Whats wrong with the twirl exactly? Rising Nairs in P:M are a really useful aerial for Ness.
It's just lame compared to this:

A few characters already have twirl nairs, but nobody has a reclining nair.

Wait, the Yo-Yo glitch could be done in Smash 64? As in it could be done in a game with infinite hitstun and Ness' stupidly powerful and fast yo-yo?
No, no. Melee only.

Somebody sais they will be Smashing when going to the bathroom, well, it is possible to do that with the WiiU too

I rearranged my entire sleeping arrangement just so I could position the Wii U at exactly the right spot to make this dream come true. Usually use it for MH or web browsing so far but I also beat Earthbound on the can.

Ray II Dark and Ray Warrior are illegal parts, illegal parts are parts that are powerful enough to actually hurt someone based on the games. The playable character of the game is then asked to stop the thugs from infiltrating the base, and does so with the help of the robot.

What do you guys think? Would this character fit in the fine oiled machine that is Smash Bros.? What interesting mechanics could he bring to the table? Let us know below!

Note: Unlike veterans, the newcomers being posted are not being revealed in order of most votes due to the amount of different choices; I'm just sharing the ones I find most interesting. However, for the last five newcomers, I will present those in order as the newcomers who got the most votes.

also the cool(est) thing about having Ray 01 in is because he'd the first mecha character.

Oh sorry, I'm thinking of anime too much now. Imagining shooting missiles and lasers everywhere sounds friggin' awesome.

Would have been a great addition

I know absolutely nothing about the Custom Robo series. The first time I learned of its mere existence was like 2 years ago. And I've owned every Nintendo console/handheld since the SNES. In fact, until this very moment I didn't even know there was more than one entry in the series.

And, yet, I think it would be a cool addition to the Smash Bros. roster.

(see, people, it's not so hard to appreciate characters which you don't personally identify with or are familiar with)

The idea that Super Metroid sold well in Japan can be put to rest by just looking at Prime and Fusion's Japanese release dates.

Ray has always been a top tier character in terms of Smash potential. The tiny brobot that could would be pretty awesome, especially if they played up Macross Missile style bobbing and weaving with high power ammunition. It'd be like playing with a Vanquish'd Megaman X. The problem is that he seeming has zero hype. I kinda blame it on the Custom Robo series never really being promoted in any moderate way back in the past.

Only Custom Robo I've played is the GCN one.

Pretty unremarkable game, except the RPG plot was pretty funny...at one part, you could actually have forgotten to grab a Key Item earlier in the game, and had to run all the way home to get it. And this was at the climax of the story.

I played the DS Custom Robo and thought it was... uh... fine? I feel like I should seek out the Gamecube one at some point but idk, what I played didn't really rock my world, especially compared to some other mech battlers.

With the addition of custom movesets, though, a Custom Robo character could be neat to implement. I'm picturing something in between Palutena/Miis and the rest of the characters where his special moves are, like, bombs, pods, guns, and... I guess some sort of airdash for recovery, and the custom moveset options would be like swapping parts out.

kinda funny it's using the SFxT Megaman even through that was a request by Inafunae himself!

Yeah, a lot of people overlook that fact and think BBA Mega Man in SFxT was just Capcom continuing to have it out for Mega Man fans, when in fact it all came from Inafune. Capcom US really got a lot of undeserved shit for that whole thing (and a lot of other things, really).

You know, it's always really telling when a character like Impa is considered moderately popular, but when I introduced the idea that Impa could do a great deal to increase the ratio of non-white characters in Smash, people became super offended

Yeah, I like BBA Mega Man, it was just...not the best timing.

I'm thinking anime-type mecha character. Like since we have Fire Emblem characters that can very well find themselves in an anime and not appear out of place. Can't wait to truly see how Bowser Jr. plays :)

Also nice avatar!
Duck Hunt hype!

Doesn't something need a pilot in order to be a mecha? I haven't played any of the Custom Robo games, but I was under the impression that Ray is just a small toy robot.

Man... I really want to care about the Bayonetta 2 Direct, I really do, but I just don't and I'm pretty sure it's because I would much, much rather have a Smash 3DS Direct instead.

We had a member here the other week claim a Nintendo Rep told him Bayo would be in Smash. Anyone remember who that was?

I might check this out...I just played DMC recently, and I'm really into this genre now.

I was actually just thinking about him yesterday! I really liked the GCN game and was a pretty big supporter of him back in the Brawl days, but the Custom Robo series is pretty much dead in the water at this point, so I'm just hoping he gets to keep his slot as an Assist Trophy.

Whatever model they go with, the moveset would be pretty obvious (lasers, missiles, jet boosters). The real question for me is whether it'd be better to implement him as a full-sized fighter or shrink him down to try and work the "toy robot" angle like his AT.

Duck Hunt hype!

Indeed!

I would like to bump my post for everyone to read!
DUCK HUNT HYPE! :D

Seriously. I’m glad that Sakurai decided to model the dog after the official Japanese art. He looks like an adorable dog and not the bipedal monstrosity that mockups tend to favor. The sprite of the dog laughing behind the bushes doesn’t mean that he should look like a dwarf in a mascot costume at all times.

Same here. I really appreciate the notions that they made the model based on Japanese game box's dog art and the sprites.

Ironically that's when Duck Hunt in fake leak stood out a lot for me. For example, No one ever gave Duck Hunt Dog and Ducks the name, Duck Hunt. People always coined, Laughing Dog, Duck Hunt Dog, Mr. Pepper, and Dog and Ducks. No one ever mentioned Duck Hunt ever since Smash 4 started.

Also other thing that stood out for me as well is that fan arts and models always portrayed Duck Hunt dog as bipedal character that can fighting with frontal paws and used a lot of special moves as if he's human. Leak's Duck Hunt Dog didn't. The picture implied that he is more likely to be quadruped fighter, along with a duck or more.

I have a highest res picture of Duck Hunt as I could find. Please take a look at Duck Hunt Dogs. Here the pictures that y'all can compare models.

He clearly still have black freckles ongoing for him on his cheeks and he still have black eye rings around his eyes, like Dog's sprites. Also you can see that he have black collars just like he did in NES.

Heck, I better see this animation as Duck Hunt's introduction.

Alright, back to topic. I would like to share other people's perspectives on Playable Duck Hunt Dog and you will see why it's different from leaked model.

Conclusion: Heck, if it's fake render or real model by Sakurai and the team, it's practically best take on Modern Duck Hunt's Dog and Duck. It was completely different from other models that I have seen over the time. Either, They have done fantastic job with the models and I would like to tip my hat off to everyone who got involved in this. :)

I'm still waiting for hard confirmation for Duck Hunt being playable before I set up my hype mode to highest.

P.S. Also I would like to bring up that Sakurai did mentioned that Nintendog and Villager wouldn't able to fight during Brawl Dojo. I suspected that Sakurai really intend to make a nintendog as playable character but there is a problem that Nintendog look so realistic so no one want to hurt realistic puppies.

I'm not sure why he didn't think of them in first place but I'm glad that he reconsidered trying to give a dog moveset a shot again but somehow he noticed that Duck Hunt actually have a dog in the game. He decided to give it an other attempt to make dog moveset to come to fruition. He succeed to give Villager a moveset and become playable character in Smash 4. Also we just saw Nintendog stage in E3 trailer so I assumed that Sakurai managed to find a way to bring Nintendog in. Few people convinced me that Nintendog didn't have a chance to become playable character so I held a hope that Sakurai might consider Dog from Duck Hunt and somehow make it work with Duck and Imaginary Hunter (Final Smash) Yeah, it's all speculations on my behalf.
