Going smoothly last I heard. Some weapons like the railgun and rocket launchers aren't going to get the head glitch fix treatment. Other than that, the fix will probably be included in the spring patch.

I'm surprised it didn't go into the Winter Patch. Most of the weapons that it's implemented on have the animations that make sense (weapon down if "glitch"ing and can't fire over cover).

Though I'm wondering how much of those will be invisible walls. :/

Bullets not going where I'm aiming would probably make me quit the game for good. The idea behind stopping head glitching is ok but the way they are doing it is really dumb.

Not sure how it's dumb.

In the vast majority of scenarios it's still going to go where you're aiming. It's just that players won't be able to abuse being able to spawn bullets from their heads. The benefits of eliminating head glitching far outweighs the negatives.

It's dumb because they're creating new issues while trying to solve one problem. Nothing is more frustrating than having what feels like invisible walls stopping bullets and that is exactly what it's going to feel like with this "fix". I'll take headglitchers over me dying because in the heat of battle I didn't have time in the fraction of a second that is most encounters to determine if the cover I'm shooting over is 1mm too high to shoot over or not.

The real fix would be to simply design the game world properly so there aren't intentional head glitch objects like the green boxes. They're really half assing it here.

They aren't making invisible walls to stop your bullets, and it really doesn't feel like that at all.

Players will always find a spot to headglitch in regardless of whether or not the developers themselves try to avoid making it happen. Having to move back a bit or aim slightly higher is hardly an issue compared to players that can easily and consistently abuse being able to shoot out of their heads.

They simply made it so that the bullets come out of the barrel of your gun. Having played with that many times already, it really isn't as big of an issue as you make it out to be.

Don't see why shooting from the head is an issue. It's an arcade shooter, not a war simulator.

Doesn't have to be a war simulator for it to be an issue though. Players regularly head glitch in this game, sometimes without the knowledge that they are even doing so. They wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for players regularly complaining about how prevalent and annoying it is, on top of it being an exploit that shouldn't exist in the first place.

I reckon at least most players don't like how they can get shot down by someone who manages to only show his head (sometimes even a fraction of that). A soldier's head bobs when it's hit in this game, so this can make it even more difficult to take out a head glitcher (ideally I want this taken out too but that doesn't look like it's going to happen for now).

When you try to shoot over something your bullets now hit the top of the object so your bullets don't land where your sights indicate they should. That's the same result as having an invisible wall, so same feeling. Honestly this is one of the worst ideas I've heard of in a game, you'll even have to compensate your aim for something as simple as shooting a claymore now. They're replacing one problem with another.

The amount of people complaining about all the issues that'll come up with this "fix" may very well outweigh the amount of people currently complaining about headglitching.

As someone who almost exclusively plays infantry this'll kill the game 100% for me. It's very anti-competitive.
 
I'm probably being a bit dim here but how would one team end up with both Z-10's on Siege constantly. As in, multiple rounds, with them not being touched by our team apart from the initial deploy. 2 pairs of 140's, dropped both of them a couple of times by clipping them as they weaved through the buildings, but no dice. 24/7 Shanghai on PS4.

However they did it, it worked well as it was fucking annoying and they ended up with 20:1 K/D every round and completely wrecked us :D

Fly to enemy base with transport chopper. Attack Chopper of your team takes out theirs.

Get in their respawned Attack Chopper before they can spawn into it.

It doesn't need to be the transport. The attack chopper works as well. The fact that they're on a roof that the infantry can't reach is fucking stupid. It's like DICE-DICE WANTED the enemy team to be able to camp your uncap with no remorse.

best thing ever was stealing the enemy attack jet on Kharg Rush in BF3!

Both Transport and Attack helicopters spawn on the ground now, at least for Conquest Large.

They haven't changed that for other modes yet, which is really a mind boggling thing. There's people out there that'll do nothing but camp the enemy uncap for a whole round. It's getting quite tiring.

Also did they buff the DMR's? RFB has gotten back to that GDLK status it had during the "beta" for me.
 
Man, I forgot how much I love Naval Strike and it's maps
Outside of Rush, where they're all FUCKING TERRIBLE with water insertions
. Sabotage on those maps is hella fun.

Well Operation Mortar is basically a remake of Iwo Jima. Its the best Conquest map in the game.

Ever since the winter patch, I keep getting 'you have lost connection to the session' messages when trying to join servers. It eventually works when I try to rejoin it about 3 times. Any ideas what it could be?

Something to do with changing the map on the server, I take it. Even alt-tabbing out causes me to lose a connection on map switch since the patch.

I figured it out. I had to port forward the correct ports for PSN. After I did that, my problem went away! I changed from ISP's

Got a notification from the battlelog app that Battlefest starts today for Hardline and BF4, see no mention of this anywhere else.

Anyone?

A New Season of Battlefest

On top of the usual battlefest stuff they put up, it says there will be a Weapons Crate DLC that contains 5 new weapons (3 of which are the AN-94, Lever-action rifle, and the OTs-14 Groza), and the Gun Master mode will also be released alongside the new weapons in late May.

We don't know if the new weapons will be free for everyone, Premium users only, or standard paid DLC. I'm thinking there will also probably be more new maps on top of the community map.

Eh, I'm not against the mode. But IMO that time spent on a mode that'll probably only be played two weeks could be better spent on modes already in the game.

Servers are still plenty populated, but yeah, pretty much no GAF peeps at the moment.

I've been playing Bloodborne and the multitude of other games I have at the moment. Any time you see my online though, send me an invite and I will load BF4 up. But with my xbone, ps4 and PC and very little free time, BF4 has gone to the backburner.

Yeah budget is tight right now or I'd be playing Bloodborne right now as well.

My buddy and I probably ended up playing that mode more than anything else in BF3. A lot of the game felt like a step back from Bad Company 2 so we weren't as hooked on the normal modes.
 
Caspian Border and Operation Mortar are the two best maps in the game. I wish there were servers that only ran them. There is one that I frequent that runs only Caspian and Firestorm, but Firestorm is boring.
