DSR doesn't work with UWP . . .
Yes it does. It's inelegant because you have to set your desktop resolution to the DSR resolution you want to use, but it works. I've done it on ROTTR.
It works, but you need to set your desktop resolution.
I'm in the thread for no other reason than fascination.
Y'all stay hating on UWP but are here in this thread waiting on this game that is UWP.
I said this in that other thread that no matter the complaints, y'all still want the games.
At the end of the day, all that matters are the games. UWP ain't going nowhere pimp.
Those PNGs do look a bit better.
Compared to XB1 version, yes. But it's clear that they're not rendered at native resolution. So blurry.

I can see some definite IQ improvements over the XB1 version, thanks!
The 'smoothness' setting applies just the same way. The end result is identical. It's just annoying having to change your desktop resolution before and after.OK, but that's not DSR, that's just plain downsampling. DSR is the term for Nvidia's combination of downsampling and some fancy filter to make it look nicer.
Will people who preordered on the Xbox one be able to sell on their codes once they get them?
Or will the codes be tide to their accounts?
No not really. Short of Halo MCC/Halo 5 with m&k support and dedicated servers, nothing is going to help UWAs succeed. And even then, I'm not 100% sure that there's really an appetite for them either.
And if these MS exclusives are so appealing then why is the Xbone in a distant second place this gen?
Seems odd they would use codes if it's already tied to an account...but I guess you never know with MS.
I'm hoping they are transferable as I already paid someone for thier code.
These are still full of blur.
A cursory glance will tell you it's upscaled from a lower internal resolution.Someone with the game give some fps comparison in the same location between different resolutions. This should tell us if its upscaled or not, no?

Nope.

I told y'all that you couldn't just rip out a core rendering technique, even for a PC port, without significant reverse engineering.
Nah, UWP doesn't mean they HAVE to use the EXACT same code for ports.
But they would have had to do some serious work to change rendering techniques from a game that was designed from the ground up as an xb1 exclusive.
This looks like the result of strict deadlines.
Yeah. It's either some weird post processing AA usage or maybe that XB1 rendering technique applied with a higher resolution. I hope this gets sorted out soon, but people will not be happy if their game running at "4K" looks barely 1080p.

I'd be surprised if MS didn't tie codes to the account. Why would they just give people two copies of a game, Knowing that many people would sell the second copy... I think they'd rather sell two copies themselves.
Maxed out at 1440p.. as others have said IQ is not greatest but could be worse.

wtf.....is it just upscaling the image?
It will not be sorted out.
This is how their engine and rendering works.
Needless to say this is substandard PC port. I don't want to make excuses for them, if you can't make the PC version run at actual native resolutions above 720p then you failed.
I hope Totalbiscuit rips them to shred.
are we sure its not a stylistic choice? (if it is shame its not optional if)
if its not sham theres no option for a clean native image
lolThey can't quit the game to let us know.
Sure you can. Just remove the reconstruction shader and display the game in it's real rendering resolution. It's not as much "core" as you think. You'll be loosing some TAA which may be a part of the reconstruction shader at worst but this can be reimplemented back. What we have here looks just like a straight up XBO version of the game running on PC, it's not even a port.
Is that a rhetorical question ? Just take a look.
Hopefully we get some pixel counters on the case. I wonder if they really are using the 720p frames even for 4K.

This is obviously not 1440p native. You must have never paid any attention to IQ for that to even be a question.kind of.....there is so much blur for 1440p shots
I understand the rationale behind such a setup on consoles but we don't need that on PC really, or at least give the choice like Rainbow Six.
Who would choose this blurry 'style' than a much cleaner IQ?
I understand the preferences for film grain, vignette, or even CA, but this is just baffling.
It works, but you need to set your desktop resolution.
What do you mean by that?
