Same person who said KHIII would feature worlds based on Wreck-it-Ralph, Frozen, and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.

Nope, he said that there were conceptual work done with those properties for KH3. His words were mistranslated. There has been conceptual work done with other Disney properties done in the past that didn't make it into the KH games, so there's no indication that those 3 will make it into the game, even though I expect Ralph and Frozen to show up.

And we do have evidence that those three were considered: Woody and Buzz had model in KH2 and WiR and Frozen were from the cancelled mobile game.

March 2018 putting aside delays sounds about right to me.

I'm still sad about that mobile game, not so much the game itself because in concept it was similar to chi but the world choices were extremely interesting. Tron Uprising and Star Wars The Clone Wars are some of my favorite TV shows. (and The Clone Wars isn't what you'd expect a KH game to go for as first choice for a Star Wars world)

If the game is releasing in March and it's only playable in August then I don't believe it. Square never lets a big AAA game release without being playable at E3 at least once.

For the wording, I think it means getting the game finished in August so testing and stuff can start, not actually making the game playable for the public.

Oh okay, that's better then. I believe in a March 2018, E3 will reveal to us if this is true or not =p
E3:2017 kh3 trailer:

Some cutscenes of Sora talking on mount Olympus some more gameplay on mount Olympus. We'll all get hyped until we realize it's only the first world and we didn't even get to see tangled or big hero 6 or anything new

Trailer ends:Now in development

Nomura:plz be excited

Please no!!!!!!!!!!!. However, if the game is not playble at this year's E3 then I don't believe in a March 2018 release date, probably after E3 2018 if this is the case =(

buzz lightyear might be in the game since we did see his ride in a trailer

I just heard rumours from a VERY solid source that Nomura has got a permission to use a certain popular Disney IP in KH3.

Is it something from Pixar? Frozen? Or something completely else? You guys just have to wait and find out. ;)

Also the development has had some problems but should be pretty steady now. Apparently Nomura wants to give more information on how the development is progressing this year. He is planning for something big for around the time KH concerts and E3 arrive but they could delay it for later.

Also Nomura is very excited that the game is able to feature Trophies and is very keen to mention this fact in future interviews.

Pls follow me on twitter and facebook (or don't, I don't REALLY care! But seriously doe hit the subscribe butons.) for more informations and pls don't make threads on GAF for my high quality leaks.

Obviously lie. Disney asks him if he's interested in putting stuff in, not the other way around. Nomura has carte blanche.

Correction: Disney tells him to include playable ads for some of their more recent releases or upcoming attractions, he's forced to oblige.

I mean, anything involving Kingdom Hearts is probably a rights nightmare already - especially given that Funko Pop basically takes likenesses and alters them to push its own brand consistency rather than that of whatever it's licensing.

Yeah, Disney owns the characters but I think Nomura / Square might own the designs. He's a perfectionist and a character designer so I'm not sure how well it'd go if he let someone else redesign his characters in the Funko form. It's easy enough to imagine but like you said, it'd be a nightmare to get it all sorted.

Disney owns all of it.

That being said, I'm real curious if Hikaru got the rights to her song for KH3 this time.

Disney owns all of it.
Then it makes less sense for Sora, Riku, and Kairi to not get Funko pops. With Nomura being a perfectionist and protective of his designs (IIRC he designed Sora's WoFF as well despite Yasuhisa Izumisaw designing the other Chibi's*, and had to take it to Disney for approval), I could see issues there, but if he has no say because it's all Disney then I find myself joining the side of confusion at this whole ordeal. Of course, they could just want to release Disney characters from the series but it's odd for the main original characters to not get representation at the start.

*just checked, both of them are credited on Sora's PSN page but IDK if it's just a blanket copyright for the entire game or just Sora

Because Disney doesn't care.

If Disney really cared they would just give the IP to a developer who can actually get games released :3

My guess is that the only reason it's getting any additional attention at all is because Disney Infinity ceased production. From what I remember of the last Disney Interactive panel, Kingdom Hearts and Star Wars are the only major things that they have going on in the video games department. Well, the only non-directly Disney things, anyway.

With the push that KH is getting this year I'm hoping that they'll take a little more interest in the merchandising side of things. They already have the multiple Disney trading pins. I'll probably end up finding the Kingdom Hearts Pop Vinyl figures in their D Street store in Downtown Disney next to the Finding Nemo Pops. I don't think I've ever actually seen them sell the other Pops in the park outside of the Indiana Jones one and maybe some Star Wars ones in Tomorrowland.

Well, false since they've now stepped up to help out with Kingdom Hearts but ok.

"Stepping up to help" is not the same as actually caring. Disney still sees Kingdom Hearts as an IP they own but aren't all that involved with. The one director they sent to help with KH3 is nowhere near the same as what they do with Star Wars or Marvel.

They had virtually nothing until Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite was announced, and the Square Enix ones what, 2 weeks ago? None of the major games that they've announced for Marvel really even have gameplay yet so I can't count them. Kingdom Hearts has had several mainline releases and Star Wars had Battlefront and a very addicting arcade pod.

Spider-Man is coming too.

He's the producer of Big Hero 6 and Tangled (and co-produced Hunchback of Notre Dame), he's not the director. And he's just the one we know about, there could be other people working in Disney who were required to communicate with Square Enix.

Alongside that, Disney makes suggestions for properties to be used, and they have final say as well. They are the ones who also plan when Kingdom Hearts content is shown at exhibitions (Nomura revealed this in an interview saying he met with Disney to discuss what will be revealed after Tangled).

I don't really like to use the term "caring" when talking about big business, but I do think them having talent work with Nomura, making suggestions and planning when they will announce content, is a clear sign that they are involved with production now.

I mean, look at the push they give literally anything else they're involved with. I get a lot (A LOT) of Disney emails and newsletters and they trip the fuck over themselves to promote anything coming down the pipe. Marvel emails, Star Wars emails, game and app release emails. They didn't even mention 2.8's release. They really don't care about Kingdom Hearts.

Sorry.

Sort of related, sort of not but I do wonder what the original DDD ending was that Disney ended up rejecting. (because it was too grim if I recall correctly or something along those lines)

That's fair enough, but it's not like Square gave 2.8 a decent push either.

On another note, they included 2.5 ReMIX in a Disney email update a few years ago, shortly after the game came out. I'm with Disney Australia but they did give that a push.

Hey guys I have a question relating to Birth By Sleep which I've wondered about for a while but never really got around to asking.
I've seen around that a pretty big theory is that Eraqus placed his heart within Terra before he died. Now I know there's the scene at the discussion between Xehanort and Terra within Xehanort at the end of BBS and Xehanort calls Eraqus a "sly fox" regarding Terra's heart and will to fight back and somehow take back his body, but I don't think that's that big of a suggestion that what he meant is Eraqus' heart is within Terra, that could easily just mean that Eraqus had a big enough effect on Terra to help him try and oppose the temptation of the darkness better. But I've seen on lots of places that this isn't just a theory but practically canon according to most people. Is there more clarification in the Japanese dialogue or something else to suggest this further?

Avenging Eraqus's death was among Terra's primary motives for defeating Xehanort during the events in the Keyblade Graveyard. However, after Xehanort uses Terra's body as the first of his vessels, he learns that Eraqus entered Terra's heart and thus gave him the means to resist Xehanort.

The scene is done in a way to mirror Kairi placing her heart in Sora.

Man, I disliked DDD the first time around and even then I don't remember it being this much of a slog to unlock all of your passive abilities.
