Will they even do a pre-E3 thing this year? What do they even have besides MGSV?This is going to be an awkward e3. They will have their own thing, right?

I'm confused why you think him being in the game means gameplay is going to be sacrificed.
THIS IS PERFECTLY FINE?!

I just got this warning on my phone for this page.
I would message a mod but I'm on my phone and not sure how to find mods on here. So hopefully someone will see it.
Such a waste of their talents
I know VitaGAF likes it because they've not got much else to like, but man that game completely pales in comparison to even Siren. New Siren on PS4 in non-episodic format would be pretty sweet.

Whoops, didn't check where the images came from, just linked them for the sake of the joke. I pulled them from Google Images.
I changed it. Thanks for the heads up.

Absolute horseshit, particularly considering how special/cool that I thought P.T. was. Konami can get fucked.

Confused? He is famous for one thing, being a one man army zombie killing machine.
You don't pay big money for a guy like that and then completely ignore what he is famous for. You get some unknown guy for that.
If this game had gone ahead, you would have been shooting tanks with rocket launchers. And that is before Kojima stepped in to make those tanks have legs.
It might have been glorious, but it would never have been the Silent Hill game people were thinking of.

But I attest I think Downpour is a good but flawed game.

To be honest Kojima could make a generic horror game and it would not infringe at all on Silent Hills IP rights...
There is not a whole lot "exclusive" to the silent hill franchise (besides pyramid head);
Just take PT and blow it up to a full game if Konami does not want to play ball anymore. Hopefully Kojima finds some where to work, and does not leave making games entirely (or retiring, he is 51 now!)
Sadly I knew not to get my hopes up when a perfect pair for a horror game (Kojima and del Toro) were announced. Del Toro has had horrible luck with games.... with all his projects up to this point being canceled as I recall.
Because GAF picks nothing but gold. If I haven't seen several topics in the past about how people disagreed with the GAF GOTY, especially the MGS4 win, I'd take it more seriously. The game was a tech marvel and gorgeous to look at, but that was pretty much it. It took back the MGS franchise considerably.
This is of course IMO so take it as you will.
Sorry for the lack of quote but I'm on mobile, but in regards to the comment if Silent Hill 3 being released 12 years ago, it's better to let some things die that pilfer their corpse again and again.

It's like they are trying so hard to get people to hate them that this can't be real. How can one company be so out of touch with literally everything
I want to say it's because they no longer care about their AAA-gaming division.
But they already announced publicly that Metal Gear will continue beyond MGSV. So it's a real mystery to me.
Wondering how many people going "Fuck Konami" are going to be throwing money their way when MGS comes out. Regardless of whats happening this might be their big cash out on AAA titles.
People forget that Konami's gaming division bread and butter isn't Castlevania or Metal Gear. The biggest one by far is Pro Evolution Soccer what with its annual schedule and multi million sales nothing brings more money even if they play second fiddle to EA's FIFA.The way I see it MGSV is going to be the celebration of Konami's downfall. It's one of those short term, long term things. Short term, MGSV is a great game and makes money and proves that the people really wanted what Kojima was offering. Long term, what the fuck else does Konami have?

More and more my suspicions grow that the source of the Kojima-Konami divorce was caused by Silent Hills.
Kojima was really excited about it and I bet he was going to work on that after MGSV but Konami wanted him again producing a new Metal Gear. Probably Kojima reached his limit now after upper management changed his plans from an already approved SH reboot to, again, do another MG. He said no and Konami would rather fire him than let the man that have given you so much make his first non-MG game in 10+ years.
After Kojima's fired Sony needs to grab him and Del Toro in a room, ask how much money and staff they'd need to create a new horror IP exclusively for PS4 and give it to them, get Norman Reedus, rent the motion capture studio when needed from Naughty Dog, and make the damn game.
Konami's dead to me after MGSV
Maybe they plan to go for new IPs? Or a new direction for their old series? Either way, could be awesome. They still have all the skills among the team do whatever they want but they need someone with some great ideas to step up and take the director role. I'm sure they have a plan, we just can't see it right now.The way I see it MGSV is going to be the celebration of Konami's downfall. It's one of those short term, long term things. Lol sorry, its 6 a clock in the morning hereLost Planet was Capcom...
I'm sure they have a plan: it involves getting out of expensive console games development and stick with their safe money-makers outside of gaming and, in the case of gaming, stick to very safe games like the annual PES and regularly scheduled MGS sequels.
They could honestly make all of this up to me by having another 2010 tier conference. They don't even really need any games in order to do this. Just whatever kind of drugs they were passing around that year.
Are they splitting up the MGS team too? I thought that it was only Kojima that had left. If the old team is gone then bye-bye MGS, there won't be any annual MGS at all in that case, no way they're going to start up a whole new team from the ground up to do MGS games.I think most of Kojima Productions is being cannibalized too. I'm not sure what major players on the development side will still be there.
