eh, the Colonel is only on your support group for 1 game, Sakurai would probably replace the MGS1 crew with a mix of MGS2 and 4

There's almost undoubtably going to be one more character reveal trailer before release. The wording of the Lucina/Robin reveal basically guaranteed it.

The worst thing I can imagine is playable Adam. He's one of like four characters from the series who could be playable and have appeared in more than one Metroid game (albeit only...kind of in Adam's case). It's plausible. Not likely, but it's there and I hate it.

The way people talk about Project M, a game that strives to balance all characters to be competitively viable, makes it seem the most broken shit around. =P

Eh. Every character's broken in a way, which is how it manages to be even. It's called "Project Recovery" for a reason lol.

I'm a big fan of nerfing recovery in general. Seeing Pit or Metaknight fly across the screen annoys me greatly since it means the only viable way to kill them is to smash them into the blast zones.

Meh people always bitch about balance regardless of how good it is. Some matchups are just by nature unfair because of certain heroes strengths and weaknesses. Same thing happens in Dota 2 - someone's range overall may completely make laning bullshit for an adversary, but on a whole the balance is admirable and most characters aren't broken enough that it makes a difference in lower level play.

I only want them to nerf recovery if they think of other decent ways to make the characters better. I really do not like how most the ways characters are now better is by improving their recoveries. Wish they'd come up with more creative ways.

Well, the topic was closed before I could respond, but this was my thoughts on "D"'s Mega Man topic.

I can definitely understand the concerns of the fighting and competitive Smash communities regarding characters not being well-suited for tournament play.

For someone like me who only plays for fun and for the fan service (not saying competitive Smash players don't compete for fun), I'm happy with the current direction of the new Smash games.

In a perfect world, both sides would be satisfied, and I do hope it works out that way for everyone!

Anyhow, I'm getting really excited for Smash now. All of the new stages look really incredible, and the more I see, the more I want the game. :)

I don't see Megaman being bad, honestly. He has probably the most potential technical tricks of all the newcomers aside from maybe Rosalina & Luma. Leafshield and crashbomb tricks could end up lending their selves well to some shenanigans.

Its still too early to say. Even after the release, it takes time to each character potential be discovered

My thread got locked, and like I said in it I DO know its still an early build of the game but what do you guys think about Megaman's potential based on what we've seen so far?

A lot of folks say "it doesn't take too much to see when a character has problems" and it's pointed out that a lot of issues with Meta Knight were easily visible in the E for All demo for Brawl.

And you know, they're not wrong or anything. But I still think it's too early anyway, I think the full game needs to be out before we can really say. Mega Man, for example, might have some insanely good matchup against an unseen character who ends up being top tier or something. Not really likely, but I mean...even if what we've seen is a pretty fair slice of the pizza, we still didn't get to eat the ENTIRE pie, and the other pieces have some toppings we don't even know about.

Low tier. Akin to Link in Brawl, less powerful than he should be considering unimpressive jumps, speed, etc.

It's really damn hard to say, but again, he has arguably the biggest potential for technical tricks next to Rosalina & Luma. Because of his odd playstyle, relying so largely on projectiles, he has a fairly odd learning curve, so you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone who played as him in the demos that found him good. It'll take until the games out and we know his tricks to see what he can do.

I kinda wonder if he can use the leaf shield like a shine upon activation.

He's certainly not boring to play as, of the three characters I played as (Little Mac and Mario, the closest thing to an old main I had in the demo), I found him to be by far the most fun.

Later we'll find out SuperSah is Sakurai, and has been teasing us with posts saying "Super Smash Brothers" instead of confirming or deconfirming Ridley.

I'm fine with people having their wanted and not wanted characters, but telling other people to take the characters out or put characters in of their fake rosters are just silly.
yes, it does applies to leaked rosters, etc because it's leakers' wish list in disguises or so

No, we are customers who are expected to pay £40ish for a video-game and should be allowed our own opinion on who should be in the roster.

We are speculating and playing around, not demanding.
