BLOODBORNE Update (1.03) available

I don't see the point on praising a company for fixing bugs, expecially when it's a sony funded game. Seeing the load times and performance issues, make it seem like a "ship it now and fix it later" thing. I am not blamming fromsoft or anything, because it's usually the publisher who wants the game out of the oven as fast as possible.
The game was already delayed once, besides FROM games have always been full of bugs and performance issues.

So I'm currently playing and I have not come across ONE message on the floor, only Specters. Am I alone here? Haven't come across one for at least 30 mins.

Dang, shame about the Rest mode stuff. Was hoping their fix would smartly reconnect you upon resuming the game, which I thought it was doing before albeit just a little buggy.

That's exactly what it was doing, albeit as you said a little buggy.

I'm actually very disappointed about them thinking this was a good solution. Just dumping you to the title screen is very simple and crude, more of a workaround than anything. In my experience the game did actually reconnect me successfully after coming out of rest mode the vast majority of the time, I only restarted when I was about to summon (which wasn't often thanks to their horrid matchmaking) and every 4/5 days to mitigate the boss behavior bug.

Dumping you to the title screen is just way worse than the way it was before, at least for me. I'm very disappointed and I'm surprised there's very little talk about this.

Glad to hear.

I've been taking a break from the game since the last weeks of classes are getting a bit hectic and Xenoblade 3D has been eating up most of my free time. It's good to know that my main issue will be gone when I finally get back to it.

Oh wtf they nerf'd the cannon?!

I wouldn't understand why... Ok, it's kinda stupid in PvP, but there are easy ways around it and cannon users most of the time don't know what they are doing. :D

I have 3 million from just playing/chalice. They come quickly! I like holding a lot because it makes it more exciting when I die!

From a week ago, but more importantly I am very happy with the aesthetic!

Poser! ;)

I usually just spend it on nonsense, don't want to go over lv 100.

How so? I played online and have used rest mode for the game since the first patch, I have yet to have been kicked out to the menu one time over the last couple weeks. I start up my ps4, go to the bloodborne icon and instantly it opens to wherever I was, no loading or anything.

I guess that's all over now. That blows.

Then you have not really been playing online. Once you resume from sleep, any connection to the server has been lost, until you quit the game to the main menu, and reload the file.

That's not true. Coming out of rest I was getting new messages and white ghosts and spectres in new areas and was invaded in
Nightmare of Mensis
a couple of times.

Not really. You have to load the game up again. It's the same as just quitting a game and closing the application in terms of time.

But it's not? It does take time to boot up the game from scratch to the initial 'play online' option... this skips that, at least.

Why shouldn't we praise them? Some games never get patched, and that sucks too. Sure, it would be better if games were all launch ready when they're launched, but at the same point in time it's nearly impossible to release a large game like bb completely bug free. There's likely going to be some odd issue (if you talk to a npc y, then do xyz, it breaks the quest!) that playtesters simply never found... and it's great when those issues are patched.

At least BB was released in a fully playable state - it certainly wasn't broken and there was nothing significant enough to delay the release (and all the issues that entails). loadtimes were never a deal breaker for me. Matchmaking needs work, though -- I can get it working but there's obviously lots of room for improvement.

Wow. Some people are just unbelievable.

Yeah you certainly are. My choice to not play a game with an issue that bothers me until it is fixed. If it doesn't get fixed I refuse to pay $70 CDN for it. Pretty simple consumer choice, perhaps if others had half as much conviction and weren't a bunch of veruca salts we would get less broken products. Why does that bother you exactly?

I was expecting a bit better from a Sony funded game on their powerfull hardware they always like to brag about.

lol

I love how you directly follow up an insult with "why does that bother you exactly?".

Anyways -- frame pacing has to be next! I'll wait until that for NG+, and play DS2 until then instead :)

Whenever I played online I got a "Connection Lost" message when coming out of suspend and was booted to the main menu.

