Exo upgrades don't go to Omega, right? Only Theta?

I haven't found any Omega upgrades for the suit itself, but I dunno why they wouldn't exist.

Lots of blueprints are bugged and don't show up after you unlock them, but I've also got blueprints that have identical names but take different materials.

For example, I have two separate Toxin Suppression Tau, but one of them takes what the other element Tau upgrades take to craft, while the other takes what the Theta versions take, so I imagine that one of my Toxin Suppression Taus is actually the Theta version in disguise.

I walked into a station and the dude inside wanted to inject my brain with some type of goo, I said go for it, and bam new warp drive. Not sure if the warp drive is always the reward for that, but that's how I got mine.

Damn. Regret not doing that then. I found that and I was like. Hell no.

You need to have all your shield upgrades linked for them to work right?

Also it is kinda annoying that you have to stack all your upgrades so even in a 48 slot ship 21 slots are relegated to upgrades assuming you want them all.

I've noticed that with those situations, the game wants you to "trust" the higher beings, so you usually get rewarded for decisions that go against your self preservation instincts.

I didn't realize that you could get words from the little glowing orbs on the floor around your ship in interfaces.

Also, the bootup text that scrolls by when you open a shop isn't just flavor text, but actual statistics about your playthrough.

Sentinels: Frenzied = $$$$$$ Gravitino Balls everywhere

I've been to this place too. I have to wonder if they threw in some special exceptions here and there on planets because so many people have been to a Vortex Cube cave planet, A high-alert Gravitino planet...etc. Maybe just a coincidence.

Yea, basically give them what they want and you get rewarded. They're not gonna kill you so why not.

Also, if you fuck up, just reload and try again. One thing I don't wanna mess up is my relationship with the aliens.

I wouldn't worry about it, i had the same encounter in a base on a planet and received an upgrade, plasma grenades or something, so i think that's just a random story chosen for that particular encounter.

So what do you guys feel is the best option?

Grind vortex cubes to afford the highest level ships (43+ slots at 50+ million) or go after the crashed ships and increase one at a time?

I currently have a 28 slot ship.

I'm on such a planet at the moment. It also happens to be littered with gold...
I also just found the recipe for lemmium wich only requires plutonium and titanium. With the amount of sentinels on this planet it's basically an infinite resource and plutonium is not that hard to find. It might be worth just mass producing lemmium nuggets and selling them for a nice sum when the inventory fills up... Did anyone try that?

Does it give you access to a new type of Star like the previous three upgrades or just increases your warp distance?
Just increases your distance from what I've seen. Red, Green, Blue are unlocked with the Sigma, Theta and Tau upgrades but there's also talk of Spectral Class Systems on Reddit somewhere.

Farming Vortex Cubes or Gravitino Balls. Keeps you from needing to repair and fuel up each and every ship you come across and you can make a decent amount of money fast just farming a planet. Plus, you can spread that out among systems instead of doing it all in one go.

Mine is this big empty desert, it's just me playing cat and mouse with the Sentinels and Gravino Balls. It's so much fun.

Farm for sure. Finding ships is based on luck, farming is a sure thing and it's just a matter of doing it. With dash gliding or whatever it's called, sentinels are no problem.

I hope you're wrong, I dismantle the lower level upgrades when I get a better one.

They don't have to be linked but upgrades do stack and get bonuses when they're linked.

Here's my current ship for example:

With this much shield, I can shrug off damage from 8+ enemy ships while I pick them off with the laser. Basically nothing can take me down until I hit Sentinel alert level 4.

New ship, 28 slots, and just need a few more materials for 3 warp drives (sigma, tau, and theta) should have them built by this afternoon!

Also this thing looks so fucking awesome!!

Yup!

Tier 1: Sigma Tier 2: TAU Tier 3: Theta Tier 4: Omega

YES finally some discussion on this since I'm so confused with the upgrade system

- each upgrade has 4 variations? Technically all 4 can be installed for stacked bonus? But I can't make more than one of each right?

- what are the numbers and symbols on the icons? Is it possible to have a sigma+4? Or is the number system just a quick visual that it's a tier 4?

