Waypoint Thread: Vice City Stories

That's not even the best Lian-Li vehicle-based case.

It can even be set up to run along a fucking section of train track.

Just have the thing circle you as you play.

I was hoping for a sequel hook of
a slow pan over the rubble, and the tail fin of the helltrout flopping up
.

If I was at all competent as an artist I'd draw some Waypoint Dungeon World as Overwatch characters fanart.

I mean, Dag-Roadhog is obvious, and I'm sure the rest would slot in easily too. Gozier-Zarya?

Anyway, yeah, they need to do that at least semi-regularly.

Mario Ultimate Ninja Storm was running on fumes even before they revealed that Waluigi was just a henchman of the Dark Queen. The Mario vs. Mr. L fight to close out the arc was pretty neat though.

I haven't had a lot of time to watch the stream this weekend, but every time I've tuned in it's been super chill. I should be able to watch the rest of the stream since I'm working home today.

Closing out with a Marvel segment sure is a curveball. I guess it's great that they're all passionate, even if it really isn't my thing.

What a great weekend stream. Was able to catch 5-6 hours or so over the course of the run. Very impressed Waypoint.

Oh. And give Just Blaze a job. You know he'd do it.

Somebody asked about their future video/streaming plans at some point this weekend between here and the two GB community threads. Danika just said in chat that they plan on streaming 4 days a week.

Mods are on point. Insane that they are having a political discussion while playing tetris on twitch, with over 3000 viewers, and their chat is still super good.

This whole thing has been fantastic. Nice that they're going to be streaming so frequently.

Edit:
(Joel flashes a double peace sign)
Joel: What does this stand for?
Austin: Kill em all

Stream was a great way to kickstart a community around the site and the core people. Lots of people coming through chat who ended up with a connection to the "brand". Hopefully we'll get regular video content.

Wait, did they flash a copyright line for the game they were streaming for anything besides Tetris?

Considering the regional blocking, brand scrubbing, and stuff like this, it seems like the video content is being made to be released in more spots than just the site.

What venues does Vice put stuff out on? I know they have stuff on HBO and MTV. This doesn't seem like a good fit for HBO, maybe some of this stuff will ship out to MTV or elsewhere? Just speculation, but crazy to think about.

I hope for a best of, or a detailed rundown timestamp list of the things on the stream. I could not watch it live sadly.

They started their own TV channel called Viceland this year and they're still building that up.

You probably just heard this but they have a TV network, Viceland. That's where Desus and Mero's show is broadcast.

▲ Bingo. That is where my money is then. Has been a hell of a year for Austin Walker.

edit: checked Viceland's schedule for the next week. Didn't see any Waypoint slots, but I can see this stuff being easily slotted in. Looks likely that is the plan.

I only caught a small bit of it but it really was a fantastic stream. I hope they put the archives up so I can watch the rest of it.

Oh no, I meant "did any OTHER games get copyright lines?" It just seemed weird that only Tetris seemed to get one, but I wasn't paying attention the whole time obviously.

They mentioned they were keeping a local archive, and I think that'll be hosted somewhere!

Also: BAZINGA? Waypoint is dead to me now.

(great job everyone! look forward to next week's 73 games in 73 hours!)

bazinga was one of the proposed website names they got from some other team within vice. don't worry they don't mean it

Austin was the real MVP during that. They all put in work, but he hardly ever let the fatigue stop him trying to encourage conversation and engage others.
