Awful.

I have a respectable physical 3DS collection of about a dozen games, however I have a love/hate relationship with that system and am starting to think I should have spent that money elsewhere.

Like a good Vita owner I have access to more awesome Vita games than I'll ever be able to play, however Sony tricked me into either buying them digitally or essentially rent them to me via PS+. As a result I only have 5 physical games and two of them came with the console.

I can't afford/justify WiiU prices and don't want a PS4 yet (or a XB1 at all).

I must have had about 100 physical games by the end of the last generation.

bunch of free indie stuff, diablo, metal slug 3 (why did i buy this), and bloodborne on my PS4

it's actually going in the closet today to make room for my dreamcast.

Only have a PS4 so far but I'm eyeing up a WII U when the price drops even further. So all PS4 and not counting free PS+ games (but counting the ones I bought before they were free):

Physical:
Bloodborne
TLOU Remastered
The Evil Within (limited edition)
Destiny (limited edition)
Wolfenstein TNO
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag
MGS Ground Zeroes
InFamous Second Son
GTA 5
The Order 1886
The Witcher 3 (Friday)

Digital:
Life Is Strange (Season pass)
Battlefield 4
Home
Broken Age
Shovel Knight
RE: Revelations 2
Surgeon Simulator
Dying Light
Nidhogg
Grim Fandango
Never Alone
Resident Evil HD
InFamous: Second Son (yes I own it twice)
Driveclub
The Unfinished Swan
Rogue Legacy
Don't Starve
Spelunky
The Swapper
Transistor
Sound Shapes
Child Of Light
Octodad
Trine 2
Valiant Hearts
Plants Vs Zombies: GW

As a rule I really need to stop buying indie titles on PSN as I'm shocked at how many I've paid for that were then made available for free on PS+

I actually forgot about Lego City, is it still worth getting or was it just hyped due to the Wii U drought at that time?

There was definitely the hype due to the drought. It's pretty much your typical Lego game but set in an open world environment. What really hurts that particular experience is that it's not as fun to just fuck around in the world as say a GTA. The driving physics are poor and there's really just not much to do like you might expect in a similar genre.

I loved Lego City, I laughed a lot. But it's pretty standard Lego game play, nothing special.

OT, have around 15 download titles from PS+, and 6 physical discs PS4 since August last year, have 8 discs for the WiiU since xmas 13.

Bayonetta 2. That's it.

I'm poor and can't afford any current gen consoles. DMC4 Special Edition will probably become my second current gen title.

It's coming along nicely. I've got about 20 PS4 and Wii U games, give or take. And a handful of 3DS and Xbox One games. I'll take some pics later when I'm home.

At the end of last gen I had about 140 PS3 games and 15-20 360 and Wii games each. Never again. I kept about 30 PS3 games and traded everything else in for an XB1.

I trade my stuff in nowadays, wasted thousands by not doing it last time around. Right now I have 6 PS4 games and 1 XB1 game, and it's hopefully gonna stay that way.

I used to trade games in but I'd still lose money, just not as much.

If I were to trade all my wii u games I'd be lucky to get back what I paid for Wind Waker HD.

The only reason I'm not all digital on Wii U is because of the shitty way games are tied to the console, so if the console dies it's a headache trying to get them downloaded on the new console.

The only time games have much value is trading them in shortly after release, which I suppose games like The Order where you could buy it and complete it very quickly and get back a bit of cash makes sense.

But any annual release drops in value by the time you buy the new one.

Woah woah 113 Vita games? That's huge!

I'm more surprised there are 113 Vita games D:

It's a really fun system to collect for. 。◕‿◕。

I own every system but the Wii U (ps4, vita, One, 3DS, Decent PC) and I have a grand total of ZERO purchased next gen games. Thats all thanks to the last 2 years being crazy with getting married, moving accross the entire country, selling my house, living in a smaller apt for a year, buying a new huge house, changing jobs, and tons of vacations. Things are finally starting to settle down a little bit and I'll get a chance to play something soon.

