How come they're sad? People are just speculating and discussing stuff they're passionate about, there's nothing sad about that. The same happens in Neo and Scorpio threads but people turn a blind eye to those.
I just think that people need to look realistically at things instead of getting super hyped then being upset that the dream scenario didn't pan out.

It happens every Nintendo reveal and it will happen with Scorpio/Neo as well. Those threads are lame too but they aren't nearly as abundant. Instead they're dumb shit posts about "lol I'll wait for the NEO VERSION".

Anywho, I look forward to the NX no matter what it is, because Nintendo is the perfect PC buddy.

Totally unrelated (but who cares :p), but I finally completed Parasite Eve 2 with the best ending.
I heard terrible things about the final boss, but honestly I defeated both forms in my first try, it wasn't really hard at all (yeah, the attacks of the first form were brutal, but nothing you couldn't dodge by running away: the second form was just dumb, I remained where the game spawns you after the cutscene and I threw the hell out of my ammo and powers, when I had low energy, I used a full healing item). Maybe it's because I'm used to tank controls from Resident Evil, but I had no problems at all.
Anyway, I have a few questions:

-why when you kill the second form of the final boss it turned into Aya? Zero explanations about this, and it happens for a second, than nothing.
-why Eve is identical to Aya, only a younger version? I didn't find documents in the game if not a couple, and I don't understand why this isn't explained. Who is Eve, anyway? I think she is important, since she is in the title too.

Oh yeah, I agree. It just bothers me when the same people who complain day and night about NX threads and keep taking potshots at Nintendo don't even mention Neo and Scorpio threads, that are just as bad when it comes to a bunch of fanboys in a infinite circlejerk.

And, obviously, some of those who criticize NX threads are the first ones to make a thread once a random dude says the NX gonna suck, but I'm not gonna mention names here :X

I need to find a synonym for threads

I would feel bad because Turtle Rock is pretty cool, but they really Fell Down The BS Tree with Evolve. I really hope publishers take a hard look at this endless monetization of full-price titles. (I'm looking at you, every AAA game out there.)

I think Evolve is a much better game now than before, anyone can pick it up easily, if only they made better decisions with the game at launch.

You're talking secrets, when this is my first time playing

And again, secrets, first time playing

It's dumb dumb dumb design to give you a combat tutorial at a moment when less than 23% of all players have ever even received the free shortsword! (According to Steam achievement stats)

"Here's a combat tutorial... but you should just fucking run to next town unless you have a guide in your lap"

In the 80s, every game was Dark Souls. :p

i thought it was a bit daft at times too; ys2 is better

The recent Time Commanders news has made me want to give a Total War game a shot, but I dunno which is the best jumping off point for someone, especially someone who's never really been great at RTSes. Any suggestions? I'd probably lean towards Rome in terms of which historical era interests me, but I dunno about 2's current situation regarding performance etc.

Shogun 2 is probably the best of the more recent Total War games, with Total War: Warhammer coming a very close second. But Rome 2 has improved a lot thanks to patches. Rome wasn't patched in a day, after all.

Just bought Cold Fear on GMG for 0,99€ but can't activate the key. It's Uplay.
Uplay is telling me that the key is invalid. Is there some sort of region lock on Uplay that' maybe blocking me from activating this game in Germany?

Looking at Uplay, Cold Fear isn't even on it.

Nearing the final chapter of Contradiction. Bit stuck on the
opium plot: I want to pin Simon/James on it, but the logical combinations don't work. Simon says James used to make poppy tea, but I can't use that in his dialogue tree. He also says he can't use any other hallucinogenic drugs, but he tried the Silvia leaves before.

Key should still work, but no promise as it was in a text file entirely on it's own and I'm not positive.

There is nothing in the entire Souls series that's as bullshit as the final tower of Ys 1. Fuck this game, I'm not making the trek back down and up for like 5th+ time to get back the 2nd best armor set. Fuck that.

A couple of overlooked titles.

Bombernauts if you want a Bomberman-like multiplayer game.

Cryptark for a procedural generated shooter for constant replay of roguelike-like. Very much a early access though.

RimWorld and Factorio are great

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

So far I have played The Witness, Hyper Light Drifter and Firewatch. I did not enjoy the latter, it was simply not for me. I can highly recommend the two other titles though.

So many recommendations, nice. I'll check them out. There's some stuff in there I have never heard of, but which look really intriguing

I have a few ones but I'm only going to mention Headlander because, so far it's been one of the largest and most positive surprises of the year to me. I'm not used to Double Fine's work, the only game from them I've played it Brutal Legend which was cool but nothing stellar, but Headlander is really one of the best metroid-like games I've played recently, alongside Ori, and because it released without much fanfare I'm afraid it won't receive its due credit. I've some hours to go through yet but if it keeps the pace it'll definitely figure in my GOTY list.
