Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon Fastest-Selling Nintendo Game in Americas

Much like in Europe, it dominates...

After becoming the most pre-ordered video games in Nintendo history, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon – the latest games in the wildly popular Pokémon franchise – have now become the fastest-selling games that Nintendo has ever launched in the Americas. In less than two weeks, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems sold a combined total of 3.7 million units. That’s an 85 percent increase over Pokémon X and Pokémon Y – the previous record holders for Nintendo’s fastest-selling games – during the same period when those games launched in 2013.

nice to see the west compensating for japan's decline.

SM might outsell XY overall just because of that.

I don't believe it, all the Pokemon fans switched to mobile, the traditional games are gonna die off.

Also, well deserved increase over X and Y!

Fuck you Tierno.

Nintendo shipped 10 million units day 1.

Between Europe, the Americas and Japan they've already sold 7.5 million to customers, not counting the rest of Asia, including the first localization in Chinese.

Nice to have a specific number sold. Has already sold a large amount of that 10 million initial shipment based on the figures we've gotten for the US, Japan and Europe.

First pokemon game I've played since silver. They've made a lot of smart changes since then, as it turns out.

Pokemons longevity as a series is fucking astounding. There's few other series aside from massive ones like Star Wars or Marvel/DC that can stand the test of time for so long and retain worldwide popularity.

makes me wonder two things about pokemon's performance next year:

-will there be any major spikes in Go's performance (gameplay changes, new pokemon), since that has shown benefits for the regular games' sales

- how will stars do? it's been so long since we got a regular old third version.
