Gravity Rush sequel (Team Gravity Project) M.I.A at E3

I know I'm not the only one rather annoyed by this, but where was Gravity Rush's appearance at this year's E3? The PS Vita game was a fantastic and fresh new IP from SCE Japan Studio, and a sequel has been in development for a while. The last we've heard from the game was what, TGS 2013? I'm guessing changes in development?

I want to see Kat back in action!

For what it's worth, there's an interview where Shuhei Yoshida has said that it's still in development & he has played it.

Edit: Beaten three times.

Yoshida was asked about it at E3 and he said that he's been playing it. It's more than likely been moved to the PS4, which is why it's taking additional time to surface. Toyama also mentioned that once we see it we'll understand why it's taken them so long to show it again.

It took them 8 years between showing off the initial The Last Guardian trailer to gameplay footage. So give them a few more years.

Considering this was likely being re-built for the ground up in mind for the PS4, the game must have needed a lot of time to develop.

And considering how packed this E3 was for Sony (remember, both Uncharted Collection, their work with Indie developers and even Ratchet & Clank wasn't that present in the E3 Conference; it was taken over by Horizon, Dreams, third party deals (AC, Call of Duty, ect), Last Guardian, Shenmue 3, and FFVII Remake), Sony must have pulled a lot of stuff from the original conference and decided to save that for future events (Paris Games Show, PSX, TGS).

News will come about this game, same with Sony Bends future project, the new God of War and other 'secret' Sony tittles. But they announced a lot at E3, so they want to save things for latter I guess.

Also, keep in mind that Studio Japan is working on TLG; Sony must want that out the door fast, so they likely have a large amount of the studio working on getting that complete in time for early 2016. So, once that is out, we might get more news on Gravity Rush 2/Gravity Rush Remastered/Gravity Rush Remake early next year.

I think we'll see a couple of other semi-surprise reveals this year, and Gravity Rush will be one of them in September. They already showed a lot at E3, and must be saving the rest. Still a number of conferences to get through before the year ends!

Gravity Rush 2 would perish among all those big announcements at Sonys Conference - same goes to many other games...
TGS is a better place to announce it, where it will get its spotlight

Sony has four major conferences every year and you're "rather annoyed" and guessing that there were changes in development because it wasn't announced at the first one?

It will have gone into full production alongside The Last Guardian in 2013, after Puppeteer and Knack came out. We'll see it soon enough.

Keiichiro Toyama (SCE Creative Director)

The team working on the next title has finally been organized and progress is coming along exceedingly well. It looks like 2014 will be a year where we immerse ourselves into our work, but we must live up to everyone’s expectations, so we’ll do our best at any rate!

We will probably see it TGS this year.

This game and Level-5's rumored game would have been buried in the megatons at Sony's conference. They made the right choice to omit them from this presser.

Yeah I want to see that JRPG at TGS. Probably finally get a blowout demonstration of Persona 5 there too.

Kinda Funny asked Shuhei about it in their E3 interview. Sorry, can't remember when it was mentioned to timestamp it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2oEbmyujIE

Basically, it's still in the works.

Here's a transcript:

Colin Moriarty: "You had said in interviews that the first parties aren't working on Vita games anymore, like triple-A---"

Shuhei Yoshida: "Triple-A, like Killzone: Mercenary sized."

Moriarty: "When I was at Tokyo Game Show a couple of years ago, you guys kind of quietly revealed Gravity Rush 2. It was just shown on the screen and people were just looking at it, then you never really talked about it again."

Yoshida: "I think we said 'new Gravity Rush'--"

Moriarty: "Or 'Gravity Project,' something like that. Everyone assumed that it was maybe a sequel. But I'm curious, is that maybe a PS4 game coming from Japan Studio? Because we haven't heard anything about that game since Tokyo in 2013."

Yoshida: "That's... another project that we are waiting [for the right time] to unveil. I've been playing the game for some time."

tldr; It's coming, Sony's got other venues where it can re-debut it.

Also, Gravity Rush Remaster will probably come before or bundled with it. If you remember, it was rated for PS4 in Korea: http://www.grb.or.kr/Statistics/Pop...690a20f4325a3cecd98f227eaeaf17ed258610ac557e8

Projects Shu teased on the Kinda Funny interview :

Japan Studio #1 : "current producing title he's very excited about" <- unannounced external development project?
Japan Studio #2 : "New Gravity Project" (playable for some time already, but waiting for right time to unveil)
Bend : "playable"
Quantic Dream : "playable"
Sucker Punch : "playable"

I'd guess that Japan Studio #1 is Level-5's game.

No surprises at the others. I'm sure we'll see Quantic and Bend's new games this year, probably at PGW.

I know nothing of them and still I want them all.

Iirc during an E3 interview Shuhei Yoshida said that it's coming along well and he has played it.

A TGS reveal makes the most sense.
Are you sure he wasn't dreaming it?

I wish it was Vita + PS4, but I know it will just be PS4. At least there is remote play. I still gotta get that working right >_>
