Man it's been awhile, maybe I should check club nintendo (NOA)...

Oh... well... I guess I can get Star Tropics 2, that was a good game that would be fun to play on my game pad and....

.... Well I guess sitting with the gamepad on my lap and using a wiimote isn't so terrible right?

I get it Nintendo, physical rewards cost you money, but even your digital rewards are severely lacking if I can't take full advantage of them on the Wii U! Stop posting Wii only rewards at the very least if you aren't going to give me anything worthwhile to spend my thousands of points on!

I really wish they'd sell eShop points for CN coins. It would make up for the sometimes lacking rewards otherwise.

I'm new to this whole Club Nintendo thing and have had 570 coins since July. Every month I keep thinking that there might be some cool downloadable titles for Wii U, and every month I'm left disappointed.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Yep, it definitely could be improved but at least NoA Club Nintendo has game downloads... something NoE has never had.

At least it isn't 250 coins like Super Punch-Out was. That was bonkers (most expensive of game of the moth).

They have to offer something for Wii owners, right? I suppose there is still Maboshi (interesting concept for a game).

After those platinum rewards. I stopped caring about entering my coins sadly. Glad I was able to get those 3DS cases and gold nunchuck while I could.

They keep recycling the same games over and over, which sucks. Some third party offerings would be wonderful.
And yeah, it's time to ditch the Wii games.

Free downloads of Donkey Kong, a game everyone and their grandmother has either bought or played before. Which has also been the the coins-for-games rotation before. Amazing. Nintendo can do better with the types of download rewards on offer. They supposedly "read" the Club Nintendo surveys so they know what the kind of games people would want or would be more interested in.

I'm starting to fear the Luigi statue will be the last good thing I get from them that's not a cheap digital game. At least I cashed in most of my coins on it.

Yeah, it's gotten pretty sad. I know Nintendo are hurting but they shouldn't skimp out on rewards. I don't feel any incentive at all to fill up those surveys now.

Zoda's Revenge isn't even on Wii U

Yes, that was exactly my point. Why offer a game up that doesn't have Wii U mode when there is A: No reason for the game NOT to have Wii U mode, and B: It cost the same in points as it would if it were on the Wii U... but to be fair, it is a different discussion to have on just how shitty Wii U's VC service is at this point.

I hope you already have an Ultra Hand because that's what I'd get as soon as it showed up on the european Club Nintendo.

I can't get physical rewards, and most of the digital ones recently sucked hard. So yeah, Club Nintendo has been subpar for me for quite a while.

Have they reached the end of the 30¢ offerings yet? I would love to see them get some game on there that I didn't already own...

NOA should really be pushing Club Nintendo's rewards as it is at least somewhat unique compared to the competition. They're not really in a place where they should let the reward program die off. Or maybe that's precisely why.

At least you have the option to get something. I've bought hundreds of Nintendo games and never gotten anything out of Club Nintendo.

You realize to get coins, you have to both:

  1. Buy a product.
  2. Fill out a marketing survey about said product (and there are two per product).

People seem to always forget the second part, none of the shit on Club Nintendo is free. Club Nintendo isn't a loyalty program, its a market research program. That information is valuable to businesses, and many companies have entire departments to collect it or even hire a third party where their entire job is collecting that information.

I forgot to check the new rewards.

Well, still not missing much. Fucking Kid Icarus 3D again.

I'm never going to get rid of these damn coins.

Never going to happen. The point of switching to digital was to cut costs as games they own cost nothing (minus any opportunity cost type things), having to pay 3rd party devs 70% of eShop cost is counterproductive. Likewise eShop credit is never happening for similar reasons.

That said, some of the best games I've played recently have been Club Nintendo rewards. Particularly Donkey Kong 94.

I have been saving my coins so I can get Platinum every year. Now there seems to be no physical rewards and have 1300 coins.

I really wanted the Hanafuda Cards or Game & Watch but the hype of the rarity of the gold Nunchuk made me spend 900 coins on it.

It just came loose in a box without any actual packaging. You could have just put a gold she'll on a regular Nunchuk for the same effect. I really regret getting it.

I'm just hoping Nintendo offers posters again so I can spend my coins on something. I'm hoping for a Metroid set.

It's unfair how in Japan last year Club Nintendo had Wind Waker, Wonderful 101 and Pikmin t-shirts. I hate NOA.

Maybe NoA has some crazy rewards that they're waiting to unveil, but only after the greeting cards sell out.

"Dammit, Reggie, no one's buying the cards!"

"They will..."

Didn't Europe recently have some Zelda apparel?

Edit: Oh my. Looking at the Europe page, they don't have much. But they have a lot more. You can get eshop points, too.

I don't even know why they bother to pay people to maintain the club nintendo website and program. The rewards are trash and nobody redeems shit. Everything is manufactured with a limited run so the good stuff goes out of stock fast. Club Nintendo coins should be redeemable for eshop credit. Like every 100 coins is $1 or something. I would have got $20 back in credit for becoming platinum.

I regret not picking this up or the cards when I had the chance.
Same here.

But the Game and Watch collections took my coins first, and then gold nunchuks started popping up. I thought I had more time. :(

Club Nintendo at this point is pretty much gutted.

DK 94 is probably one of the best GB games, but the problem is that it's been recycled through CN rewards in the past. I know without even checking a list because I already got it from the service in the past; the same can be said for 3D Classics: Kid Icarus.

There needs to be a larger pool of games to cycle through.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
Some of my coins were about to expire a few months ago but there was nothing to buy so I just said "fuck it" and got mario party 2. But I didn't realize it was just on the wii so it's annoying to boot into it.

Nintendo points only work on the Wii Shop channel and DSi Shop, also the price is ridiculous. Using the metric of 250 stars=50 coins it is 800 coins for 1000 points.

The occasional monthly gift is neat though and they're pretty consistent about releasing something new every month.

No elite membership bonuses (the Mario statue could be bought...for 7000 stars), stars expire faster (both for registering games and ones earned from that), post play surveys are far from a given. I feel the failing of the US system it how it easy it is to end up with a massive hoard of coins for doing nothing (what was it, 80 coins for Disney Infinity, a free eShop title).

So the grass may be greener but it isn't that much greener.

Only bummer is they keep recycling the same games rather than offer up new ones. Why not put Ocarina of Time up for once? Why not a GBA game for an extra 100 coins?

Yo, Maboshi's Arcade is the shit. I recommend it.

One of the games inside Maboshi's Arcade, Circle, is as addictive as crack. I've been playing it a few times per week for years, now.

One of these days, I'll order a bunch of those greeting cards, just to aid in the efforts to retire them from our sight.

And I thought the European Club Nintendo was shitty o_O

At least we get soundtracks and eShop cards (although you need an insane amount of purchases for a soundtrack). Although I have to admit I'm kind of jealous regarding the digital games.

Kid Icarus 3D Classic? Yes please *-*

Unrelated: Just remembered I should finally register my copy of Smash 3DS when I saw this thread. Thank you OP
