Quantum Break coming to PC on April 05

Whats the point in having an X1 now if all the exclusives start coming to PC?

Majority of people playing these types of games are usually on the consoles. You think PS4 sold well because of Knack? People don't care much about exclusivity when looking at the big picture.

How threads with false titles on Neogaf goes on as long as they do without being edited amazes me.

Gears 4 and Scalebound was an error by the writer which was corrected in like 5 minutes of posting the article.

Happy about Quantum Break and cross-buy

Well here's an answer I guess?

There you have it. :p

There might be some options that fuck up the performance badly, like Ubersampling in The Witcher 2. I just hope I can play this at 60fps with a gtx 970 without turning too much down.

Good for the PC space.

However, I am always confused by the individuals that imply that this marks the end of the Xbox console this gen.

I gotta admit I never expected Microsoft to be that ambitious.

They definitely earned my respect there. I simply can't remain sceptical to their claims of taking PC gaming seriously anymore.

Well played Spencer, well fucking played.

I was not interested in QB that much but now I will seriously consider it.

That's great.

Would love Halo MCC but probably won't happen, the problems at launch don't help either.

My dream is to have a fixed version of MCC for PC. Don't care about the story of Halo all that much but the multiplayer is a lot of fun.

Also Crackdown would be great.

This is... some of the best gaming news I've ever heard. I can't wait to play Quantum Break on my new PC. And hopefully others! I'd buy Halo MCC and Halo 5 INSTANTLY if they came to PC, as well as Scalebound. MS making some smart moves here.

As long as it's on Steam and not Windows Store exclusive, that'd be great.

Tomb Raider has issues with a fucking config menu on the Windows Store.

This is the smartest move possible for Microsoft. Turn the Xbox platform to be more like Steam - you can have a dedicated Steam console for your TV or play on your PC.

Xbox Two should just be a PC in a console case running Windows 1x. Create synergy across the technology platforms. The only problem is if they make that a closed platform and don't allow Steam/Origin to play along, but I think that's less likely.

Windows 10 is on 200 million devices. Leverage those and there's no competition in the console space. Then the numbers truly are about XBL MAUs when you're dealing with that install base.

I understand its smart for them either way, but if the X1 exclusives will come eventually to PC; Why even bother buying a X1?

Why did people bother buying Xbox 360 by the millions mostly to play CoD (and pay extra monthly fee on top) when it was available on PC day 1?

Why are millions of people doing the same with PS4?

"Every Xbox One Quantum Break pre-order made through the Xbox Store or participating retailers will get you a download code for the Windows 10 version of Quantum Break and Xbox One backwards compatible version of Alan Wake’s American Nightmare."

Absolutely brilliant. If this is the model Microsoft is using going forward its a win win for both xb1 and win10. People need to understand Xbox One is just a Windows 10 computer with a gaming UI that Microsoft sells for $300. If you buy a Win10 PC with even at the minimum specs for QB your are looking at $600-$800.

WTF? The F game doesn't even look that good to require that much PC power and XBONEs hardware is nowhere near these PC specs. Shitty PC port detected.

Have we even seen single second of PC version footage? I'm very willing to give Remedy benefit of doubt here, they have been very solid with their PC versions in past.

Was this known?

Quantum Break includes full game download of Alan Wake, the Xbox 360 game playable on Xbox One, as well as The Signal and The Writer add-ons. The code for these items will be delivered to your Xbox Message center within 7-10 days of Quantum Break’s release.

This is silly. A computer does so so much more than a Xbone can

Things are looking real sweet on PC if this all is true.

I am really excited to play QB and Scalebound on my PC, especially.

I don't own an XBO and have zero intentions to, so any exclusive they bring to PC is a new sale for them out of me.

Am i the only one who thinks they might be giving away the win10 version on preorders for one of these two reasons :

1-To boost the X1 SKU by having PC gamers buying it, and giving the impression that the X1 exclusive games can sell very well on this plateform. (It will affect the split)
or
2- To boost pre-orders a lot and secure a maximum of sales because they know the game won't score as high as we expect.

or maybe it's just a good offer and i'm a cynical asshole. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wow. This solidifies my Xbox as a waste of money. QB was the main reason I got one because I was expecting the PC port to show up years later.

Yeah, people on here seem to ignore the tens of millions of gamers who only game on console and don't own $1500+ gaming PC's. I'm one of them. Still good news for PC owners...

Maybe it's all those things and a great deal?

That's an extremely cynical take and a ton of work to go through for a bit of good PR.

Honestly I'd say it's to force people with pc/xb1 to perhaps give the windows store a bit more of a look.

Are you beeing serious?

Lol. The game probably just scales really high.

I mean, I know there's not a single PC screenshot available yet, but the game is not really looking that good and PC version must look A LOT BETTER than XONE version to require 4790K and 980Ti. Time will tell of course, but I'm just sure it won't be.

And what's with 980? It kinda looks like a shitty card now with all these 980Ti requirements first in ROTTR and now in QB. You may as well just throw it away cuz it sucks and only has 4 GB of VRAM. Damn.

Feels like just last week when I read on GAF that PC gamers waiting for these games were in for a looooooong wait.

Glad Microsoft is embracing PC fully. I have no desire for another console in my life at this point.

Windows 10 exclusive games, so I'm not going to give them that much credit. It's yet to be seen how much effort is being put into these versions, too.

Sorry, I just saw this thread and am trying to catch up.

I saw mentioned randomly in another thread that preordering the Xbone version nets you the PC version for free? Is that confirmed?

Can't we see Forza and Halo coming to PC eventually though?

I understand its smart for them either way, but if the X1 exclusives will come eventually to PC; Why even bother buying a X1?

I think the assumption Microsoft is making is that most people who will buy their AAA games on PC are people who won't go and buy an Xbone.

Also I think Forza is everything but officially confirmed coming to PC.

Well if you Compare Alan Wake Xbox 360 vs. PC, the Pc version looks a lot better with higher Resolution and 60 FPS. The Pc version was already the Next gen HD Remaster of Alan Wake

If they put the same effort into Quantum Brake, the PC version going to look really good

YES!
This was THE Xbox exclusive that I wanted to play and couldn't, I love Remedy.
Will definitely get it for PC. I wouldn't mind Gears 4 either.

I'm wondering if there will be retail PC copies of this game. The going price for retail PC games is 40-45€ in Europe, but digital stores tend to charge 60€ which I refuse to pay for any game.
