You can change store regions on the cart page or your account page. You have up to two options: the country within which you last completed a purchase and the country as determined by your IP (if they're one and the same, then you'll have just the one option). Whether or not you're slapped with a cooldown period seems to be random -- some people get it, others don't.

Oh, alright. I changed to JP before to get the RE0 DLC, but now there is a new one, but I can't be arsed to wait those 2 weeks again. ffff

Tunnel bear Chrome extension is what I use.

It works super well. Super easy to install as a Chrome extension.

I was unsatisfied with Vyper VPN when I tried it yesterday: all South-American servers were unresponsive. Other servers were a bit slow to respond.

Latest is free on demand, so you can just use steam://install/430390 to get it.

Unfortunately this can't be used for others as they are 'NoCost' -type.

I've bought 軒轅劍外傳穹之扉. Was curious about it since I've never played a Chinese RPG and the series is supposed to be famous. It's also the first time it's available in English. 14$ CDN isn't much either. Will probably download during the weekend. It will be fun to alternate between FE and this.

From now on, I'll mention it as Dead Space 3. Forgot March was coming up...

stick to your guns.

They should be calling it DS3rd, or DSIII. Maybe DS2+1 since it's japanese and they love their names with math signs and such.

they could use DaSo3 too as an ode to GeDoSaTo

they have options, rtcn63. Stick to your (space) guns.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Looks like John Cook left Valve. One of the co-creators of Team Fortress. His entry got removed from the employee's page.

That's kinda sad, if true. The few times I had the pleasure of interacting with him, he was a genuinely nice guy.

soon all devs will leave :D

I think you meant to end that with a :(

Well unless they're all jumping ship to start a company called Governor, their first product is a game called Exponential-Decay and they release a unified patching and digital distribution platform called Vapour.

Eh, it's just that I didn't have enough context to discern between the two. :)
I don't think of close up stuff for hit detection in Dead Space... I usually used some form of the plasma cutter to dismember everything before it got remotely close if possible.

Why should we be sad? They were obviously bored at Valve doing nothing new for years.

Has anyone here looked at Danganronpa with GeDoSaTo and texture dumping? The kerning on the lower case i's is doing my nut in. Oddly only appears on the blue font and not the rest of the typeface so is 99.99% a sprite sheet issue and would probably be a 10 second fix to shift it over to the left a little. I would but I'm on a Win 10 machine I can't really get into the bios to get GeDo to play ball.

You'd kind of hope in the dawn of the VR world that's going to kick off in a couple of months that a lot of these folks would want to be sticking around but it's been anything but the case for the last year or so.

It's a thing if you're playing solo and on Impossible. Unavoidable for the most part, but the game does let you farm items if you need health and ammo. (I don't actively do it since I have quite a bit hoarded, but some of these late-areas don't fuck around. Those annoying children necros are good for refilling stock.)

Although I've never been into upgrading stasis. I've just encountered those
super fast twitching enemies
and maybe I should use up some of those dozens of stasis packs I have stored.

I hope all these devs leaving Valve are going into this business called game development.

Laidlaw and Woods have retired. No idea about Backman. And it's not confirmed if Cook has left (his entry getting removed points towards that though). All of them have been with Valve since the beginning.

Valve did their part regarding VR with Vive. I really don'think that Valve will work on Vive 2. They will give everything to HTC or whoever they want or open it for everybody completely and call it a day. If Valve had any intentions to work on VR games they would show them already. Writing Dota 2 lore and balancing Dota 2 and CSGO is not something that most of talented devs there want to do. And if they worked on L4D3/HL3 they probably got bored with prototype scraping and starting all over again.

This is how i feel. That is why i asked few weeks ago what almost 300 devs at Valve do.

I think dex3108 is secretly a Valve employee. He speaks with so much conviction about what Valve wants to do, what their future intentions are, what it's employees want to do, what they don't want to... it has to be inside information. There's no way someone could come up with so much fiction, right?

I get bored too so i like to imagine different things :D But no seriously it is public secret that Valve works on L4D3 for years now and we still have nothing. Valve develops VR device without game to push it. Source 2 got officially announced almost exactly year ago and since then silence. Only thing we see regularly from them are Dota2/CSGO updates and Steam updates.

a mixture of retirement and Im sure some disappointment with level designers being told to write controller drivers.

Or maybe that level designer actually wanted to write Steam controller code? Not a far-fetched scenario. That has been Valve's MO since their inception. Multitalented people doing all kinds of things. It worked for HL. Several people on HL1 weren't even professional devs.

Valve, in addition to being a private company, has all of the money in the world and thus can afford to take as much time as needed on its game projects. I wouldn't be so concerned about its future as a game developer when its last wholly internal project hasn't even turned five. Valve works on passion projects, essentially, whereas most other developers are backed by publishers whose shareholders demand regular output.

In all seriousness though, you're probably right. A lot of the "core team" that were initially responsible for Valve's success are moving on because the company probably isn't doing the things now that made it initially successful. They've grown from an "independent gaming company that makes games" to a "gaming platform publisher" in just a few short years.

In a way, it's good that Valve is able to adapt and be agile enough to make Steam the success that it has been, but you're right that there was probably some resentment there. Mr. Cook in particular was one of the original Quake modders that made Team Fortress and ended up being in charge of the development of Steam (which is how I came in contact with him after several of the emails I sent to Gabe Newell were forwarded on to John). I'm not saying he wasn't fit for the job, but once the initial platform is developed and things are running smoothly it's not exactly the same kind of "day to day" experience as game development would be.

It will be interesting to see how Valve grows, given how many of their "senior members" have parted ways now.

Did someone here played Layers of Fear?
How the hell I unlock other endings? Because really, I played it three times, the first blindly, other two trying to achieving another ending, I got always the same one, the "neutral" one.
I just youtubed those endings, but I want to know why I can't achieve them, it's infuriating.
I don't know if I triggered a bug, because the dev suggested on steam community hub to mail him the save in case you can't unlock other endings.

Seeing as it's somewhat a SteamGAF tradition if you are playing a game with user created goons and the game involves some form of permadeath you go name them all after SteamGAFfers. So here's the first batch of you up for the choppingblock...
I'll try not to do an iosefe and get you folks killed.

In honor of staying up all night trying to get the damn thing to work on Mac, and now it working on Mac, let's do this.

Oh, I didn't know you could name your units. I should do that on my playthrough as well.

SUPERHOT's friend discount is a neat idea. I went from "I think I'll wait a while" to "I cannot access this website fast enough."

it's horrible

it literally turns people into shills and then gives them a shill post to copy and paste so that they can shill even more and more

it's disgusting

You can rename pretty much all but the important story characters. When you go to the assembly and create a new unit it asks you to name them and I think you can rename captured/recruited monsters too.
