It's not like I have much to do in SF5 right now. The only thing that keeps me interested is the monthly updates, which are just too slow for me to maintain interest for a long period of time.

Ain't that something. I am killing myself to find time in my schedule just to play enough to get better even a little bit and here you are just ignoring altogether. If I could just set aside my love of Street Fighter, I'd be at peace like you.

Go into training mode, set the dummy to random block with counter hit on, practice confirming. Once you have that on, set the counter hit option to random too and practice confirming that. It gets much easier in matches when you know exactly when they are pressing buttons.

Reacting is extremely difficult for that. You literally have a few frames to react to a counter hit. It's more about setting up frame traps so that chance of a counter hit is high, if they press a button then you would be guaranteed a CH so then you can take the chance or be able to react to it.

Alright, thanks. Literally didn't know you could do random CHs, that solves a lot of problems. And yeah I need to try and find some better traps, MP-MP followed by FP or whirlwind shot depending is all I'm really doing right now.

Just ran into a French rashid player who was just using his EX spinning mixer to get me into a corner and then just throwing me. Can't believe how rusty I've gotten, it actually worked.

The guy beat me and then didn't even give me a runback, how rude.

Checked his profile later and saw that he lost 2 matches in a row against another Rashid player, serves him right.

I could've gotten those points back :(

So what are you guys doing with your downtime? I'm going to hit the grid and see if I can work some stuff out and LEVELUP #RISEUP #CAPCPOM

I really hope the Rage Quiting timeouts are retro active to punish all those that have been Rqing this whole time. Is this known? Do people think this is enough of a deterrent? They should really put your Disconnect rate on your profile.

They should stick you with the title of "Quitter" for a week they peg you as an RQer

The patch notes were so vague I don't think anyone knows wtf the system will be

I have had a huge # of RQs the last few days. Some have flat out told me they are doing it while they still can. The higher your Disconnect rate is the longer your time out should be. And your Disconnect rate should NOT reset with the patch.

I'm pretty sure I ran into you a few weeks ago.

Bison, right? You destroyed me. lol

Entirely too many maintenance periods for a game in which they charged full price. And for 8 hours what the fuck.

I don't know. None of this fazes me. I just play offline. Hit the lab with Alex, or maybe mess with a new character who I would never use. Guess it's good I'm an old man who remembers the days before the intra-webs.

Speaking of Alex, I actually feel like I improved with him based off my ass-kicking at the hands of Edgeward and co. in that brief Battle Lounge, plus having a long casual session (4 hours straight, which is long for me/never happens anymore) on Tuesday. I won't ever get good by GAF elite standards, but play time definitely does help me.

The discrepancy between putting in cr.hp > Shoryu vs cr.hp > CA is so frustrating. I don't know how to reliably cr.hp>Shoryu without accidentally using CA.

There is ample time for the cancel into shoryuken, so what I do after hitting cr.hp is immediately let my stick move to neutral and then input the shoryu.

I'm on DPad I think that might be part of the issue. I try to let it go back to neutral and my inputs say the same, but CA still comes out lol. It's frustrating. Want a stick need that $$$. Appreciate the response though I'm gonna keep working at it.

Yeah I'm having trouble adjusting to the D-Pad too, like if I'm crouch blocking and someone jumps to cross me up even if I see it coming it's sometimes feels as though I'm stuck in crouch blocking in one direction for a second too late because of how I'm holding the pad I guess.

Yeah, I find on pad the natural motion isn't to lift your thumb off the DPad. I feel like one of the things to fix it would be a stick since you're not leaning so heavily on it. I'm sure inputs get kinda fucked with DS4 too since the directional input is kinda wonky and not super precise. I could be wrong though.

Oh I see.

This might help then. Try input the cr.hp as df hp, then hit df hp again, so 2x df+hp. I used to input the same combo on SF4 using pad like this and it always worked for me. I assume the shortcuts are the same.

No, just end the srk in down forward, not forward, so your complete input is:
down + hp, forward, downforward + p.

I played SFV again through the weekend on cousin's PS4 and it's simply awesome. I'm enjoying it more than Smash! I think it's more fast paced than Smash and that makes it more fun especially when you pull up special moves. I also did another little illustration on pen an ink just because. This are really fun to make!
