Well the benefit of reading every stupid agreement or step you accept is that you don't enable things you don't want, hence I didn't had this on =D (that or I had a peek into options and disable it)
Anyway, I'm always logged out of everything but forums, and I only log in when in need of a service (Twitter, G+, Gmail, Hotmail, etc), so I guess I'm always "anonymously" (although my chrome PC cookies are preserved) doing searches.
Anyway, interesting that such an option existed! At least I learned that!

edit: fuuck, I had shit going back all the way to 06! It's crazy they were tracking my info this long without my knowledge. I'm pretty sure this wasn't a feature they had options for or were touting five years ago..

Today I found out you can set the number of search results, as well as the ability to open search result links in a new tab.
You will be able to erase it later on. The thing that's happening today is the your search history is going to be tied to every other facet of your account e.g. youtube, music, +, etc. So if your search has a bunch of stuff about dolphins, the next time you open youtube, the suggestions will be now also be partially based on your search history.

Yep same, and I checked across the 3 Google accounts I have, never had this enabled from the start.
