Yep. DT1 was the only one that requires a PSP connection at startup. You should pick up DT2; as yyr says, it contains literally all content DT1 does and no longer had the always-connected requirement.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "used as the controller", though, since I always just used a Dualshock 3.

Wish they would have stopped talking for a second while showing off the themes, it was hard to hear what the BGM was. Sounds just like some ambient music, but couldn't tell if it was different than the default.

It's been a fair while since I last booted it up, but I feel like I remember that you could use the PSP as the controller. Either way, you needed to connect it each time which was pretty annoying.

Pre-ordered. was about to pass on buying both packs at once with all the games releasing in the next few weeks/months, but this is a great value and I'm weak.

I'm going to buy my PS4 this week, I think I'll buy from the Sony store. Turns out you can get all the plates, but I'll just go with Aqua Blue.

Should I go white or black?

And the markup for those plates on eBay are insane. Lol

The prices don't seem to differ that much between sites from what I can see, a few $ at most. Play-Asia's prices are definitely good though. I only know for sure that Nippon Yasan is more expensive.

Yeah Play-Asia took maybe 10 minutes after I validated my email. Pre-ordered and also bought Namco games with the extra 1500 yen.

Hmm am I missing something but the future tone doesnt show up in my queue list.

edit: nvm had to manually add it through my ps4, weird stuff.

X is a great game. If you're pressed for money and don't have the Miku bucks for both games, Future Tone is the way to go. But, if you enjoyed literally every other Miku game, X is a no-brainer IMO.

I've finally decided to bite the bullet and join MikuGAF in pre-ordering this. If I wait until tomorrow to do it, will I still make it in time to get the themes?

I'm so excited. So much Miku to keep me busy for days to come. And those themes are excellent. Sorry to waste a post on pointless rambling but I'm just that much into this.

I keep seeing folks suggesting Prelude goes live/is playable today, and I'm not sure where this rumour's come from. As far as I can tell the pre-load does start today (in 2/3 hours or so), but I'm pretty sure it all unlocks June 23rd JST.

Yeah, there's a bunch of misinformation about this release floating around elsewhere. The worst are the people who conflate the Project DIVA Arcade updates with this, because both bear the Future Tone label. I think it's a pretty obvious distinction; if it says Arcade (including in the abbreviation PDAFT) it doesn't apply to this release.

Anyway, reposting the countdown timer from a couple pages back:

Yeah I have seen some discussions suggesting new DLC songs coming to PS4 future tone, when I think they are just the regularly scheduled Arcade updates.

If we ever do get new songs as DLC, I would expect they would come several months after their arcade release, as Sega would still want people to go to the arcade and play first.

I left my JP account logged in and suspended while I'm at work today...I think it should start preloading before I get back?

It downloaded the themes so for a moment I thought I could use the themes right away, until I realized it's also locked along with the game.

Auto download didn't work as usual, but eventually got all the different pieces. Colorful Tone is still supposedly "waiting to install" and I don't see an option to force it, but hopefully everything will be sorted out come Wednesday.

I tried buying it from Play-Asia but my bank kept declining the sale, even when I tried going through PayPal, so I reluctantly resorted to eBay. I would have much preferred to buy it from Play-Asia, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of calling my bank.

The seller I bought the code from has 100% positive rating, so I'm sure I'll get my code. I just wish they'd be a little quicker about it. I don't want to miss those pre-order themes :p
