I think I'm The Hound in this one. Surely they are many of you just laughing maniacally.

LOL Golden.

Given the gravitas of the tone and the position of these two people, it does seem pretty official. I'm not sure the Editor in Chief would post something like this without adding "rumour" if they weren't confident about it.

Yea.

It's official.

No matter how good their E3 is tomorrow, this news will overshadow pretty much
anything for the next few months.

That's fucking weird. With retweets and stuff. Pretty sure that IGN.com's news are coming from russian IGN, which is "holy fuck what did i just read?". And ruIGN article is just a write-up from the words of two journos. I wouldn't say i don't trust them, they are alright guys but damn, news this big coming from them? But that's the old story alright.

Holy shit those retweets. I never was hyped for The Last Guardian, but it was really interesting project. Hopefully they will make something different then.
P.S. Love the subtitle.

So. Shuhei Yoshida resign? Yay or Nay?

So far this year.

Naughty Dog loses one of the best creative forces in the industry as well as a game director mid project
Cancelled a new IP with $100m already spent at SSM. 50 long time staff fired
Launch game Driveclub delayed a full year
Guerrilla games has been working on a new IP for 3 years that "isnt ready to show" and who knows if it will even see the light of day
The Last Guardian killed after 8 years in development

Thats a lot of expensive cockups. I dont know about you but IMO heads must roll.

A huge FU to Sony for continuing to egg us on saying the game was in still in development and making good progress.

Seriously, go fuck yourself.

Oh wow. Its so shocking it's sort of funny. Was pretty certain this would be the year it would be shown at Sony's presser.

Welp.

Video game "journalists" reporting Russian tweets as fact. And people say 24/7 TV news is bad. Holy fuck if this turns out to be false who ever ran that article should get fired.

I have decided not to believe this till Sony say so. :(

also, it might have been canceled for PS3. not PS4 lol

gotta believe

And thus the thread title:

"The Last Guardian cancelled - Stage One: Denial"

Same people posted the lies about Druckman and Henning.

Well this sucks, but I figured it was inevitable. Ueda really was the vision behind this game, and his departure + constant delays signaled something to me. At least Shadow of the Colossus is gonna last.

RIP in peace.

I never hoped for it, though it would have been a nice surprise. Hopefully team Ico works on something new.

There's no Team ICO. Ueda is not a Sony employee. He's contracted to finish TLG. If the project is dead, I don't see a reason why Sony should fund another one.

I feel like we should have known this would happen. When the change from PS3 to PS4 happened, it should have been the death knell. Sony told us they couldn't do backwards compatibility from 3 to 4 because of the architecture of the systems.

Fine, I understand that, and am ok with that. TLOU team says going from 3 to 4 was nothing short of a bear (paraphrasing), how would Team ICO be able to figure that mess out if they couldn't scrape anything together after announcing it forever ago.
