These rumors are weird as hell.

This is going to be announced after Capcom Cup, so we know Capcom is involved.

It's a PS4 event so we know Sony is involved.

If it's Marvel 4 then duh Marvel is involved.

Now I am hearing Iron Galaxy, Team Ninja or some other studio is involved.

This sounds like a clustercuck with this many companies involved. Sounds too crazy to be real.

Only reason Iron Galaxy is brought up is adam, john vincacci's great relations they had with their previous companies and deals they had some small or big part of before they departed from their parent company. But like I said they could be making a marvel fighting game straight up just partnering with Marvel/Disney. I was just connected dots with Adam who I think helped facilitate a deal with Street fighter v, and used their Third PArty publishing for porting street fighter IV to PS4.

If I'm off the mark and have incorrect info please somone chime in.

All I can say is that if it's PS4/PC exclusive, I'm done with Capcom (and Sony to an extent).

That said, I really want this game to happen.

That sorta makes sense, but... Akuma being the very first character revealed for MvC4 would be weird, imo.

Well, you could sort of argue it makes sense from a historical standpoint...kind of.

The thing is, Akuma was actually the very first Capcom character to go against Marvel characters in a fighting game: he was a secret character in X-Men Children of the Atoms. I think this is the reason why he was included in MVC3 to begin with.

I mean new kof is ps4 exclusive, sfv is ps4 exclusive, and this game will be shown off at psx hmmm....one can only speculate..

Not to derail but has King of fighters done well? I hear great things about the game and want to get it. Was hoping it sparked interest in that series again.

Ehhhhhh I think that Akuma teaser looked way too much like SFV for it to have been for anything else. I don't know how literally to take the "betraying our expectations" comment but I don't think the fourth Marvel vs. Capcom game is going to look like that.

When the company only had $152 million in the bank, Sony came to their rescue to keep Street Fighter going, and also investing in Resident Evil 7 for PSVR. If this is your attitude towards a console manufacturer and games developer helping out another, then you should probably stop playing video games.

I'd explode with hype, but not sure about the characters and how their licenses are gonna play out honestly. Niitsuma and some members of the staff (Capcom PR as well) have been quite vocal about the state of the franchise and Marvel's legal issues with their characters and FOX's license which extends to interactive entertainment as well.

In a perfect world, we'd get a full fledged MvC4 and a UMvC4 2/3 years down with FOX just taking a cut from overall revenue (after platform & distribution margins), but it's a far fetched idea.

Their division's (Marvel Games') revamped strategy for console games started with Spider-Man and they're gonna continue with all their IP's moving forward ( said "stay tuned" about different console partners). So, there's that I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You call it "helping out one another", I call it "anti-consumer exclusivity and releasing an unfinished game that was only catered to the hardcore and tournament scene."

Either way, turned out well, no?

If this ends up being a PlayStation exclusive then that's a sure sign that Marvel and Disney isn't interested in other platforms, which would be a bummer.

What if were connecting too many dots here, and the akuma teaser was for him in 5, but marvel 4 is going to be announced unrelated to that?

Gotta keep that marvel fire stoked

I just hope we get a PC port this time. I'm still not sure how none of the other games have made it to steam alongside the console releases.

Well to be honest I think they will be testing waters with Spiderman game, and whatever game they have next if it is or isn't made by Iron Galaxy or whoever.

Disney Infinity was Disney/Marvel and didn't pan out. So we will have to see to be honest.

We'll see how RE7 performs on PSVR and see how it turned out then. SFV being unfinished at launch has nothing to do with Sony and everything to do with Capcom. They've since rectified it with a full fledged story mode and constant updates.

And yes, it was rushed out in time for the tournament season, but you can't blame them for that when SFIV was tired and old at that point (8 years) and tons of "free" marketing comes out of Twitch streams and YouTube VODs of tournament matches. The game was fit for tournament play, so they put it out. What they should've done was kept it in beta without a retail release, and then turned the beta off and sold the game when it was ready w/ the story mode and a few extra characters. They didn't do that, and I'm agreeing with you that the game wasn't finished, but don't blame Sony for that.

It's a bummer for Xbox owners (Switch remains to be seen in terms of what kinds of licenses/ports it will get), but with PS4 looking to surpass 50 million units sold through customers by the end of the year, it's easy to see why. Microsoft isn't even reporting Xbone sales anymore. Sony has the money and is making smart moves.

EDIT: I'll also add that I doubt the deal was for 1 game. More likely 2-3.

I mean, put a few Sony characters in the game or something, but cutting off the Xbox user base, ESPECIALLY with how shit Street Fighter V's release was handled, would be like no lessons were learned from the previous partnership.

Probably the rumor comes from capcom revealing a new VERSUS game and since EVERYONE wants marvel 4 than it became that.

Capcom vs SNK 3 and even Capcom vs Nintendo have more chance than that =P

Not to mention that they said it would be playable.

So nor only is Marvel 4 getting announced but it's also going to be playable at PSX?

Nah son I don't really buy that.

And now for the games! We’re currently looking at well over 100 playable games at PlayStation Experience this year (though for the discerning eye, you’ll only see 96 on this list). Again, these are only the games we’re allowed to talk about for now. Plenty more to be revealed in Anaheim!
