They look so real (specially the last pic) but they have GT logo. maybe they are GTS car models on real locations?
Pics are from Jordan & Dionisiy - GTPlanet

Seems to me that the FIA thingy will be just another sticker on the cover, as Top Gear and Nascar once were. How, and more to the point, why will a motorsport sanctioning body will make rules for laser driven cars and whatnot?

This obsession about fictional cars that nobody cares about is going to kill the game for me. Enough with it already. Give us real cars, racing machines, things you really want to drive.

I think I saw before that one of the tracks in GT was one of the only racing game circuits approved for authenticity by FIA. I guess they will be making a big deal out of that?

That sounds like a big deal, to have the only racing game with absolute 1:1 real world circuits. I do not know how it is in games like Forza now, but I remember that in the past, games like Forza and GRID were not 1:1, and in some cases intentionally modified real-world circuits.

Okay, I know this exact location on earth, because I live there. It's showing the road between Müllenbach and Kelberg, right next to the Nurburgring in Germany. This part os actually located where the Südschleife was located before it was replaced by the new Grand Prix Track in 1984.

To make a long story short, this is a foto.

So the car is superimposed on a background photo?

Oh well, the cars still look good.

If anyone is unsure about the bullshottery, look at the Lexus RCF picture, specifically the people behind it. Considering how terrible PD's models of people tend to look, it's pretty safe to say these are renders, photos, or GTS models superimposed on RL pictures.

Photolocations might now use 3D real life shots (see phones and google do it so why not) with rendered cars.

It might also be a 3D "film"... If Jaffe had access to it for his new game's menu you know...

Random thought-- It might be built as one of the VR elements. Merely having a "float a camera around this freaking awesome real-world car you'll never in a billion years actually get to see using extremely high resolution actual photos" sounds like a reasonable GT series feature, even moreso assuming it's done for cars you'll actually get to drive.

I'm not sure in which sense you posted this .gif, but it's true lol, Jeff Gordon was creepy and soulless:
The sense in which you think PD are incapable of employing or outsourcing people to render photorealistic (translucent!) humans, from a distance, without their faces showing clearly.

And the limited info release on GTsport means you're really having to dig deep to find something to be concerned about.

Digging? Really?

People are posting screenshots and literally discussing whether or not they're bullshots. I said "they're probably bullshots because x", how is that digging?

So these are bullshots.

As usual with GT

?? No one said they were screenshots of anything. It's pictures of art on a wall. If anything it's photomode type shots of rendered cars on real places. Though some could be real cars in real places.

Guys... this is a pretty common thing... putting renders in real life pictures. It gives you a good sense of how accurate your 3D models and lighting are.

Have they used real photos before the Le Mans Bugatti shots? They must be ashamed of their PS4 GT6 assets to do this?

Expectation towards AI is increasing.

This Super GT driver sampled the new AI? banderas.gif

I'd have the game looking like GT4 if it had the best AI and physics of all time.

They need to take a page from DriveClub's book and focus on making the environments as detailed and lively as possible. I think we have reached a point where cars look incredible already. no point in wasting pixels and processing power on making them even better.

Let's make trees look like trees. Let's improve rain and snow effects and add some damage.

This is definitely a photo, and not in-game.

All good, but the big question is still unanswered, how the cars sound :) I just can't believe that they will mess this up, if they nail the the sounds then this could be the perfect console sim racing. But I guess we have to wait for the E3 gameplays

Sound was one of the things that they specifically mentioned would be improved when it was revealed. But only time will tell. I think it's probably the main thing people are concerned about with a new GT. We know that they are listening to fans as they hired one of the audio leads for Forza to help with the sound and they hired DRIVECLUB's UI designer for that aspect. Those were two areas that were heavily criticized last gen.

One question:

Can I use my Driving Force GT wheel? No? Then it's a shame, I'm not buying your game.

That's not really PD's call. Logitech isn't releasing drivers to make it compatible with the PS4 because they want to sell G29's. The only real hope is that PD can pull some strings since they are/were close to Logitech.

holy fucking fuck @ that last one.

it's a photo? so they just shopped the car in?

It could be like a photovista mode where they're using photographs as backgrounds/environments and the car is a enhanced game model. In which case it's still impressive to achieve something so realistic. If it's just a real car, real location... Big deal.
