two months (Slim launch), so many couldn't fathom why the sudden increase in November.

This year's thread ought to be fun, too. :)

Yeah but stores didn't have very many of those, and the regular bundles weren't discounted.

I see Pachter at 1.1 for the 360 per this article not that 25k is that much difference. Looks like I may have short changed PSP just a bit and DS maybe a little over other than that not too bad.

Anyhow, thinking there could be some large gaps in December between Wii and PS3 and 360 and PS3. Wii did what 4 million last year? I think at this point 3 maybe possible, but also think it could come well under that.

I just double checked. The figure is indeed 1.075 in the table I was reading from. Both are right in the sense that 1.075 rounded is 1.1.

Gotcha. Averageing out GAF+WS+EED I'm getting;

DS: 1.415 M
Wii: 1.048 M
360: 1.031 M
PS3: 694K
PSP: 200K


Race to the bitter end this year.

Pachter providing some SW estimates here;

Pachter also believes that consumers bought $700 million worth of Xbox 360 games, easily besting the PlayStation 3's $395 million in software sales. If those figures hold up, Microsoft and Sony would see 36 percent and 48 percent gains on software sales, respectively. The Wii, on the other hand, would see a 31 percent decline year over year with just $280 million in game sales during the month
