Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

... Okay, so yo. I still want Missingno to be added as a late Ultra Beast in Stars, especially if
we go to Kanto
, but I'm willing to accept this as canon. I can't get Ridley in Smash 1 of the 3 Freddie Mercury-esque Street Fighters in V (Let alone the trifecta), but at least this can give me the comfortable feeling that one of my weird game wishes came true (Missingno being a legit Pokemon).

If we're talking fan theories, missingo and other glitch pokemon are probably ultra beasts, because there's far too many of them to have a connection to a single pokemon.

I also love the idea of missingno as an ultra beast.

God alternate timelines, ultra beasts, shit when did pokemon get this awesome? Gen 8 to take place in a post apocalypse world similar to Gurren Lagann and only us who believes in our pokemon who believes in us can survive!

Where did you get that Mimikyu hates Pikachu? I thought he was a fan. And I think he hides his true form because he's horrible and people get scared when looking at him.

The anime. Meowth explicitly states the only reason Mimikyu wants to help team rocket is to fight pikachu and that it dons a pikachu mask not only for its popularity but for its intense hatred of it, as if it had some sort of vendetta to settle. Mimikyu is pretty terrifying in the anime, it constantly whispers to meowth things that meowth refuses to repeat back to Jessie & James.

That Mimikyu is the exception, not the rule. Mimikyu hasn't been portrayed like that anywhere except the anime.

Then why is their first instinct to attack trainers?

I mean from their perspective, you're probably an intruder.

Whoops my bad. Should have mentioned to use taunt and put it to sleep or something.

Oh, Taunt could have worked aswell, didn't think on that.

That's how I did it.
I had a Grimer with Disable/Memento/Protect/Knock Off, Pangoro with False Swipe and a Shiinotic for Spore.

-Started with Grimer used Protect to let the Smeargle Sketch it then switched to Pangoro for False Swipe.

-After that it's back to Grimer, used Adrenaline orbs every turn to make the Protect fail so it would work on the turn I wanted to use Memento.

-As soon as a male Smeargle appeared I used Memento on the Protect Smeargle, the other one Sketched it.

-The turn after Grimer used Protect so the Memento coming from Smeargle failed, then I proceeded to Disable it.

-Switched to Shiinotic, Spore on the Smeargle I wanted to catch while the other struggled itself.
And after that it was capture time.

Took a while but it was interesting I guess, felt like a puzzle game challenge.

I've jumped from G/S/C right into Omega Ruby (1st nintendo handheld I own since GBC), skipped X/Y and got Moon this monday. I'm loving it!!

Still have too much to play, just got Tauros. But it seems to me they've cut a lot of mechanical crap that interfered a faster and more natural proggress in OR.

Now you can choose to use a pokemon in your party right after you catch it, you can use PC with a single button press (no longer "professor PC or someone's else PC?", "organize or whatever?"), you don't need HM's and the action behind the poke ride is much faster (ie: you don't need to select pokemon > move > rock smash > watch the animation > rock smashes > repeat), it doesn't keep asking if you're sure you don't want the pokemon to learn a new move, you can check effectiveness right in the battle, you can check the other pokemon effectiveness before switching, and so on...

Besides the quite excessive cut-scenes, it seems the progress is much faster and less interrupted.

I'm a bit disappointed they got rid of Super Training and didn't add anything to reset your EV's and neither to check their exact number. But it seems to me that overall this game is a HUGE improvement, at least compared to Omega Ruby.

Thinking about it, it would be pretty funny if the D/P/Pt remakes end up being on a single screen after they were the first gen to have dual screens.

i would be dreading the return to single screen so much if i was getting the switch but i hate the controller so much that ill never have to worry about that.

You're only fishing at the bubbling spots right? I can't imagine how long it would take finding on at a non-bubbling spot.

I did that for a while at the one spot next to Fini's ruins since it seems to always be up after zoning in, but after about 30 casts I just started moving around to keep my brain from shutting down.

I just SR the game every time I fished up something that wasn't a Sharpedo. You're right that it's mind numbing but if the Sharpedo encounter rates are anything like the other rare fishing encounter rates, it'll be ~1% for non-bubbling spots, meaning you might as well not even try.

It's weird that Carvanah isn't even in the game outside of breeding (at least, I don't think it is).

Even with those 1% odds I managed to bump into Corsola twice... I guess I just got lucky.

Sooo some items like Weakness Policy and Red Card just disappear forever after being used once in a non-online, non-BattleTree / non-BattleRoyale battle?

What possible purpose is there even for that?

These things cost 32+ BP ya know and I already lost my free Red Card on accident. Not really clearly marked in most descriptions either. :/

Because the grind is real.

So I just found my first shiny in like seven years: Alolan Dugtrio.
I also knocked out my millionth Alolan Dugtrio.

For context: I had a team of low level Pokemon I'm trying to evolve, and a chaperone Feraliagtr. Turns out Feraligatr oneshots everything even when I'm using ineffective attacks.

Rip in peace, Clownshoes the Dugtrio.

that's a special snowflake mimikyu

Got a Modest Magearna on my first attempt. I just wanna say that I'm taking back all the bad things I said about EV Training at Poke Pelago, because that thing is a godsend. Magearna is already almost done with HP, and S.Attack was already done a few days ago.

Nice. BTW, you can use a Synchronize Pokemon if you've got one for 100% Nature.

Can anyone clarify pokerus? It seems the Pokémon in my party aren't infected any longer and don't seem to be catching it again. Are they now immune to it? How did it go away?

PKRS lasts for 24 real-time hours (or until the next day starts, I forget which), and then it can't be spread anymore. The effects never go away, however. The time limit is usually mitigated by keeping a Pokemon that has it in your PC, that way the time can never run out and you can spread it when necessary.

They still have its effects, but they can't spread it any more. It happens naturally after a few days if the Pokémon is in your party. To avoid it, keep a Pokémon with it in the PC and only take it out to spread it to others.

The Trubbish shenanigans continue; over the past few days, I have received:

Jolly Pheromosa
Bashful Pheromosa
Timid Tapu Lele
Sassy Lunala
Mild Nihilego

A quick glance at the IVs, Poké Ball and location/level info suggests they're legit too. I don't understand what this demandis about, but my Living Dex appreciates it.

They're not cured, but they're no longer contagious. At midnight any infected Pokémon that are in your party will stop spreading Pokérus.

I only just realized that Disable has been 100% accuracy for years now.

That's really dumb.
So I realized I'm training a male Salandit. He's level 30.

One of the worst aspects of playing blind. Thank god I checked it out though.

Malendit claims another victim, thank god I'm not alone.

God Dammit. I faced Tapu Koko after game and killed it. I could have reset the game but I didn't want to face the champion again. I'll just have to beat the E4 and champion again another time to get another crack at it.

If this is your first time fighting it you can instantly fight it again without going through the E4 postgame.
