Megaton!(?): LBP3 to allow full 3D movement between "layers."

Oh... Yes. Yes that is good.

A full 3d platformer version of little big planet would be incredible

Aside from the floaty as fuck controls

I feel like I should be more impressed. It's been some time since I've played LBP so I don't fully grasp the ramifications

this has always been a huge problem for me. I think the game is fantastic, if only it 'felt' good. It feels fucking weird still after playing for hours. BUT - I haven't played LBP 2, and 3 looks like each character moved differently. What would REALLY be a megaton is if you could set 'character physics/move speed / jump height' in custom maps.

This game looks like it's going to be the best of LBP series so far, with tons of new options but it's going to be the most undervalued because of the timing.

All of the added logic/tools is going to be crazy on PS4 with NO limit on size.

I can't wait to see what gets made.

But there's still really no indication that you could have 3d camera control, or even a camera that follows the character in and out of the screen, right? Unless they add that, it doesn't seem like you'd be able to make much of a 3D platformer.

i could've just been playing the games wrong, but i felt like traversing those layers fluidly was always a pain. it would be way too easy to get stuck in that game. i'm just afraid of this making it worse

Is it a real 3d.movememt or is it just animation trick to make it look smooth but you always stop at one of the layer? If it's real 3d, with 16 lanes wide and camera perspective tweak, you can create a spot on crash bandicoot games.

Nice. Looks like the game will be a bigger step forward than I thought. Should open the flood gates for people to go nuts with new types of levels. Might even be some Crash Bandicoot type levels if some talented creators can manipulate the camera a bit.

Didn't think much of it before, but definitely interested now.

A sidescroller with even more complexity than the three planes in LBP1&2! How could it get any harder to see where you are jumping?

I would think this to be an option as opposed to being the default controls. The E3 demo showed 2D controls on the layers, as the other games had.

I'd like to see even more Z-axis depth, but it just seems impossible until LBP4 for PS4 only. Until then we'll see some nice uses, but it wont be fully 3D until they give us fully 3D tools. Which seems like something for the PS4.

Also, the bigger megaton if any, is that they spoke about tighter controls/momentum

Isn't this going to still have smallish level size limits to accommodate the ps3 version? I kinda wish it wasn't cross gen.

Fay one regardless. <3 LBP.

It's got almost 0 competition this fall for family multiplayer. If Sony markets this decently toward young children and parents, it should do great.

Hopefully it really is full 3D movement and not just so many layers (16) that it feels it.

Also idk about y‘all but I can adapt to different jump physics from game to game.

Multiple characters, possible 3D movement... this is either going to be really cool or it's going to destroy what made the series work.

You can. For all the characters too.

I've got to say, not quite the megaton I expect but it certainly pretty damn awesome. My faith in this installment grows the more I hear about it.

This is good news! I don't mind LBP/LBP2's way of handling 3D space but I much prefer this. Can't wait to play some of the crazy levels people come up with.

Indeed, hopefully it does very well. Hook them in this holiday with LBP3 and follow it up early next year with Tearaway and Ratchet to help the PS4 expand its userbase to the younger children/family orientated gamer.

Aside from the floaty as fuck controls

This sentiment always confuses me. As someone getting into nintendo classics late in life, I found all the classic mario games to be floaty as fuck, and people love those games. Why are the physics in this game so hard to grasp? Keeping in mind for me I hate the feel of classic mario, love the feel of classic mega man, and love the feel of little big planet.