This patch sounds amazing. I was hoping that the original 6-week delay from February to March, or whatever, would eliminate the need for a major patch like this, but overall the game shipped in a much better condition than Dark Souls 1, and nothing in here is nearly as significant balance-wise as the Dark Souls 1 patches. That Cannon nerf is minor compared to how significantly Iron Flesh, Crystal Ring Shield, and Gold-Hemmed robes needed to be nerfed.

If that is the case I will wait until I can get this for as cheap as possible and they lose out. I like to support devs but poor frame pacing is something that I know I wont be able to stand. It will just drive me nuts and this seemingly amazing game otherwise will end up as a waste of money for me on a pile of technical shame. I have wasted enough money and I have enough games to play. Odd stance I know but I know myself better than anyone and I have been down this road before.

Considering Master Chief Collection is still a painful spot in my memory, I'd say calling Bloodborne a pile of technical shame is miles away from the truth.

Hardly a scathing insult. More of a commentary on an industry that knows their audience and what they can get away with. ^ Holy fuck you bloodborne people are touchy. Perhaps people are just salty because they already completed the game before it got out of beta. I know I will enjoy it when I finally get around to playing it.

A little bummed I can't go right back into the game after rest mode. I never had an issue with that before.

Was the cannon really OP? IMO, it doesn't really make the game easy mode (at least not for a less skilled gamer like me).

Hahahaha oh wow. Yeah I'm the crazy one for refusing to play the GotY 2015 because of minor technical hiccups that in no way detract from the experience.

But anyway, the point is that you called this a "pile of technical shame" over a minor technical issue that 95% of players won't even notice, and in the same universe where games like Master Chief Collection and AssCreed Unity exist, no less.

Touchy? No, not really, we're certainly rolling your eyes at your ridiculous hyperbole and "mah convictions!" high horse though.

Perhaps people are just salty because they already completed the game before it got out of beta.
LOL, here we go again

And I don't see any salt where except you getting touchy because people laugh at your hyperbole. So yeah. It's also quite probable that the framerate never gets fixed, so I guess you might never enjoy that "beta". Oh well, your loss.

Edit: I notice you call others "veruca salts". I didn't know what that meant other than it was clearly an insult, so I look it up, and I see this:

Veruca Salt (in some early editions, Veruca Cruz) is a girl who demands every single thing she wants: the second person to find a Golden Ticket, and the third to leave the tour. A selfish, rotten brat who shows her family no mercy and has absolutely no regard for other people's property [...]

Veruca is a spoiled brat who rudely demands different desires nonstop [...]
lol...? o_O There's something deeply ironic here...

This is what the Cannon could do to
Amygdala
at just 20 Blood Tinge

That's a spoiler for a late game boss, so don't click it unless you've completed the game.

You weren't buying the game anyways so you can save us your high horse spiel.

Oh, certainly not scathing. Don't confuse my derision of your patently ridiculous comments as being touchy -- but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that your follow up was a thinly veiled "u mad?" and "salty" post.

You should understand the sharp distinction here: There's nothing wrong with waiting until a patch and holding whatever standards you choose to. It's the limp-wristed attempt at ridiculing people that don't that is the issue. Surely you see that.

what exactly did they nerf? as for easy mode, you could 2-shot amygdala (my cannon was +8 by then already). :3

That is some weapons-grade shitposting, right there.

I'm not sure if it's because of people returning to check out the new patch but joining people for coop has become much easier. Even at level 120 I'm finding Beckoners in the Forbidden Woods.

What the hell is your problem? No seriously.

The game is no-where near 'broken' in any conceivable way. And it's some shameful-ass trolling to act like it is while admittedly never having touched the game.

If you want to deprive yourself of a great game to make a point on the internet, no-one is going to stop you. But don't get all huffy when people are going to mock your immensely overblown reaction to this issue.

I don't think anybody here is being touchy. A bunch of people are just calling out your massively hyperbolic statements

They fixed the Forbidden Woods skip? That's disappointing. It was obscure enough that no one would do it on accident...

Did they fix the memory leak/12-hour ezmode bug?
