Cloudbuilt just does not play well at all, IMO.

Looking forward to a bunch of these, though :) Just backed one of them, in fact.

Yes please. The only good 3D platformer series atm is Mario imo so I am welcome to more since I very much enjoy the genre.

Are any of these on 3DS/PSV/WiiU/PS4? Those are the only system I have. Seems like alot may be PC exclusive but either way even if I can't play some of these I am very happy to see so many 3D platformers being made! A lot more than I had thought so thanks OP for letting me know of the others!

Already backed Spooky Poo and I'm gonna buy A Hat in Time day 1.

Well, Rime is a PS4 exclusive. And A Hat In Time is coming to consoles

I think its going to be a very long time before indies get comfortable with 3d platforming level design. Lots of floating platforms in a void as they test the waters. Can wait to see 3d platforming adventure games again ala Ratchet, Spyro, Banjo etc.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Great thread. Never heard of most of these. Oliver and Spikes in particular looks amazing.

I'm good with that as long as the levels are as well made as something like Super Mario 3D World.

But yeah of course it'll be nice to see some well made adventure platformers in that sense as well.

I'd really hope to see an indie inspired by R&C in particular but I doubt that would happen :p

Spoilers --- I just played it... not that great.. :(

Aww I'll try it out anyway since it's free

Woah, I didn't know there was so many indie 3D plataformers in development.
Cloud Built and Grow Home looks interesting :)
I alreadly knew Rime and A Hat in time, and Rime especially is really beautiful.

My problem is none of them come off as as memorable.

It's like they're too occupied copying Mario, instead of trying to be the new Mario.

I get indies aren't made of money, but I think more time should be spent on the concept stage. Clive N Wench for example, looks like someone doodled on top of Banjo art and called it a day.

People are really enjoying Grow Home. Some in the OT have said it's their favorite game of 2015 so far

Foward to the Sky and Drew & the Floating Labryinth slipped under my radar, Im gonna check those out. Was probably too focused on Grow Home which is fucking stellar.

The Pac Man redesign is hella gross, but if you want to jump across stuff for a couple of hours the recent pac man games are pretty good! The steam version of the first one has been going on sale a lot lately so its easy to cop it on the cheap

Hopefully. Even if some of these don't look the hottest we should still support some of them to show that there's interest in the genre.

Oh? I might pick that up.
Yup
I know it's really early but this is my favorite game released in 2015 so far. I plan on going through it again to get all of the achievements.

Game is easily the best thing I've played this year so far, which might not sound like a lot given that it's February but I think it'll make my top ten easily.

I would recommend this game to anyone.

Over 2 very relaxing play sessions last week I spend 4.5 hours with it and got all crystals and seeds.

At some point I will go back and try find all the flora / forna to put in the teleporter to.

Great price and a great experience. Wish more unique things like this would come out more often.

Completed the "main game", with 100%crystals and 8 seeds, I'm at about 7.5 hours.

Fantastic game ! Yes it lacks some polish in the camera's behaviour, but I don't really give a crap, this is a very charming 3D platformer (3D PLATFORMER GUYS THEY EXIST OMG) that is also its very own thing, in one single map, it's just fucking lovely all around.

They've really nailed this loop of tension and danger of falling which is then replaced by mastery of environment and careless jumps and bounces once you get a new teleporter activated. And talking about mastery of the environment, taking a full tour up and down of your whole map using the upgrade you get when you catch the 100th crystal is a glorious moment :D

Traversal is such a joy once you've gotten the hang of the character's momentum and you bounce off leaves and properly manage your jetpack, trying to catch something as you go to stop yourself. Sometimes it reminds me of Crackdown. I'm SO GLAD they're supporting the game with a new update

Yeah. It pays not to be afraid to just have large, safe stretches of land. It really opens up games to do more interesting things with the mechanics, outside of "jump over this hole." Jumping in 3D is often most interesting when it's optional.

Eh, none of these look like they would compete with the likes of Banjo/Crash/Mario/Spyro of the hey day, are any of them actually legitimately amazing?

The OP already shows a healthy mix of both.

Oliver and Spike looks interesting. Hadn't heard of that before.

Didn't know Rime was a platformer.

And hopefully A Hat in Time turns out good.

Some of these look pretty bad, though.

I think I'll hold off on saying a renaissance is happening until we have three or four good ones that are actually finished and available to play.
