Pretty sure JS said something along the lines that it would make it too easy for someone to open a steamworks game in store and activate it.

i've heard that the runtime restriction disappears 3 months after activation, so i gave it a try when Wolfenstein + Addon where available for cheap somehwere.

Today is the 3 month anniversary, lo and behold, it actually works!

This is true

I've been playing the uncensored Wolfenstein: NO and OB without problems or using a VPN

I very much doubt this applies to region-locked gifts activated with a VPN, though.

Edit: Apparently it does. I wonder if this -- as in, the three month expiration date existing at all -- is unintentional.

People get wrapped up in it. It's understandable.

I'm pretty sure someone here is still salty about me telling him how much I loathe R6 Siege and have no plans to buy or play The Division. When you make something a large part of your life (as a hobby or otherwise), it's natural to get your back up when others disagree with you. I'm guilty of it too.

Your attitude is what I take umbrage with and you did exactly the same thing you did with me with zyklon a couple of days earlier talking about Fallout New Vegas. If you instigate a talking point but then instead of engaging with people you throw petulant insults or try to shut conversation down by telling them to move on rather than respond to their post then I don't know what on earth you're doing on a discussion forum anyway. I couldn't give a monkey's if Rainbow 6 isn't your cup of tea, that's your prerogative but you brought it up, I responded and then you seemed to get agitated. I think at the end of the day you want to heed your own advice rather than insisting it's other people that are at fault.

Case in point. I made my statement. You had nothing substantial to argue beyond a handful of talking points (and it was mostly nonsense anyway), so I dropped it.

Regardless, when I browse forums, it's best to heed the MST3K Mantra - "I should really just relax."

What the fuck are you talking about? You made a comment on a post between me and another GAFfer regards to The Division's single player offerings. You bring up about it's going to be as dead as Rainbow 6 Siege, which then myself and at least 2 other posters said that's not really that case at all. You ignored the other 2, and replied to mine which at least tried to put some conclusive number out there which might show how dead or alive the game is. And your reply was just to say I was fanboying it up. I'm lost for words mate, I really am. I certainly want something of what you're taking.

Well... you were. I was pointing out some of the failings of R6's reception with gamers, based on what I had read over on Gaming-side, and you overreacted, just like you're doing now. And no, I'm still not going to buy The Division. Played a bit of the beta and just wasn't feeling it.

I can see this is a touchy subject for you, so why don't I let you get back to your game and be content with what you have.

well, i guess we're getting an entirely night time battlefield game with low player counts and barbed wire or something

because otherwise, my original point stands: WWI was a years-long battle of attrition. Unless they want to do the early conflicts where stupid things like the french army going to the battlefield in their colorful attire from the napolean era led to them getting slaughtered by the tens of thousands in a completely lopsided battles is a thing they want to cover.

There's literally no part of WWI that lends itself well to the battlefield style of gameplay. Even the most bloodiest parts are just massacres but in an enormous scale. I'd like to see them prove me wrong, though

I'm afraid you're wrong. Even ignoring the entire Eastern Front which avoided trench warfare and remained a battle of manoeuvre, you have events like the Battle of Cambrai, where the British Army displayed combined arms tactics with tanks and planes and infiltration, along with the entire last year of the war.

You could easily place a standard Battlefield campaign during the Spring Offensive or the Hundred Days Offensive. Which is what I think they'd do. You play as one of the American Expeditionary Forces and take part in the battles of the Hundred Days, with flashbacks to the more notable events earlier in the war.

I don't think it'd be very good, because there's never been a good campaign from the Battlefield series, but that sort of outline would be workable.

How do you change store country on the fly like that? You still get a 2 week cooldown?

Because you're stubborn about... well, everything.

I'll be the first to tell you when I'm wrong about something, but when your argument boils down to "you don't know how good it is unless you've bought the game" (which was the end result our conversation concluded on), and you ignore half of what I've said, then I know your statements don't hold water.

