In for Ni-Oh, Toukiden 2 and Berserk assuming they turn out to be decent.
Koei Tecmo must have good distribution channels with the amount of niche games they manage to get over to the west consistently.
I love you KT.
Now Blue Reflection!
I hope that's not a bad sign, especially since BR was announced alongside NoA in Japan. But BR seems to be somewhat early in development (it doesn't have any kind of release timeframe) while NoA was immediately given a specific date, so that may be the reason for the lack of an announcement. Hopefully it comes over as well since it looks really good
Newest spinoff Sanada game wasn't all that good, so it's probably best they don't drop that one on us.
While true, it still doesn't excuse why they haven't done a thing with 4-Sumeragi, which actually IS a solid release (and has more content).
But what are ya going to do...
Source? I'd have to dig, but I know Chin (EU KTE community manager) said Vita physical version of Kiwami sold poorly.
It says here:
No source, I was saying this based on PSN ratings, which Vita had more of. But now it seems PS4 had kinda destroyed Vita version since then.
My fears are back on, there might be a chance that Vita versions of those games won't make it here. Wonder which ones will come which ones won't.
Seems to work decent enough for them.
It's not like you miss a lot if you skip 1-2 games.
Ni-Oh is almost definitely a buy.
Also, I never realized that Toukiden 2 is the first open-world hunting game ever. Hopefully it's successful enough to push Monster Hunter further in that direction.

Koei Tecmo stays winning. Easily the top Japanese publisher this generation (so far).
Hoping for a western miracle then.
It did okay in Japan (100k in the first week), and I think it'll get solid sales in the West if it comes to PC.
Speaking of which, why the hell hasn't Capcom ported any Monster Hunter games to PC yet?
They lost so much audience from the first game to pursue a platform where that audience doesn't exist.
What do you mean? Isn't Toukiden 2 on Vita as well?
Yes, and the Vita version of the game is awful. No one got fooled by it, so whatever audience K-T gained on the PS4 was obliterated by how much they lost on Vita.

That's more like the technical burden of going open world. Even on PS4, models look clearly worse than in Kiwami. It is, but the issue is that K-T made the game for PS4 and then downported it to Vita (where most of the fanbase was/is) so it ended up looking like a psp game.
I wonder if they were hoping to increase their western sales with the PS4 version. Probably unlikely. The name alone is going to limit sales outside of the niche that already buys Japanese games.

And judging by the reception to the port of the first game on PC, that audience is going to be understandably wary this second go-round.
I'm glad that it is coming over in spite of how poorly it's done in Japan, but they are in a tough spot in terms of continuing the franchise.
Kind of hard to even appeal to the MH audience when you refuse to support the platform they're on.But if the goal is to chase that Monster Hunter money by appealing to the same audience MH dominates, an audience that already has their ideal game and doesn't desire any changesto the formula... then they're doomed to fail.
Eh, then it has the same issue that every other mismanaged Japanese IP does: Too much of a focus on domestic sales to a limited consumer base.
You'd think that, after the Souls franchise blew up, Japanese devs would have learned the value of a strong focus on international releases. Bringing moderately successful games to PC, like God Eater and Dragon's Dogma, is also a huge boon to sales.

God Eater 2 Rage Burst: 37,168 ± 4,988Also I'm not sure how God Eater has done tremendously well on Steam but I'm on mobile and can't check Steamspy right now.

Well, compared to the other games mentioned:That's decent-ish I guess.
They ported DOA5 which did okay-ish despite some issues, and Yaiba also got a PC port. Skipped DOAX3 and Hyrule Warriors for obvious reasons though. I'd say a (good) PC port would be smart for Nioh given the market for similar games on the platform like Dark Souls and Dragon's Dogma. When you see a game by team Ninja don't look too much for a PC version, they don't like doing the pc port business.
