Werewolf! |OT| Making Animal Friends Is Awesome?

The thing is that not only do we have the werewolves to deal with, but we know there's a serial killer in play. At least, I'm pretty sure we do from this line:

They should be able to kill once per night, right?

So then, I would think under normal circumstances, at least two people should have died. Assuming 2 kill orders were sent, that would mean 2 doctors managed to save both potential victims, which is highly unlikely.

Assuming 1 kill order was sent, that means 1 doctor managed to save 1 victim, while the other killing faction didn't send any kill order... which is kinda weird. Sparing someone so they don't have to die before day 1 starts?

No kill order being sent would be extremely strange, and the only thing I can think of is that both factions decided to not kill anyone because this was a night start; a sign of mercy? Weird thing, if so.

I also think this means we don't have a vigilante in play, because 3 different killing capable "factions" resulting in no one dying seems impossible.

I can hear Palmer wincing from here. Don't read too much into fluff. Palmer is the anti fluff. He's way fun at parties.

Vigilante could have chose not to use his kill last night since There's nothing to go on. Doctor could be possible but not definitive.

Nothing is certain

We're da beesssssst.

Remember! Please please please don't be cavalier with your role claims. You don't have to reveal you're the double bullet proof vigilante doctor just because like two people vote for you.
Agreed.

Btw, I am double bulletproof.

Isn't it considered bad for Vig to use his power early on anyway?
No. Pop it off on Day 1. You've still used your power even if you got night targeted or you get to claim vigilante if you're about to get lynched. Great example of this is Star Wars where the vigilante was night killed on Night 1 but used his power to kill a scum.

It is possible that there are multiple killing roles but some may have limitations. In Town of Salem, the werewolf only kills on even Nights.

Noted.

So an SK is not a certainty, then. Hm.

Either way, at least 1 kill order should have been sent from the werewolves, and it'd be one hell of a lucky role for a doctor to somehow prevent the kill. The doctor would have a 1/22 chance of pulling that off, or 4.5%.

So it's either that they have a limitation, or that no kill order was sent for some reason.

Day start/end killing/lynching fluff doesn't matter. The game intro, however...

Dangerous things stalk the Night.

It's pretty hilarious though.

Well of course you would endorse it, topo.

New kids, el topo tried to murder roytheone back in archer straight off, failed. So he murdered him the following night instead.

It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship....

In my defense, he was a clone of (a clone of) Adolf Hitler. I mean, that's about as good of a justification as you can get, no?

Sounds about the time for me to go to bed when topo tries to justify his actions yet again ;)

This two bulletproof thing is not sitting well for me currently. It reminds me too much of DR.

I think a SK is possible, though it makes last night even more bizarre with no kills. Maybe adds some weight to CB/makai but we will need more information.

I hope septimus chimes in at some point before I wake up.

Yea we survived night start.
I look forward to playing with all of you.

Guess we should probably get the lynch vs no lynch debate going

I say definitely lynch. Especially as I'm assuming we'll have more info than usual since some power roles will have already done stuff.

No lynchers, there's a wall over there you can stand against. Thx.

Hey, no one died! Good work, whoever did that! Actually, it's more likely someone is just bulletproof, but whatever.

As for the "person killing at night" role, potentially has limited uses so let's not read into the fact that wasn't two kills last night.

As some of you may know, I am in favor of lynching day one. And as some of you may also know, I don't vote unless I have a pretty good feeling about someone being suspect.

I normally vote No Lynch on Day 1 but I have a hunch this time. I did not expect to live through the night because of bad blood from last game. I bet multiple people targeted me - a Doctor and a Salty Werewolf.

So The werewolves have the option to abstain? I'm new, Didn't know that was a thing. kinda weird IMO, seems like a waste.

Listen here you little fucking...

But actually I'm not super salty about Dangan.

If they did abstain, It must have been to use the abstinence as a mind game thing right?

No, that would be a real dumb mind game. Their entire objective is to kill us; they gain nothing from not killing Town.

I agree with Flux. I don't see any real value in withholding a kill at this point in the game. It is generally a bad strategy for mafia anyway, and I think an even worse strategy N0, I mean even if there had been a death we'd still be playing blind D1 for the most part.

so we had to have a block or save then? seems like it might be a ploy to get the roleclaims coming fast and dirty.

I'm just not really sure how that ploy would lead to an early role claim.

If I were mafia and wanted role claims I'd just try to start a bandwagon on whoever I suspected might have a PR. Just based on past games, people role claim a LOT prematurely when their ass is on the voting block.

I don't think there's much of an advantage for them to do that, though. Since we started on a night phase, they could have killed anyone, and no one would really have any clue why.

On the other hand, what are the odds that the blockers would guess exactly right on whom to use their abilities?

Well, there are 22 players. Assuming one doctor, that puts the odds at 4.5%

So uh... pretty low?

Speaking of, I'd like to talk game theory.

If you were a blocker and targeted someone N0, and then the next day there were 0 kills, would you role claim and basically sacrifice yourself to get an almost sure mafia lynch D1? Me personally? I'd probably do it.

In which case withholding a kill could be a legitimate play. But that's a gamble for mafia since it trades a kill on the hope that a roleblocker even exists. And it means the town power roles get a whole extra night to fool around with their abilities.

No, because you don't know what abilities others have. Say you're a blocker and there's no kill. Well, do you know if there's a doctor, too? Or maybe a bulletproof? Or something else? It's too early to tell who or what could have stopped a kill.

How the hell would that guarantee a mafia lynch? We'd just lose the blocker that night. Explain yourself.

Funny thing about that...

This exact scenario happened in a GAF game at some point, and they didn't even block the scum.

Ok so lets say I am the blocker and I blocked Makai (i'm not and I didn't). If I tell everyone that, then we get a lynch on Makai going. Boom, one mafia down. Of course now I am likely to die next night, unless a Doctor saves me.

This of course has me make the assumption that other roles didn't interfere with me or my target. It is a probability game I guess.

This scenario is not assuredly how things would go down. Putting aside the possibility that no one died due to a doctor or a bulletproof, there's no guarantee that people would believe you.

In that scenario I'd keep quiet and target the same person again during the next night; and then if few more night goes by without any deaths, say something. That's what killed us in the Archer game.

Just don't talk about your role at all for the first couple of days, even if you have information that you think is useful.

Okay, just as a heads up to ANY AND ALL POWER ROLES THAT MIGHT BE READING THIS.

1. ACT LIKE AN ORDINARY TOWN.
2. DO NOT HINT AT YOUR ROLE
3. DO NOT CLAIM YOUR ROLE
4. IF YOU CLAIM YOUR ROLE (DON'T DO THIS) DON'T SAY WHAT IT DOES
5. USE YOUR GOD DAMN COMMON SENSE
