Apparently Arslan had 40% sell through
Colour me surprised...

It's selling better because of new hardware. With all the vita announcements from TGS and games releasing from now to the end of the year , I think that Vita can sell YoY at this Xmas. It's starting to sell better now than last year

- Shin Megami Tensei IV Final

- Snack World
- Terraria
- Yokai Watch 3
- Dragon Quest XI
- Monster Hunter Stories
- Zero Escape 3
- Ace Attorney 6
- Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3
- Yokai Watch Sangokushi (really doubt it's coming out this year after all)
- Etrian Odyssey V
- Likely also is a regular Monster Hunter game, a new one, XG, whatever.
- Pokémon 20th anniversary games, I do expect more than one.
- Possibly more Yokai Watch spin offs.
It never stopped being huge:

I'm not sure if that is being ignored because the Vita did see a more steady release schedule in 2014 and so far in 2015. I think that there would be bigger gaps in the release schedule if many publishers only acted accordingly to specific trends. Getting closer to the end of the generation could have some impact though, but hard to know if we will see the big drop in 2016 or in 2017, in my opinion. I think the biggest impact will be in 2017.Something that seems to get ignored is that projects mostly get greenlit way before the announcement or first footage is beeing shown. PSV actually showed year on year growth last year at least up to a certain point, even in October 2014 it was like ~200k up year on year. It seems that some publishers saw a positive trend and acted accordingly. This largley explains announcements like SquareEnixes Saga and releases that now aren´t too far off anymore. Since then the trend obviously is showing straight into the opposite direction. It also doesn´t help that next gen isn´t too far off.
The blog reported 30-40% first day.
That could be.
Do you have a link?

Probably means this:
PSV will be in shelves in Japan and everywhere around the world until Sony decides otherwise.
Stores can reduce space, put them in a corner, whatever, they will still sell PSV hardware and software as long as Sony demands it and stores will comply, period. This isn't nintendo, Sony has a very strong presence across several departments in all major electronic stores and you don't want to piss them off.
Seeing how every single PS hardware has lasted for a decade on shelves, PSV will follow the pattern.
it's surprising it was even a point of discussion here.

As of last week I am now officially invested in Nintendo. Mostly just to pay tribute to them for my childhood, would be cool if the stock made me money too, but definitely not why I did it. Hopefully mobile and the NX take off.
Thanks
Although I mean a link to the actual blog itself. What do they actually post? Just first day sell through?
Slightly off topic question, but is there anywhere that lists sales numbers of Blurays in Japan?

Plot twist. Splatoon made Japan like multiplayer shooters so much that Fed Force becomes the best selling Metroid there.Don't forget the guaranteed to bomb, Metroid Prime: Federation Force lol.

Thanks, that seems a lot. I guess it's almost the same amount as PS4's lineup next year in Japan?

Funny how 2016 will have at least 5 million sellers on 3DS, while 2015 barely has 3.
There are two titles which will definitely do over a million in 2016. Three if we expect a new Pokemon game. Four if we expect a new Monster Hunter game too. There are a couple of titles which could do over a million, and should at least be close, but I don't think it's a given.

That's assuredly Monster Hunter X (which, judging by that number, is not getting a Western release this fiscal year).
I mostly see healthy sellers, but not that many million sellers are guaranteed from that list. The Pokemon Z (or whatever) is going to be the blockbuster (aside from DQ) assuming that all comes to pass and a few others seem potentially big, but I don't see five necessarily given what we know right now.
Yokai Watch!

Given the release and even reusing a lot of MH4U localization, I think it'd still take a few months at least to translate everything cleanly and clearly for the new styles and arts. (And that's assuming they don't skip it in favor of MHXG or whatever.)
Terraria had a retail release on PS4? No wonder it slipped into the shadows.Minecraft PS4 is getting a retail release on December 3rd: http://gamestalk.net/minecraft-15/
Might do well, or might do a Terraria PS4 and sell nothing.

Their fiscal year ends in March 2016. I suspect it's being skipped in favor of a complete edition.
But yes, it's possible it's an April or May title.
Nice. It seems that sales were not bad after all, otherwise they wouldn't have bothered in developing one game after the other one on the same platform. Indeed, Medarot 7 sold fine (107k); Medarot Dual not so greatly (48k), but Medarot 8 increased slightly (49k in the first month, we don't have updated data).
I have to say that list seems to be the best lineup list for an upcoming year for 3DS. So far in 3DSs life, strong announcements were often made within the same year. But also in general the lineup already looks very good for 2016, with a few uncertain things, some releases aren´t set in stone for 2016 yet. Will be interesting to see what surprises 2016 will hold for 3DS on top of the already very promising lineup with some millionsellers.
