I'm going to buy the Wii U once Mario Kart 8 drops.

Let's hope that a lot of people will do the same, for Wii U's sake.

I still don't see the console selling more than 15mln units when all is said and done, tho

this is pretty much what everyone is waiting for. literally.

Those WiiU and Vita numbers...yikes. What's the bare minimum in monthly sales before we can consider a device "dead"? 10k? 50k? Does it not matter as long as it's selling something?

nah its pretty bad. march should be a huge month for all 3 1st parties so then end the fiscal on a high note.

traditionally, february is the strongest month out of the first quarter of a calendar year. at least, it's stronger than march. march is almost always a dropoff from february.

The problem with systems that are perceived failures is also how strong the used market for those systems becomes, which limits sales of new consoles. Right now in San Diego on Craigslist I can find a plethora of Wii-U systems and Vita systems with lots of games for dirt cheap. Why would I buy a system new if there are deals like this from people who are no longer happy with their purchase?

It's where I got my $120 Vita with game and memory card and case and plastic addon that makes it more comfortable to hold.

Gibson tweeted 208k for FFX/X-2 HD.

So ~166.4k for PS3. and ~41.6k for Vita?
(Using sugar's 4/1 ratio)

Plus any digital boost.

I think Halo and Gears might still get MS a decent bump, but I'm not sure they're as big a deal as they were without the original developers. MS can still buy exclusives, hard to see what they'd pick though and if they start now, the games could be a few years away. Those hardware sales are making exclusivity deals more expensive all the time as well.

Mind blowing that they look to have thrown a generation away. As soon as people saw that E3 presentation, most people knew they had some terrible ideas. I don't even think the lack of power would have been too much of a problem, but making it more expensive because of Kinect (which they didn't even have faith in at that stage) and then messing up the OS with their always on-line fantasy was madness.

I look forward to the book detailing all the internal decisions, going to be amazing.

So from my brief combing.

Amirox is a legend
MS is in a pickle
Vita reached a new low in the US
Gifs are still alive and kicking

This is awesome!

But seriously Vita, get your shit together over here :/ never going to happen, I know, but man can dream.

while this use to be true. all the major studios push for heavy AAA for march. end strong for the portfolio and start good with investor relations.

Im not surprised at all ps4 sold more than x1, I am very surprised that it sales decreased ( on a weekly basis) compared to Feb. That just doesnt make sense, seeing how their biggest game came out in march, and they had a price cut (in some stores) and bundled a game for free.

Did Sony say anything about localizing any Japanese games here. So long as they keep doing that I'll be happy. Going to finally buy the Vita when the Borderlands bundle comes out.

Well, PS4's can still be a hassle to find, it's crazy. And without a true big title. I don't think ISS fits that bill, but that's a totally different story.
WiiU and Vita, d.e.d. dead.
XB1 is still doing OK numbers I guess, but it's pretty much over. TF was their ace and it folded at moving consoles, unless it did "pre-sell consoles" before it's release. They need to maximize profits, don't even think about taking first back, it's over. Either that, or if they decide to stick in the console game next gen, perhaps rebuild the goodwill they utterly and totally lost with consumers.

Come on America, these Vita numbers are sad, that's the Europe numbers for a week (I don't even talk about Japon). Do you have something against life? :-(

Yeah same for me, it's just so sad to see the rest of the world noticing the Vita's gorgeous luster, and the US once again lagging behind. But yes, keep the localizations coming, and I'm a happy camper :)

What do people consider a "true big title" from Sony studios? As acclaimed as games like Uncharted and TLoU were, I don't see them as major system movers like Halo or Gears. Sony game systems don't really rely on that singular "must have" game and instead rely on putting out great games across all genres. Then letting the depth of their overall library sell game systems.

Why do people keep looking for this one singular game that will compel people to buy a PS4? When was the last time Sony's game systems operated in that way? They don't have that "Mario" or "Halo" game. They don't even use Crash Bandicoot anymore. Uncharted started this gen. What PS2 franchises are they still milking?

They simply don't make the same iconic franchises that iterate again and again and again. And that's not a bad thing at all, so don't think that's what I'm saying. I'm just saying stop looking for a singular game to be some "silver bullet" for Sony.

Woke up to this and definitely the best wakeup for me, wonder if MS gets a wake up call...Legit shook.

It would definitely be interesting to see Titanfall numbers if PC sales are taken away...

Was really thinking that Xbox One might just take the edge in March with Titanfall, but I guess I was right that Titanfall is just overhyped. Played it on PC and the charm was only initial.

So...Will Microsoft now offer a year's supply of Mountain Dew with Xbox One purchases followed by a price drop?

Well Microsoft was willing to tell us that they sold 1.4 million games on XBO this past month. So what percentage of those 1.4 million games do you think were Titanfall?

It got discontinued right after ~400K?
Was it going for really cheap and funds had run out?

Yeah, pretty much. Dreamcast was $150 during holiday 2000. $99 after discontinuation. It eventually wound up with something like 4.25 million sold in the US.

They were already reacting by E3, it was basically a show of software, I think you are confused with the earlier reveal. Since the 360 was a very succesful console to be outselling it by 60% whilst being so much more expensive is pretty good in my book. The PS4 is just amazing to be outstripping the Wii at the same point.

Best news though is that console gaming is far from finished, the dire Wii U sales sort of added to the theory that console gaming was in trouble but we now know it was nobody wanted a Wii U. Stick a fork in Vita though it's done.
