New Killer instinct season 2 character: Maya

I'd say it'll be four returning four new too. Riptor/Tusk/Maya/Cinder for Season 2. Dunno if they'll touch Kim Wu, I'd rather have four new characters instead.
EDIT - Forgot to add TJ in there. So I guess five returning three new?

Anyone else think it's funny that a character that is Inca in origin is named Maya?
Naaa, I'm not sure how tight gym shots and a midriff top made classic TJ such a superior design to modern TJ. And then KI 2... the pants were an improvement... But they eyepatch wasn't all that special on him. Heidern, Sagat? Cool. TJ? Meh.
And even as a fan of old Thunder back in the day, I really like Modern Thunder better, too.
Anywho, I'm glad we're going to see a Jungle Stage, as well. Been wanting one of those in this game.

I was surprised they didn't give him a bit of an update, seeing as how they turned Thunder into Tonto.
Despite how I feel about sexuality in games, I don't miss the sideboobs at all. She looks like a fighter now instead of themed stripper

Yup. But the cheesiness of the series is its appeal. Killer Instinct is a bit like 1980's wrestler gimmicks in the sense that they toss logic to the wind in order to give us that velvety smooth cheese sauce.
Well at least... Her name was pronounced may - ah and not my-ah in KI2
So that's probably gonna be the excuse they roll with

Maya definitely look way better than she was in old game, and I'm curious about her level up gimmick. I'm pretty curious if it would be like Frank West in UMVC3?

She looks a ton better than the original. How often do they release new characters? I wonder how many will be available if I but a Xbox One and this game at the end of the year.

(Don't mind seeing Maya either though, especially with this redesign. Looks like her level will be lighter coloured and less blueish compared to the others as well, which I can only applaud.)

Wasn't Jago's original costume a selectable outfit? And wasn't it included to show how terrible the original designs would look if carried over?

Definitely a major improvement over the old design. Looking forward to putting in more hours with her once released.
The classic costumes weren't really faithful outside of glacius (still has the long neck tho) and spinal.
Oh no he was improved.
He is still bland though.
Thats how shit a lot of the OG KI designs are.

So Cinder, And Riptor left for old characters, and then four new ones. I am guessing next year they will have Master Chief for Halo 5.

My least favorite character in the series (not counting gargos). I was hoping for a Cinder reveal. Her design is way better than before though. If they can make her playstyle funner than it was in KI 2. I'll give her a shot.
Seeing her here now gives me better hope for seeing Kim Wu. Who was my favorite new character from KI 2.

This is SO much better than what we had before.
I'm still not getting an X-Box One, even for KI, and looking at my group of friends, I'll never even play the new KI, but I'm liking how it's shaping up right now.
Am I the only one who didn't think Neo Combo was that bad?
I wish they return all the 6 characters left, and then the ones that will return on season 3 are Eyedol and Gargos

Wow, Maya looks way better than I would have ever imagined. I love what Iron Galaxy has done with her design.
Can't wait to see her in action.

Not really. Maya is a given name too, not only the Mayan civilization.
Really great look at her stage in there too.
Maya had one of the worst designs in KI, but I still feel like they missed the mark with this redesign. The original Maya in concept was an awesome over-the-top amazon queen character, very Frank Frazetta. This design looks more like Lara Croft with armor. Boring.
I also think the new Combo and Maya both don't quite match up with Double Helix's redesigns. You can tell they changed developers.

lol. The character designs in the old ones were horrid barely a step up from Time Killers, in what universe the new ones look "worse" than those shitty designs.