I really wish they would allow you to transfer ship upgrades. I don't have any motivation at all to upgrade my ship when I'm just going to lose half the resources for the upgrade when I change ships. Probably the first thing in the game that really annoys me.

I guess I'll just farm 20 million in graviton balls while I work on the last extreme survival achievement and buy the first ship with a decent inventory size I see to use for the rest of the game.

I tried to 100% my first planet but I don't think it's ever possible. Planets are, well, planet sized. There's so many outposts and stuff.

But scanning all animals is doable and you should probably do it for that good cash (could be up to +200k units).

I'm over 700K now and tonnes of upgrades. I'm missing 1 "Record" but have no idea how to find those. I only stumbled across 7/8 of them. Everthing else is done. :(

So today, I continue the grind for the mats for Theta Warp Drive and then try to get to the center of galaxy.

Already did Atlas Path, not having to carry those damn Atlas Stones is amazing.

Thanks!

I'm gonna keep grinding this planet (which I named Vortex Cubes) to keep getting better ships. Seems like less work than the ship repair.

I also don't want to upgrade my ship until I have one in the 40s so that's how I'm skipping that. I don't think I will be leaving this solar system for awhile.

The Vortex Cube planet doesn't even have Sentinals that get mad when I take them.

To question 1, yes, and all can be installed for a stacked bonus but in some cases that's not worthwhile, like in the case of the exosuit upgrades that protect against specific elements. If you build both Toxin Suppression Tau and Theta, you get two extra "shields" against Toxic environments, where the Tau version drains more quickly than the Theta one.

But you can just use oxides to refill the Theta version instead, with it draining incredibly slow, so it's a waste of an exosuit slot to have the Tau version installed at the same time.

To question 2, the numbers just help indicate that Sigma is the weakest (+1) and Omega is the strongest (+4). Some upgrades don't have numbers, though, and some have equal numbers. For example, the ship shield upgrades are all only +1, but they all still stack.

I currently have a 28 slot ship.

I'd put most of my resources into my exosuit earlier on, while focusing on ships later when farming is faster with a full storage suit.

I don't know about some one of but I don't even care too much about heading for the center right away.

I want to veer off the center path and explore some of the other star systems ^_^

Honestly if you want money and don't want to go insane collecting balls or cubes just do the dupe glitch and then buy a nice ship.

There is little difference between farming those things(other than that it takes longer and is a lot more boring). Trust me I've farmed 50 mil with cortex cubes before I knew about the dupe glitch.

Grind to buy a 35 Slot Ship then find crashed Ships. Its way too much grind to stack up to 50 million unless you Live for farming.

This so much.

Also, on another note, Spotify + this game = wow.
Nice chill bass music while farming for mats/exploring is relaxing.

Someone said it earlier so well. This is the most addicting boring game ever.

Yeah my next ship purchase will be based on aesthetics. 28-30 slots with 48 more in the suit is more than enough. Plus I don't want to blow my load before we get the skinny on base building and freighter acquisition.

Yeah my suit is already at 48 slots and I've been grinding this planet a bit. It gave me enough money to max my Exo and buy a 28 slot ship for 2 million. And I still have 13 million in the bank.

So I'm gonna keep grinding and selling vortex cubes until I can buy a 40+ slot ship.

The planets you are discovering the galvatino balls, vortex cubes, and pearls, are they on the path to the center or are you free roaming?

Jesus, no. Every single upgrade piece works completely on its own, irrespective of everything else. Every single upgrade piece stacks with others of the same effect and upgrades placed next to the parent component or similar upgrade components get synergy bonuses. To get the absolutely best effects, yes, place everything even remotely related in a chain next to each other, but it is never mandatory.

Exosuit upgrades are constantly draining my credits, and I can't save up for a ship, lol. Almost done though at 43 slots.

the two guys in the space anomaly
, if I abandon the atlas path
to get into a black hole
, can I still pick up the atlas path later?

max out your suit then focus on your ship. Then when you find a planet with nice resources you can pretty much get a ton at a clip and ramp up your units

I found a planet with these balls in some sort of egg sack that has to be cracked open.

That's a new one.

They do aggro the sentinels as well.

I'm constantly being harassed by pirates who are after my precious cargo. For some reason i keep losing those dogfights. Is my ship just not strong enough or am i missing something?
