I feel better about this now. Though I'm curious about how they'll deal with the overworld.
-You can control other party members, but you can keep control one if you want
Have they confirmed a PC release or not yet?
I wonder if they'll have mods. Maybe someone can hack together a traditional combat mode. Probably too much work, but maybe someone would if possible.
heres more i stole
Nomura: VII in one work would turn into a digest. We judged that the remake must be full volume, so we decided to make [VII] multi-part.
Nomura: A subtitle for the VII remake would give the impression of a spin-off or sequel, so they avoided using one.
Nomura: If we make the characters reall, they'll look like real people and no one will recognize them, so we're aiming to balance.
Nomura: Advent Children models are too old, so they've been refining the graphics and balancing reality and deformation.
Aside from the CG shown at the beginning of the trailer, everything is in real-time. You can alter the camera angle during the train scene.
Cloud's appearance has to partially to do with the lighting and his pale skin. Nojima had said Cloud's sickly appearance is brilliant.
Cross-dressing scene will be included. Nomura has yet to work on the design, however.
NMR: VIIR is completely different from Crisis Core's battle system. Not as actiony as Dissidia Arcade or KH but closer to that style.
NMR: VIIR has ATB, but it's not the type where you wait for the gauge to fill up and then attack. It is connected with the action system.
NMR: 3-member parties, all interchangeable and playable. You don't have to change characters if you don't want.
NMR: The battle speed they're aiming for is Dissidia Arcade's. The battles we saw in the trailer are kind of like a standard to aim for.
Nomura went over the trailer so many times and doubted if it'd be all right to show, but the reaction he received has relieved him.
also in interviews(info is somewhere on last pages of other thread) they confirmed they want to add new stuff and surprises so its not the same experience to even surprise us old school fans
So they wanted Cloud to appear sickly?
Someone remind of the story reason behind this

If it came out as turn based. A lot more people would stop caring.
So glad SE is smart enough to ignore an insignificant niche.

Maybe they'll split the game into continents.
Depending on how much of Midgar they want to give us now, that one area could be one part itself.
I dunno.
It's just killed my hype thinking like this. The beauty of 7, hell any JRPG is flying around that big map able to go anywhere. Revisting places. Doing side quests as you see fit. Just doesn't work if you break it up into episodes.
Flashbacks of Star Ocean 4 on the 360. I loved switching discs.

I think that's not going to be the system they're going for. Thing of them not as separate releases that stand on their own, but rather additions that complement each other. For example, in Episode I, you'd only be able to explore one continent, just like the original game before you get to Junon. Then the map would open up more and more with every episode until you get Highwind and you could go everywhere.
I just hope they try to keep the number of episodes minimal.
I hope that's the case.
Split into 7 parts? The max I expect is 3 like the original discs.
This is all well and good, but I hope to see them pin down dates for the releases because this is Square after all. It would also be nice to know the grand total for episodes they plan on releasing.heres more i stole

ATB and action? Uh.... that sounds like the worst of both worlds to be honest.
So what is the consensus regarding spoilers? It's a 18 year old game and I personally believe we shouldn't use spoiler tags, but I don't know about the rest.
2005 demo was crappy in many ways, it even used alpha test textures for faraway geometry like original FFVII on ps1.Realtime cutscenes are better for posterity yeah.
In retrospect, that 2005 tech demo seemed like a bunch of BS.I seriously doubt a PS3 could produce that kind of quality in real time. Here we are in 2015,and most games still don't look as good as that demo did.
I can definitely see them getting Part 1 done like the end of Disc 1. To refresh other's memory on what it contained, here is a nice summary. It also ended with a very key sequence that will drum up the excitement and marketing for the next part.

I understand that it's a huge game, and they want to fit everything in... but why sell us three (at best) parts?
Damn, just publish it as a full multi-blu ray disc game (talk about nostalgia!) in 2018.
