I would love for Sanji to appear at the wedding like everything is normal, but when Pudding shoots him the bullet bounces off and it's revealed to be Luffy disguised with Sanji's healing mask.

I don't know if that's how it works, but I think that would be a cool moment.

Remember how Brulee can turn animals into exact replicas of other people?

*hint hint*

Guys

After jinbei we obviously need a dentist crewmate now to fix Luffy's tooth

Let the speculation begin

Just get some milk from Brook.

It was only speculation, but I'm glad to see Oda went full-in on the parallels between Sora and Luffy.

You can tell that Sanji was losing his composure when Luffy said that ruined meal was delicious.

I'm confused at why people are surprised at Sanji. It's fucking family still. It doesn't matter. This is like the entire thing about one piece. Zeff is family, because he's important to Sanji. Even though Sanji does not like his family, they still family and Luffy is basically Vin Diseal from FnF. Running out on a situation like this would completely ignore like 90% of the arcs prior.

There isn't really precedent for this in One Piece, i just realized. Blood family hasn't been used that much and the only time we've had someone who had blood relatives who were total shitheels was Sabo, who was portrayed as justified in running away from home. Never has there otherwise been a purely antagonistic relationship between blood relations before (given Garp's inability to fight Luffy wholeheartedly).

Nor is it out of the picture for a Big Mom defeat... we're on 20 years and Luffy has already taken down the Shichibukai. He's gone through 3(Including the strongest, outside maybe Mihawk who is reserved for Zorro). The rest are either Allies, pretenders, or fillers.

In terms of Government officials, we're at the coat tail of them too. He's got his Admiral revenge match, but largely outside of the top brass. There aren't any higher ups there either. Unless they want to drag out new ones.

We're at the point were an Emperor is needed and Big Mom is the most likely target, since she is at the bottom of the barrel for them. Luffy and Shanks ain't meeting, Blackbeard is end game. And Kaido is after Luffy. Big Mom makes the most sense. Nor will it be another 1v1... just like most battles. Most likely it's going to be another massive battle with Luffy getting the final shot.

If he beats her, he takes her place, which would also put him in the position to challenge Kaido. Where is not-allies, but allies could come out for the fight.

Eh don't you literally mean Kaido is makes the most sense since they're actively preparing for an all out war against him and this arc is part of that war effort.

I still don't see it. I mean Luffy struggled with Nami to take out one of Big Mom's sweet commanders and he wasn't even the strongest one!

What I see happening at the wedding is pure chaos. Sanji exposes Pudding, Capone shows up as a traitor, the Vinsmokes realize what's going on and turn on everyone, the bomb goes off near the cake and Big Mom goes into a frenzy. Everyone then has to escape the island while Big Mom's impossible to sate sweet tooth destroys everything harming her empire and driving her to make the Straw Hats her number one target.

Any chance Dragon will appear at the World Leaders meeting in the Reverie?

mark my words, the entire Reverie arc is going to be about the Revolutionaries fucking shit up. Why else would Dragon call the leaders of the RA together at this time, what other reason would there have been for nobody to be present at Baltigo when Blackbeard sacked the place... besides that the Revolutionary Army is about to engage in an operation of massive scale? I've always wanted Dragon to end up being an antagonist, and that can happen if Dragon and his ideology ends up putting Luffy's friends at risk (and Luffy's got lots of friends at the Reverie this year)

I imagine they can't because their would be so much security.

And I'm sure that a major element of that security, will be one particularly powerful DF-endowed pacifista, who has hidden ties to the Revolutionary Army. A pacifista whose power and speed would enable him to send a person (or an entire room of people...) halfway across the world, at a moment's notice.
I think Kuma has an activation phrase, and all it will take to subvert the Reverie's security is a single person (bird-person?) infiltrating it and speaking it to Kuma in passing.
That moment being the ultimate goal behind Kuma's decision to allow the World Government to modify him to begin with.

Same. I really think Capone is planning a coup in the background himself, to occur on the night of the wedding, that we just haven't seen or heard yet. I mean, he's a supernova, he's gotta have some ambition! That's why he shot Pekoms: he needed the wedding to happen, come hell or high water. That's why he may have shot Bobbin: he's somehow aware that Sanji is in the know, or that the Straw Hats aren't actually in captivity, and he wants to make a deal with them himself, probably with the intent to manipulate them or at least ensure the wedding still takes place as planned. And that's the 'conspiracy' Pekoms was embroiled in that Jinbei just mentioned.
really I just want the wedding to be a complete clusterfuck. I can't see Luffy and crew taking out Big Mom on their own at this stage in the game.

Looking forward to see One Piece Gold.

...Heart of Gold is so, so bad. Maybe the worst One Piece thing I have seen. Treatment of Nami and Robin is disgusting and the villain is crap. Is it coming free with Gold? Even then, I think that should lower the price on Gold, rather than raise it...It is a stain.

Yeah. It was really awful, honestly. And it made no sense having half the crew locked and unable to fight against that dude which... was quite weak to begin with.

Sanji wanting to save his worthless family is a bit silly, but it is so him after all. Luffy and Sanji's reunion was great.

I guess we're pretty close to finding out what Capone has been planning, and that will wind up being the big reveal for the final section of this arc. Potentially with Pudding involved, too.

I'm ok with him wanting to save his family and Luffy reaction, casually saying they're going head on against Mama was cool too, as if it was as easy as going to the grocery store to get something.

I feel that Sanji in this arc has been a bit too similar to Robin in Ennies Lobby though. There is a strong sense of deja vu and it's kind of weird seeing Sanji hesitating about Luffy accepting him back after Robin, Nami and especially Usopp being able to go back to the crew.

Would have rather had something like him saying that he wants to save them eventhough they're a bunch of assholes, but that he can't really ask the Strawhats to risk their lives to save them. Or something along those lines.

More then half of the crew already had a "refusal" storyline to show, how strong there bond is. A pirate crew is group of individuals, who chose their captain and are loyal to him. The "refusal" strengthens there loyalty and display Luffy's leader abilities. Luffy reads people like a book and always knows, what he needs to say. He is a natural leader (Conquerer Haki is just another word for this inclusive super powers).

But I've never had this same feeling, since the different "refusal" arcs have been quite different until now. Nami was right at the beginning of the series, and while she had already took some affection towards the crew, she had never said she was part of the crew. Usopp decided to leave the crew after he challenged Luffy in order to save the Going Merry. Robin didn't consider herself part of the crew and he left because she didn't want to them get killed by a great force and would rather just die than face being rejected by the Strawhats down the line.

Sanji, however, feels too similar to Robin to me. With a bit of Usopp, but that doesn't realy bother me. It feels like he's making the same mistakes that have already been made and that his motives are quite similar to Robin. I can understand him feeling "down" because he's been through some shit in the last few chapters, but I certainly would have appreciated a bigger focus on him wanting to save Reiju and feeling he can't leave the Vinsmokes behind, instead of what we got.

That's all.

Every crew has to have a jobber

But he was one of the first crew members we saw! I hoped that meant he was a force to be reckoned with but then he gets taken out by the least effective weapon in OP: a gun.

Hoping for something special out of him at the wedding ceremony. He's not living up to that "fixer" name of his too well.

I can't say Robin because she can't actually get fights.
Hot damn!! She saved Rebecca that counts for something.. Bwhahahaha

Luffy vs. Shanks is going to be a Davy Back Fight between the crews.

That's was the whole point of Long Ring Long Land (well, that, and showing us just how monstrous an admiral can be)
