lololol
If SmokyDave is a console warrior, I'd say he could be one hell of a general.
Dude, SmokyDave was on a roll before he got banned. Some, quite humorous.
You seem to have mistakenly posted a PS1 screenshot in the OP. Just a heads up.
There's no way I'm buying a PC just for late ports of indies I can already play elsewhere.
The PC one is my favorite. I think it's "cute".

FFX HD Vita is $40 right? No $5 discount?

lol what game was the late PC port a response to?

I'm sure it's already been posted, but forma.8 looks so good to me: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/02/28/sci-fi-adventure-forma-8-coming-to-ps4-and-ps-vita/#comment-953606

Gravity Crash x Pixel Junk Shooter x Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet

I'm down.

Haha, so I wasn't the only one who was reminded of Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet! So many good indies announced this week.

It just bugs me that there are always people commenting that these types of games should be on mobile. There's nothing wrong with mobile games, but it's pretty insulting to tell a developer their game doesn't belong on consoles.

Nier is a horrible game. The combat is stale, the story is thin, the world/map layout is pretty confusing. And almost worst of all, I'm pretty sure God of War 2 looks better than it does. Probably just not gonna play it anymore because it's so boring.

In my mind games, I always end up making damn towers. Columns of 2-9-0-9-2 or so. Which leaves me with random spikes of varying length all over the field. And then those damn

XO
OX

Blocks just kill me every time.
Look here, Kappa.

Don't make me get into this Nier thing again :p.

DAMN YOU BANDAI NAMCO...
DAMN YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...

I was all set that I would not buy SRW Z3 at launch.

THEN YOU RELEASE THAT FUCKING NEW TRAILER. AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Dat Z Gundam.
Dat Nu Gundam/Sazabi.
Dat Sinanju/RX-0
Dat Big O.
Dat Gunbuster
<3 Asuka

AND HOLY SHIT THAT KOENIG MONSTER. AHAHAHAHAHAHA.
But why is the Ranka side shown when it shoots? SHERYL >>>>>> RANKA!

That Fin Funnel was good, but I doubt it'll ever beat SRW ZII's Fin Funnel -> Last Shooting. That shit was awesome.

Not really impressed with ARX-7 animation, though.
GIVE ME ARX-8 LEVATAIN in Z3-2. D8<

I'm not all too thrilled about Gundam 00 "I Was a Gundam But then I Turned Into a Flower" movie. The movie was unsatisfying with its shoot everything, anything scenes. Hopefully, Banpresto did come up with something more substantial. :/

And I need more money.

03/20 : Dekamori Senran Kagura
03/27 : Project Diva 2ndF
04/10 : Super Robot Wars ZIII

I got Wombo-Combo'd. T______T

I grew up on 2D games. It's what made me love gaming in the first place. I'll never understand people, especially from my generation, that are down on 2D, indie etc my top 25 games of all time are still mostly 90's releases, but imo great 2D gaming is better than it's ever been.

Ya I was pretty hype last night too. Now it's just a matter of whether I should get the physical version day one or wait for impressions and info on what exactly they compressed to get it to fit onto the cart. Might still have to get the digital version if it turns out bad.

Haha, that Dave quote is gold.

On the topic of olliolli, I finally unlocked RAD mode, destroyed my right hand in the process doing the helicopter challenge on the 3rd pro level in Neon City, but it feels good, and I'm very satisfied with myself

Valid concern, but...

Of course, I'm only assuming based on stuff here, but I doubt there's any difference between the two coz that means they need to maintain three versions of the game now. QA would still needs to be done on both Vita version if they have different stuff. There was no delay or anything, and it seems the game is still set for April.

So it's either Sony chugged out higher cards or Bandai Namco lied that the game had space issues coz they wanted to cheap out (+no resell).

