Doesn't the trailer say "Open World Exploration"?

Yeah, and that's a lie. The game is separated into empty levels that all look roughly the same, that are all pretty small and that only consist in killing waves of enemies.

I guess you can explore them if you want but there is nothing to do or see in this game, so why would you? Not to mention that the collision detection on the terrain barely works, so I hope you like phasing through rocks and walls.
At one point, I had to exit the game because an enemy spawned inside the level geometry and couldn't move, and I was unable to reach it. This game is an incompetent mess, and is by far the worst commercial game I have ever played.

Yep, people think Game Certification and quality control are the same thing.

If the game is playable and doesn't brick the system, that's enough for them.

Exactly.

Why would Steam not doing that be a defense? Steam is the easy one to get on to. It's harder to get on a console. They don't have an automated and barely moderated system to get on the platform like Steam does. MS doesn't even allow a lot of really good indie games on the platform unless they give some sort of extra content.

Ignoring the stolen assets aspect, it should have been blocked because it looks like a total turd in general.

The indie thing doesn't make sense, because that's MS parity clause and not them actively blocking indies from their platform.

Regardless of whether or not it looks like shitty game, platform holders shouldn't be the ones to decide what lives on their networks beyond the agreed upon terms. I don't want Sony to start denying some cool but janky game on the grounds that it's too "anime" or whatever.

And, once again, it would take them actively playing through thousands of games to determine some subjective rating.

But why did you play it at all

Reposting for visibility because wow.

I made a screencap of the end of the trailer every time it cut to the character walking and holy shit, it's not even trying. 8 cuts, 3 environments. But not only that, it cuts to the EXACT SAME SPOT.

Sorry for the quality of the screens. Bad quality trailer + Youtube compression.

Screen 1 and 2 are at the same spot.

Screen 3 and 4 are at the same spot, but a different one from Screen 1 and 2.

Then Screen 5 and 6 go back to the same spot as Screen 1 and 2.

Then I realized this cut is the same as Screen 1, 2, 5 and 6 just a TINY bit further, you can still see the pillar on the left.

Then the final cut before the trailer ends is at the same spot as Screens 3 and 4.

That's disgraceful. What I don't get is how they think this shit will fly and actually turn a profit, as I'd imagine there's still considerable time invested in jjust ripping off assets.

As a Scot, it's rather amusing that the country the game's set in is called 'cannae'. As in, 'you cannae shove yer granny off a bus'.

even the trophy descriptions lmao.

How many enemies did you dead during your playthroughs guys?

Come on, everyone, it's a logical progression.

Stolebrain...

Is there some technique that makes this IP theft profitable? Like, if they put little to zero effort into the game, get a bunch of sales (enough to make a profit) and then immediately comply with takedown letters from everyone whose assets they stole, do they just bank everything they made?

It's so weird that this can actually be approved.

I dropped a line to one of my contacts about this (with a link to the thread), so any other examples of stolen assets in the game people know about, please post them.

I really hope Jim makes a video about this.

This is just not ok. If the game itself uses Ori and the Blind Forest music, there's ground for a lawsuit, here. Not to mention all the other stolen assets.

With the way the dev's comments on YouTube sound, it just sounds like the dev is trolling, just seeing what they can get away with for the lulz. I mean, they've ripped assets from just about everywhere, AND managed to get a basic as fuck "game" approved to make money off of on PSN. They must be laughing... That is until shit comes back to bite them in the ass big time... which I hope it does. But just the whole state of it is a complete joke.

Anybody can identify the music in the launch trailer? I'd bet it's stolen, too.

Well the part with the lightning studios presents reminded me of the first 5 seconds of this song from Sin & Punishment 2 heh. Can't recognize the music during the gameplay through, but yeah I wouldn't be surprise if it is from something else.

I'm legitimately sad now. Not for this game, but for JP developers. I think some Japanese games today look the same as this one graphically (maybe it's because this game steals some good quality assets).