Basically all I have is the games that came free with the systems (Halo MCC, Assasins Creed Unity, PS Plus games)

If I had traded in the games that I knew I didn't want to keep, just after I had finished them, I would have saved around 1000 quid, as they trade in value would have gone off my next game. As it was I paid full price for everything on day 1. Like I said, never again.

I really don't want a "collection" at this point. It's so early on and I already have a backlog.

Aside from PS+ games I have

PS4:

Bloodborne
Wolfenstein
Last of Us
Stardust
Infamous
Ground Zeroes

Wii U

Smash bros
Mario Kart
Pikmin 3
Tropical Freeze

Plus a million games on Vita.

Gotta say op, can't see a bad game in the bunch. Very similar to mine, actually...so I might be a little biased.

Man, this makes me want to play Wii U today.

PS4:
The Witcher 3
Mortal Kombat X
Guilty Gear Xrd
GTA V
The Last of Us
Infamous: Second Son
First Light

Wii U:
Bayonetta 1 and 2
The Wonderful 101
Mario Wii U

3DS:
Majoras Mask
Project X Zone
A Link Between Worlds

Vita:
Persona 4
Danganropa
Hotline Miami
Final Fantasy X/X-2
Duke Nukem

I'd say it's not bad considering that I rent most of my games from Gamefly.

Yeah I agree in those circumstances it makes sense.

I just don't like the "pressure" of having to finish games quickly. I tend to buy lots of games and keep going from one to another so it takes a long time for me to be finished with them, and by that time they're worth next to nothing and I'd rather keep them than trade them in for small amounts.

What I really need to do is buy one game at a time and only play that game until I've completed it and then trade in for another one. Which is fine for a game that is single player and can be completed quickly, but anything like sports, racing, or online games that you tend to keep longer are worthless by the time you want to trade in.

Ideally what I want is a digital future where gaming is a "service" like netflix, or basically what we have in PS NOW. I'll be happy paying a monthly subscription (we pay monthly as it is anyway for xbox live, ps plus etc) and just having access to all the games.

I'd gladly pay 50 a month to have access to every game on demand.

Got a ton more games digitally, like:

Got about a zillion digital Vita games, so not gonna bother.

It's pretty sparse so far, but I think it's decently well-rounded

PS4:
-Bloodborne (digital)
-DriveClub
-GTA V
-Infamous Second Son
-Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
-The Last of Us Remastered (digital)

I used to buy a bunch of games last generation, so I'm trying to be a bit more selective this time around.

I get you, I don't like being pressured to beat a game either. But ultimately I've decided if I'm not going to play a game anytime soon, I should probably just go ahead and trade it in while I can still get something substantial for it.

I'm currently trading in Dragon Age: Inquisition to Target for $28. I bought it for $32, played the hell out of it, completed practically every side quest, but never actually got around to beating the game. But I'll buy it again when it dips to $10 or less, or if there's a GOTY Edition or something.

Also trading in Bloodborne to Target for $43 after having bought it for $48 and playing only 10 hours or so of it. I want to keep playing it, but Witcher just came out, and I don't have a ton of free time anyway. I figure it'll probably be available for $20 or so around Black Friday, so I'll reacquire it then.

I don't really enjoy trading in my games, but it's a much better strategy financially than to hold onto games that plummet in value and can be had for cheap later.

PC:
Grand Theft Auto V (It sorta counts as Current Gen)
Sims 4

PS4 (excluding PS+):

Bayonetta 1&2

Smash 4
Mario Kart 8
Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed
Super Mario 3D World
Captain Toad
Wonderful 101

...And a lot more I can't remember off the top of my head.

My Wii U collection is getting as large as my 3DS collection. My PS4 will definitely be getting more games this year since there are now a few that passed by me like Bloodbourne which I'll be getting possibly next month.

Had Bayonetta 1&2 (just sold it)
Super Mario 3D World