Happens all the time. Regardless, I hold no ill will towards you.

seeing as how Nuuvem's copy of The Division (and its Gold Edition) are region locked to SA countries only now I'll try and pick up a copy in the BST thread for cheap...problem is it doesn't seem like many people are selling and the ones that do have it are selling for higher than I'm willing to go

I'm kind of hoping i can find somebody to trade it for my copy of Hitman.

I want to reiterate that the hit detection in DS3 seems really bad. Not sure if attacks are clipping or what, but it's very noticeable close-quarters where you simply don't have room to put space between yourself and the enemy. (Ambushes, man) Missing at near-point blank is just so common, and late game enemies are bullet sponges as is.

Jesus. You are a spoiled little brat, aren't you?

What's a foil drop?

How do I get one?

Pls help

I only got one useless foil in my entire steam time ;_;

Foil drops are curses unless it's for some new popular anime type game. And even then, most of the time you're better off finding the highest buy order, if one exists, before the race to the bottom happens and something that you listed at par with the only other available for $10.37 ends up netting you $0.15.

How are you judging this? Are you playing a JP copy or something at a pre-release event?

SUPERHOT's friend discount is a neat idea. I went from "I think I'll wait a while" to "I cannot access this website fast enough."

The SUPERHOT is strong in me.

Turn the difficulty down to easy and enjoy the bro-op, shaka brah.

Then brace yourself for one of the worst final levels of that gen. Because it's something else.

Saw a gameplay video, and I'm seriously considering picking it up. I'm digging the art aesthetic and game mechanics.

Might jump on the Nuuvem deal if it's still available.

Already beat in normal ages back. Playing on Impossible because I just finished Dead Space 2 on zealot. No NG+, I need the cheese to occupy my brain. These enhanced necros take like an entire clip each, my rocket launcher/shotgun/bolas trifecta just ain't handling things too well.

You can change store regions on the cart page or your account page. You have up to two options: the country within which you last completed a purchase and the country as determined by your IP (if they're one and the same, then you'll have just the one option). Whether or not you're slapped with a cooldown period seems to be random -- some people get it, others don't.

Are people actually port begging mods now? What is even happening.

i mean if you want mods then you should maybe consider investing in the platform that is mod friendly instead of closed boxes that rarely ever allow for such things. Also, how do we know the consoles could even properly handle all the addition resources needed to properly play the RE4 HD Mod? They didn't even get the REmake to run at 60 on consoles, for example

Though you gotta admit, that RE4 texture mod is the type of thing that Capcom should pay those folks for because good lord is that thing looking incredible.

I don't blame them. You can double or triple the shelf life of any game just by introducing mods. I don't think I would have had nearly as much fun with FO: NV if I didn't add some of the companion mods (seriously, Ulysses as a companion is amazing) and the restored content.

I've said it before, but if Bethesda (or anyone else) came out with a system that allowed modders to get semi-official support and make big expansion-pack style mods while charging for it, I'd be all over it.

Foils cards give 10x more gems than normal cards. But I don't think there are cards that can be turned into more than 10 gems.
Just a quick glance through my inventory for normal cards worth more than 10 gems:
The Deer God - 11
AI War - 20
Agarest: Generations of War - 17
Alan Wake 20

edit: I see the CS:GO edit. almost makes me want to put some buy orders in for cheap CS:GO boosters.

I'll bare that mind when pricing foils in the future. I'm assuming all cards of a set are of equal gems.

Speaking of gems blame their spike in value on NEKOPARA Vol. 2. The market price for those cards was such that using the booster pack creator was profitable.

My bad. My Dark Souls 3 hype is out of control, so I thought you were talking about that with DS3, forgot you were playing Dead Space. Not helped by the fact that we have someone who played it and can talk about it on March 1st too.

Don't know, don't really pay attention to gems.
Edit: the one foil I have left is worth 30 gems. Or I can sell it to the highest buy order of $0.25.

What?

If you guys want gems, wait until the next sale (summer?) and start banking all the emoticons you get from crafting/badges. Those usually go for a massive amount of gems (80-100, I believe, on average). Then you can spend the 750 on a Nekopara pack and roll the dice.

What?

I see, that's lame :<

I remember turning a $0.07 foil card into 320 gems.
