Pretty good that they added the choice of color, wasn't really feeling the original visuals. Looks like an interesting game.

This looks great. And for those on Steam who want to pay in USD, you can do so on their own site for 17.99 USD rather than the 17.99 EUR they're asking for on Steam.

These guys made some of the best FPS games of all time, I will definitely support them. The combat and AI look a bit simple, but the setting looks pretty interesting and it seems they are incorporating more mechanics than your typical FPS fare.

I honestly gave up on the game once they gave the option to gut the artstyle. You know, if they're willing to compromise the game and their vision that much It made me much less confident going forward with their ability to make the final game something great. One might argue that options are good because reasons, but I disagree with that sentiment entirely, and especially for the indie scene. If I want something safe that does nothing but beat down the same tune countless others have before, so that copious amounts of people in the mass market could enjoy it, I would buy an AAA game. If I want something super concentrated and interesting, even if flawed, that refuses, and as a result of the scene doesn't NEED to compromise as the barometer for success is much lower compared to your super massive AAA(A) games, I buy an indie game.

To concentrate my opinion on that choice down to a few sentences, I guess I would say that this game was obviously developed by exAAA developers, and it shows with their willingness to compromise anything and everything for the sake of reaching a wider audience rather than sticking to their vision and creating something truly unique and fascinating, and that's why I don't feel compelled to support it. Sorry :\

Or you could, you know, not turn on the colour.

I feel it's more like how you can turn up the gamma in every horror game until it's bright as daytime as well. It clearly ruins what they were going for, so just don't do that. Problem solved.

So what is the reason for the stark contrast B&W? Is it like SABOTEUR where the world turns more colorful the more you free/explore?

Such a stark B&W contrast is not nice for the eyes at all. French CG movie RENAISSANCE also tried to pass it off as a unique selling point and it was just too much. You need some gradients and actual light in there so the eye can easily read features.

I get migraines, so that art style is a nightmare on its own.

You can adjust the contrast and saturation to your liking.

Completely missed the point of my post there champ.

No, I got your point, sport.

Most likely the visual style gave some people headaches so this option lets those people play it, even if it's slightly less than optimal.

It doesn't affect your enjoyment of the game at all since you can just not use it, and I find it incredibly silly to jump to conclusions about the artistic integrity of the developers with so little to go on.

When I was in tech school I wanted to make a game like this, but have it be set in Salem, MA with witch trials and demons coming out of the lakes and stuff. I bought this and have some high hopes about it. Hopefully they didn't fail on every level possible.

Edit: Started 15-20 minutes in. Very dry start, everything looks good, hopefully there's a lot to explore. It's no Skyrim, but I can see it being entertaining for a single play through. I think there's games like TES and Fallout 3 that have done this on a larger scale (they've done it real well). It feels like you were thrown into Skyrim somewhere 2 hours in, with a mod for colour with less to do. I think we've just been spoiled in terms of games with content.

Getting terrible performance with this on my 560ti. Can only get a consistent 60fps at the lowest settings. Anyone else had problems with this?