Right, I don't mean content compression/cutting, but rather data compression. Like any FMVs or audio files would probably be the first thing to get compressed. Wouldn't care too much about the FMVs but hot blooded shouts sounding like they're coming out of a tin can would be terrible. Other than that compression elsewhere could lead to slow loading times as well. If there's a noticeable load on any menu or switching of screens I'd ditch the physical copy for digital immediately.

Man, sometimes I really wonder how the hell sony convinced indie to release their games for vita. It's no secret that vita hardware sales are really struggling in the west, it sell kinda decent in japan, but the japan userbase probably didn't buy many western indie games. So the potential customer for these indies are maybe even smaller than the total vita hardware number out there.

Like Masterballs said, Sony push indies on all of their platform, not just Vita. Vita is like a bonus if the said devs want to try with handheld platform. Also the software attach rate of Vita is really astounding, and Vita owner loves to buy games for their handheld. The user base might miniscule compared to 3DS, but its niche group know what's up and usually buy indies.

Been playing Strider... wanted to wait til I have a PS4 to buy it, but couldn't resist. I have to run it in 640x480 on my laptop to keep it moving fast, though.

When it sometimes boots up windowed and tiny... god I would love to own and play this on my Vita.

Update for anyone interested in/cares about Vitas from CowBoom.

I ordered a Grade 7 late Monday night. I used the free shipping method (7-10 business days) and it arrived today.

It came in the original box (box was 100% undamaged) with all the cables and the owners manual. The owners manual was still sealed in unopened factory plastic.

The Vita was flawless. No scratches, smudges or fingerprints. It powered up right away and is beautiful.

I'm not even sure it was ever taken out of the box in the first place.

System updated and I'm now downloading PS+ titles.

Quick question - any accessories you guys suggest as being must haves? Grips, screen protectors, etc?

Edit: I think I'm in love...can't believe I waited so long to buy one.
I really like the portable charger from Sony. It is good for travelling.

Looks exactly like Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet

Way to read email tags, Gir !!

I'll always respect Curve and Futurlab for treating the Vita right.

WTF I totally forgot this was releasing. Day 1... If I still have left over money from March...

Big Sky Infinity was great. One of the most underrated games on Vita. I like it more than Super Stardust Delta. It was my go to score attack game for a long time. I think the game was better before it was patched though. The patch severely toned down the frequency of the voice. I'm guessing they did that because it annoyed people? I loved it. It was funny. It was cool how the patch added new content to the game for free though.
I actually really like that game. Maybe my 3rd most played Vita game behind Pinball Arcade & Zen Pinball 2. Never deleting it.

It does look really simple, but does the job and is really addictive and easy to play when too much is on your mind to play something more substantial. It does seem to not have enough surprises after awhile, but I still dig it. I got Really Big Sky cheap on Steam, it's different enough to warrant playing, but still more of the same good formula.

"Snaaaaaaake!"
Agree on all points. Though I like SSD more, Big Sky is a blast still. Those black hole levels could get your points skyyyyy high if your multiplier was up there. I could go for a new installment, and sadly my laptop likely wouldn't play Really Big Sky D;

No no no. Completely different studios. Though, a Curve/Futurlab game would be the most Native Res/60fps Vita game of all time.

I played up to where you meet Laura Bailey. So like... 4 hours?
Does that mean we get to play TLoU now?
Totally.

Surprisingly ridge racer still has people playing online. I just played three races and it was ridiculously fun. It's a shame the game is so empty, there's some interesting stuff going on with this game.

Okay, so played the Gravity Rush demo and absolutely love it. Fuck it, resubbing to PS+.

Resubbing? What blasphemy is this?

Both versions are practically identical. The vita does have some minor slowdown during really intense action, but it also has better controls for picking up items and loot.

The only real downside to the Vita version is the slowdown if you mind it in this kind of game (but I still think it fits -- it's like Super House of Dead Ninjas where you can turn slowdown off, but they made it a part of the game by default) and the fact that you don't get to see the ridiculously phenomenal art on a large TV.
