Sony Playstation: First Party Studios & their Current Projects

I don't think anything you said was egregiously wrong, but I do want to correct this bit. SMS has a few job listings, but it just looks like the sort of routine hiring you see all the time at big studios.

I stand corrected then. I should have looked at their job listings before saying that for sure, but I made that comment based on that they constantly advertising jobs on twitter for their God Of War team, but yeah maybe its for the same few positions

I think Sucker Punch could also work on this game -

Looks open-world for me :p

Gotcha. That's interesting! I never really look at their Twitter account, so I haven't seen that advertising.

Wouldn't be surprised if that western concept art was something that never came together. They cracked down pretty quickly on the GOW4 leak. Did they do the same for Horizon?

I highly doubt that, since insomniac have their hands full and the only other studios that could possibly do it is guerilla cambridge which closed :( and Sony bend which is on days gone. Not a big enough ip to bring a different developer and make it. Maybe a remastered collection down the road is possible. 3 was my personal favorite and sadly it sold the worst:(

I'd be up for a remaster, reboot or a proper sequel tbh. Something that falls inline w/ R1 with R3 elements sprinkled in. With all the third person titles they're pushing, it would be pretty sweet to have... especially with KZ on the back-burner for the forseeable future.

Disappointing, seems third person action games is all Sony is making.

I think it makes sense though. There are already so many FPS options on the market (COD, Battlefront, Battlefield, Titanfall, etc.)

Third person action/adventure/story-driven games is their place to shine. There is room for lots of variety there (e.g. Horizon, Uncharted 4, Until Dawn, Bloodborne, Ratchet & Clank). That doesn't even include the more niche Japanese games.

Obvious jokes aside, I'm pretty optimistic about Knack 2. Looked pretty good in the debut trailer, and Sony Japan Studio has been given a lot of time to work on it.
I've been labeled a knack Stan no jokes at all. Knack was a competent game everything I've seen of 2 looks like an improvement

Sony is indeed lacking some FPS on their lineup, but its clear they turned to third party deals for that genre this gen

Would be cool if they could back Human Head Studios to make a game based on their OG idea for Prey 2 tho (would be cool if anyone could back them for that really)

thats what people who played have said as well

Replayed the heist mission in U4 recently. It made me sad as hell when I realized we'll never get a James Bond game from ND.

Oh wait I didn't hear about this. When/how did we figure this out?

He trolled a lot and gave fake impressions about FFXV which resulted in a perma-ban, as far as I know. I still think he did know a fair amount of stuff, and don't completely discredit all of his info as a result.

Thats where something FPS-esque like Resistance would be a nice game in Sony's catalogue.

Yeah, I don't want them to completely abandon their FPS efforts, although it seems like they've mostly moved on from that now. For starters I'd like remasters of Killzone 2 and the Resistance Trilogy.

Disappointing, seems third person action games is all Sony is making.

I'm okay with that. They're pretty damn good at it now and cover a pretty decent range within that genre. When they're putting out stuff like Bloodborne, Gravity Rush 2, The Last of Us, Uncharted 4 and the God of War instalments I really can't complain.

They gotta show SuckerPunch's new game at E3 this year. At that point it will have been 3 years since the release of their last game and we haven't even seen or heard about their new one. I hope it's not a huge open world game. They're not quite big enough to fill open worlds with meaningful content so something more linear but focused would be awesome.

Yeah, I have enjoyed all of their games despite the open worlds rather than because of them. Although given how long new IPs can take to make this gen (5+ years in some instances) I would not be surprised if SP's new game isn't quite ready to show yet.

I just hope we get a Bloodborne 2 or another From game at E3 this year. I've just finished the first and want more cosmic horror!

Hey guys, does anyone recall the recent thread that had a poster with supposedly insider info denying a Bloodborne 2? I can't find it, but I am sure I read it not too long ago.

Yeah it been a while, my guess is that Sony have switched to announcing games closer to their target launch dates.
