Its a 55 inch tv
Ive had several friends in my house and ive showed the "4k fireplace" from netflix to all of em. We all laughed at how stupid it was, but no one said anything about picture quality. Also netflix has some nature shows that are just 4k showcases. Ive showed em to several friends and family. No one was inpressed

Not even me.

Maybe it just dosent work with stremed content
Or maybe 4k aint something that special

Or maybe the resolution of Netflix streams depends on the strength of your connection, and you and your family members were staring at 1080p or lower on a 4K screen.

Or maybe you're making some of this up, because there are dozens of side-by-side comparisons between 4K and 1080p visuals and the difference isn't minute - even to untrained eye.

It's the difference between 800x600 and 1920x1080. Literally a mid-range monitor from 1999 and the soon to expire standard bearer for HDTV.

If it was real it wouldn't be called NX on Amazon, but the real name of the console. Preorders mean that we know the console, but we don't.

According to Twitter, Amazon posted this this morning for a split scond and someone from France managed to to print-screen it : ) Now if it is true or fake can't say.

If it was real, someone would have clicked the link to the Amazon pre-order page and taken a screenshot of that as well. You're not going to take a screenshot of the twitter link and not click through.

Nice try, but there are flaws with this fake. The orange color on the link is slightly off, and also Amazon shortens their links on Twitter to "amzn.to/[insert stuff here]". Then there's of course that there's no way this thing is being called "NX", so there's no way there will be a launch date and details of a "launch bundle" without a final name too. Also, poor grammar.

Which Amazon is that? Is says "suivre" in the corner. Not sure how Amazon works.
It's supposed to be the general amazon twitter page seen from french twitter. It's obviously fake because there's no way that the console is going to be called "NX", so if that was a real, deleted tweet about the preorder and launch date of the new Nintendo console that went up too soon, it would have had the real name of the console in it, not the codename.

What if the code Name is the real name?

Theres a function called "info" the netflix app on any smart tv that gives you the current show resolution. It fluctuates based on your connection. So anyone can see exactly when the streaming is 4k or not

But you are right, you got me. I go around the internet denying 4k in foruns and social media. Thats my mission in life. Im a super villain against the magical wonders of 4k.

I sense that the NX could be revealed at any day whether special or not. I'd prefer it to be shown off at an event. A big reveal would be the smart way to go. Nintendo is already doing a poor job since we only have 5 months left to buy the thing. I have no idea how much money to save or whether it's a good idea to buy a PSVR and Pro instead. If the device is mobile, then congrats, you walked on Apple's stage, gave them publicity, then gave them tons of room to sell the Iphone. No one has a reason to buy an NX now because they already dropped too much on a $500 watch and a $100 monthly plan on a phone.

Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.

You're making a rudimentary mistake assuming the ratio of resolutions is all that matters, whereas in reality human vision is the major limiting factor, and the limit is inherently angular (~28 arc-seconds for healthy humans).

Just jumping into this thread blind; sorry, but is Nintendo set to make any presentations at any events in the near future where we might learn more about the NX? This wait & speculation are dragging out and the console is set to release in 6 months! Isn't this unprecedented?

They have no presentations set for any event as far as we know. We're all in the dark until they decide to finally talk.

Makes me wonder if Nintendo even cares about the NX or consoles if they keep dragging this out for so long

How do you come to this conclusion? Isn't it important that they get it right? It's their next gen system for their future video games.

No, 6 months is pretty normal. The DS was revealed 4 months before launch. Reveal in the near future is likely.

The XB1 was revealed 21/05/13 and released 22/11/13. This gave it 6 months 1 day to market. One could argue that the Xbox 720 rumours were much more widespread and known to the general consumer, and Nintendo does not have the same mindshare for dedicated devices like Sony and MSFT, but the industry has been moving towards shorter cycles to keep up interest and engagement before release.

Some of the DS details were officially known before the main E3 announcement (Jan 2004) such as form factor and specs.

I don't think they were implying that. When HD streams on cable it's almost never full quality.

Hm, the physics are nothing we never saw before. What is different from other games is the fact that they use a lot of different physics in an open world game.
But it is clearly not the most impressive thing...look at Days Gone. Absolutly amazing.

I beg to differ, yes there are many games that have impressive physics to a point but most are scripted and limited in what they allow you to do. You can tell that Nintendo themselves were surprised to see how people were going about using things to their advantage simply because there are no limitations on what you can do.

The details alone in the collision system or the fact that you can use an enemies weapon to take out another enemy is something most next-gen games skip over!

Days Gone really isn't doing anything that TLoU didn't do, it just looks pretty. Games are still to scripted and Ai is just appalling and haven't grown much this generation.

Now I want to see more BotW...come on Nintendo just say something next week about NX. If you're reading this Nintendo just give me a sign.

Well, they still need to reveal Metroid GO for Android and Donkey Kong Temple Run for Symbian OS, then they might talk about the NX.

Also, unless one's position is "somebody done goofed and they deleted the tweet," wouldn't your first instinct be to simply actually go to Amazon's Twitter feed and see if they can find that Tweet? This type of fact-checking is pretty low effort. I mean, I know it's convenient to embed screenshots of tweets sometimes, but the only source of a Tweet being a screenshot is an immediate red flag.

Jose could also just be vacationing in Tokyo you know...

EDIT: Actually considering he says he's vacationing after TGS that seems to be the (obvious) case.
