The rest of the trailer looks great, but whenever you see them running around town there are these cheap-looking cardboard cutout characters in the distance. Then when you get closer they just phase out of existence. It really stands out.

Pretty sure that's intentional, it's a part of the 'crowd/sheep' atmosphere-style of the larger general populace.

From an older trailer, the kids in school that aren't 'prominent' also lack distinguishing facial features/descriptions.

This makes me just laugh at the typical victory screen in the Tales games for example

I will laugh even harder if Tales of Berseria has the same typical repeated ones as well.

Going by her Persona's Arcana, she might actually be this game's Hermit S.Link if they're still in.

I think she will but I just googled the hermit social link and found out that it's already a named character (never maxed the link so I didn't find that out) in 3 who is considerably older so there's no way that's the case.

Hermit has been in all the games so far and the base set of arcana are based on actual tarot cards so I can't see them arbitrarily removing them.

It's cool that Persona 5 is doing some unique stuff with the mundane aspects of RPGs, but I wouldn't want every game to be like this. Honestly, I feel after seeing this animation after 200+ battles that I would get tired of it.

It's a graphical style that should stay unique to the Persona series.

So, one of the things I've never understood is the whole 'waifu war' thing persona had going on. Like, I get its mostly a joke but I honestly would put almost every guy above almost every girl across the series. None of the girls ever really grabbed me, and I kind of got used to just not being a huge fan of 'persona' girls.

But fuck, all the girls (and guys) shown off so far seem just fantastic. Doing away with creating appealing characters that you can sexualise and just having them be sexually charged theives from the beginning really flips my perspective of the whole thing. All these characters are unapologetically stylish and sexy from the get go and man is it more appealing than 'tomboy, girly girl, refined girl etc.', despite the fact that the formula still seems to be the same.
