I actually think for wired instruments on XBox their official stance has just been definitely not AT LAUNCH but haven't said it will never happen ever. Just for this game's best chance to succeed I hope they eventually get figured out:

I think there are issues with the masters so it could be physically impossible.

Heh, Guitar Hero World Tour made a big deal about snagging Paramore for their setlist.
Well, they had a poorly animated Hayley Williams avatar to go along with it. Plenty of bragging rights!
Guitar Hero's 'guest artists' were seriously the cheesiest shit ever haha. Rock Band did it much better in Lego Rock Band, since Lego Freddie Mercury and Lego Blur are awesome.

honestly I'm expecting something around ~8.3. I think the stuff missing (NOT removed...) compared to last game is gonna keep it from 9s-10s in a lot of reviewers eyes. The new stuff though will help it out though along with the fact that HMX has the gameplay and feel on lock. I'm so excited for this game, Rock Band is such an important series in my life and I'm happy to finally have it on next gen.
Edit: Also I wouldn't say significantly less content. I think the biggest missing feature is online play which I think will be their first big update. Its a platform so I expect it to keep evolving and I'm excited to see how it looks by the end of the generation.

No IONs made me cancel my preorder, but I'm starting to think I'll still pick this up. I hate the idea of having to track down and use a stock kit again, but it'll do until some sort of ION workaround shows up. Is the $10 adapter still available on Amazon?

Do you have to use the bottom buttons for the freestyle solos or can you use the top ones?
If only the bottom, does the slider on GH5 guitars work to emulate buttons?

Any deals on band in a box? I may skip finding an old drum kit and just go that route, then pick up an adapter for my old guitars. I won't be getting the game til late November unless I find a good deal.
